    This is a perfect dress watch that anyone can enjoy and pass it on as a family heirloom. And best of all is it has a reliable movement with silicone balance spring that makes it very durable.

    Blows my mind the amount of criticism this watch gets. It's nearly everything the comment section cognoscenti asks for; sub 40mm, no date window, solid power reserve, silicone balance, minimal and understated dial text, no cheesy faux-tina, the only thing it's missing from the normal list of "if this watch had blah blah blah I'd buy it" is a 200 meter depth rating (because everyone knows it won't withstand a dunk in the pool at 100), which is FRANKLY RIDICULOUS to ask of a dress watch. This things gorgeous, gets everything right, than gets panned in every comment section. I don't get it.
    Edit; with only 10 comments so far I'm not talking about this comment section, just a lot of others I've read, since I've been following the write ups on this watch since it came out as it's an actual contender for my annual nice watch purchase.

      if this had Rolex or (Grand) Seiko or one of the other handful of "darlings", people would have been creaming in their pants over it
      i swear, not even gaming communities are as awful as watch collectors

      The original 34 mm is not really considered a dress watch, it was considered a sporting watch. The Silver Arrow moniker is in reference to the Mercedes racing cars of the 50s. It's only a "dress watch" now because most modern sports watches are expected to have strong lume, high WR rating and screw down crowns. With that said, I think it would've helped if they brought the WR to at least 60 or 100 meters since it's a modern reinterpretation of the original. It also would've been nice with a bracelet just like the original had.
      Regardless I am ordering this watch at my AD later this year.

      @@praetor47 most of them are newbie people. True collector appreciate every brand and has a lot of historical knowledge about them, but what’s appeared to the service are people wanting shiny wooleex that sells overlist am thinking about investing on it and suddenly becoming coffee/ photography fanatics once they owned those shiny things

    I have the 2010 firs re-issue of the SilverArrow. It has a date, but I think it looks better. It has the ripples on the idecies, but they are very very fine.

    This is not a dedicated dress watch. This feels more akin to a 50s bubble back. I would call it a gentleman's adventure watch.

    Beautiful Watch! Comparing this to a grand seiko SBGX259 or 263. Tough choice but am leaning towards the silver arrow. What do you think? 🤔

      @@bookofmillions Haha the quartz are special in thier own right and much thinner to wear. I actually ended up with both silver arrow and sbgx263. Looking at the Longines Spirit Ti no date next.

      Prices on these have dropped 25%... fortunately or unfortunately pretty standard for Longines. If you are patient prices will usually drop after 6 months of launch.

    • @shajeedislam1181
      @shajeedislam1181 3 роки тому +2

      Understandable, but I think it's nice that they introduced a heritage piece to fulfill the niche it does now. In my eyes, it's nice that this exists alongside the flagship heritage which is mostly dial and wears significantly larger than the 38.5 mm suggests. The heritage collection is then rounded off with the conquest heritage which available in both 40 and 35 mm sizes, so there's something for everyone on that front.
