Good video. I prefer your usual edit, blind taste all and then reveal.

You know what i like of you best? That youre always trying to improve your channel. That tells me im on the right place as a subscriber. Funny enough i am having a 75% Vermentino sparkling wine from Brazil while watching this.

@@drmatthewhorkey Yes, but im biased to say now that i bought 100 bottles from the winemaker and put my own label on it. Trying to start my own winery here in Brazil. I could recognize sage aroma and its also kinda salty on the taste.

I enjoy all your tastings regardless of how you do or don’t do your blind tastings. Fun and educational regardless!

I like this format experiment, too! Otherwise I'm jockeying around on the scrollbar trying to connect the detailed notes to the reveal notes for wines I'm more interested in. The black and white helped, too. Love that you keep trying new things.

Always enjoy a Vermentino and Sardegna holds a special place with me as I honeymooned there for a few days up near Olbia and the Golfo di Orosei. Good times, great food and wine!

I visited Tuscany in May and I was blown away by how affordable, yet good, the vermentino was. Relatively easy to find 88-92 points under 18 euros a bottle.

I just had my first vermentino a couple of weeks ago. 80/20 vermentino and Malvasia Bianca. Incredibly smooth and bursting with flavor

I also adore Vermentino di Sardegna and will be visiting the island again next month. I's usually a great marriage between fruit, minerality and salinity and in a lot of cases complexity and length.

Agree with the blind tasting notes matched with the wine! I just had a very nice lemon meringue key lime + sea salt of some one of these and it was great!

I recently had an interesting (and delicious) bottle-aged rolle from Chateau Margui in Cote de Provence. I loved the nutty complexity that the wine has taken on with time in bottle. But the best example I've had recently comes from a rising star here in South Africa called Sakkie Mouton. His wines are made in tiny quantities from unique coastal terroir and so worthwhile seeking out. His vermentino straddles a wonderful fruit profile and razor sharp tension, with a distinctive salty quality. Really good stuff.

Vermentino is a fun grape and it does show terroir quite well, while also exhibiting it varietal character. So far I've had Vermentino di Sardegna, Toscana and Salento. Looking at my notes the one from Toscana with more fruity and possible lees aging or oak? had the highest score, but the one from Sardegna was just fun. With salinity, sage and very crisp. I think different types of Vermentino go with different types of food and/or dishes. This was a fun video style, interesting and keeps your attention. Cheers!

I enjoyed the new edit style (added some Vermentinos to my buying list). if you don't wanna have to explain every time, you may wanna add a small tier tittle, and maybe a vignette, when you flashback to the blind tasting through the reveal, in a addition to the color grading style. You may want to publish and refer to a full length tasting video with no-edits but exclusive for members, I don't know. Just some ideas popping off. Enjoying the channel here, with much appreciation of your content.Keep on!

Great stuff Matthew. I had some Vermentino's in Italy, but it's never been really my to go white wine during holidays. Maybe there's too much choice. ))

We only like all the geeky, aged styles of Vermentino, not very interested in just fruit 😅 have you tried Cobalto from Val delle Rose / Cecchi? It’s aged in wood, steel and amphora, pretty cool
