Okay, so, first of all, i LOVE how it starts with the apple. From the beginning of time, women have been the scapegoat. And then Andromeda (right?) hanging straight from the rope, you know I love me some literal lyrics matching. And sewerslide as escape, perfect! I've always interpreted this line that way. The man who complains about his debts is also so, so typical. And Robin bashing! Cosimo just eating and not even threatened, just mildly confused, still cracks me up. "Could not save her" with Lucy and Margaret was really clever and really hit me hard. And of course the Eleanor and The Great parallel is perfect! That woman looking at her mother at the altar is heartbreaking, the mother's face just says it all. The "I've got a try" with suffragettes is a stroke of genius. And the mix of modern and period clips just works so well. Picket fence dreams with Henry and (what's alive of) his family? Chef's kiss! And Beth and Betty and Skyler and OH MY GOD CHRSITINA AND THE GINGER DEVIL!! DRAG! HIM!! I'm so glad you included that one. And the fact you managed to do all this chronologically? Just wow! I'm in awe, all other edits destroyed forever.
I always interpreted those lyrics the same as you about sewerside (this language is ridiculous youtube but necessary). Thank you so much for all the details you noticed and picked up 😭
Gosh I wish I had the energy to wrote those long comments I used to wrote because this one deserve at least this. Can't do this anymore though so I will just say how much this edit will mark me and will remind me the truth about men when I might forgot it again. Nobody ever will edit this song like you did. It’s an EXAMPLE and it's already iconic.
I was already vibing like crazy from the beginning, starting to notice how we were moving through the ages and decades and being blown away - and then it didn't stop!! The amount of symbolism in each extrait picked and the way it's assembled is gorgeous. I love it. Thank you for your art.
this is EVERYTHING. the simplicity, the footage you chose, how well everything fit the lyrics... i love how you didn't just pick wives/lovers but mothers, daughters, sisters, servants as well, from slaves to queens, silenced by the men in their lives. the "undo this mistake" moments was GENIUS, but then this whole video is, so i don't even know where to start. also, i adore the chronological approach in the first part of the video, and somehow it is only strengthened by the mix of eras in the second part. just. i have so much too say and at the same time i'm speechless. marvellous work.
This is truly the sweetest comment, honestly whenever someone likes one of my edits it gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling deep inside. I'm so glad you appreciate all those aspects, especially the "undo this mistake" moment and the change up halfway through the edit to mix of eras since I was worried both wouldn't translate with the chronological aspect in the first half.
this is brilliant in so so many ways, but what really grabbed me was how history is literally in progression here. thousands of years passing through our eyes in the form of women's servitude fitting so perfectly with the lyrics. incredible work!
First, this is amazing video. It's so weil-edited and the choice of video clips is perfect.. Secondly, it's extremely unlikely to see the light of day but I've been writing an article about this topic and would love to chat about this stuff if you're open to it and have a bit of free time. Overall though this is an excellent video that really resonated with me. You're very talented!
I love the fact that Marianne from the BBC series is shown in relation to robin as well as her almost marriage to Gisborne, both men asked impossible things of her, granted Gisborne more then Robin, but still, great edit!
This is so beautifully put. Can't believe I'm discovering it now but the lyrics and scenes match so well and the aesthetic at the beginning with the apple and waves is breathtaking. Love that Mara, Contessina and Sybille are also include, they are so often overlooked in historical videos I find.

You're the best! It is here whenever we get frustrated with men, indeed.

The rage I feel right now. Impeccable work.
with just one view, you can see how so much thought went into every clip chosen for each lyric.
