- Many Quant Mutual Fund Schemes are outperforming their benchmark and peers. The main reason for this is the use of Predictive Analytics and Data Analytics to pick stocks for the Quant mutual fund portfolios. Quant Mutual Fund is a very young AMC which came into existence in 2018 after Quant Capital acquired Escorts Mutual Fund. Mr Sandeep Tandon is the Founder of the Quant Group, MD and CEO of Quant Capital and Founder and Chief Thought Officer of the Quant Mutual Fund. I have watched several interviews of Mr Sandeep Tandon explaining VLRT framework but this video was also very helpful with nice elaboration and crisp and precise content. For some reason, this didn't feel like a 20 mins long video totally hooked. GREAT CONTENT 👍

They have 5 to 30% of portfolio in derivatives (mostly Future contract even in small cap fund they have derivative market future positions) with Hedge legs. This gives added advantages to them.
Quant mutual fund house actually carrying the real meaning of active fund. Active fund mean really Active. Buy and hold anybody can do why for that I gonna pay expense charges?

@@TheSlimmshadyy I mean Quant mutual fund ' Strategy is Quantum . they use Mathematics instead of typical market mood strategy that's why they have Adani stocks in their portfolio . this strategy depends on high churning percentage and if you have high AUM it becomes hard to buy and sell stocks in that proportion so its performance will go down . if you want to have a quant fund best on will be Active or Flexi so they have super diversified stocks to pick from . And i will always choose active otherwise every fund just chooses 60-70 % from large cap to be on safe side
@@ANKIT-uw2gx Do you even know what high AUM means? As far as I can see, their AUM is way too low as of now. The AMC is not going down anytime soon. Stop spreading false knowledge.

There's a bit of higher risk in quant funds as it is more technical driven more than fundamentally driven. Quant funds were overweight on Adani stocks when other funds took calibrated exposure. Now most of Quant funds took severe beating. So chasing secular appreciation of return and not looking at down side risk possibility can be huge negative point in investing. Fools rush where angels fear to tread.
Fundamental and Technical both are equally risky. Both FA/TA don't give an edge in market in long term. Assuming that Fundamental Analysis is superior or inherently less risky than TA is a wrong assumption.

what happened with Adani wasn't just event risk, many of their technical indicators were critical.
I'm investing with Quant MF from 2020. Then their AUM was hardly 1000 Cr . Yeah their fund managers are amazing really amazing

No you can't. Why? Simple, by saying that you know when to make exit you are claiming that you can predict market top. But if you had any ability to predict market top you would be very rich by now and would not have been investing in a small cap mutual fund.
When we retailers get into Quant, then old school excellent performers such as Parag Parikh,Motilal Oswal etc will give run up..😀

Currently quant mutual funds have low AUM, but in future when it's AUM becomes large, do you think is it possible to exit stocks as easy as they are doing it right now(liquidity issues)??
I think quantitative investing doesn't work when mutual funds AUM becomes large!!
Its wrong concept....your mutual fund perform in % depends on waitage of companies in that fund.
I agree with you. But now they might be able to completely churn out stock but when it has large AUM then they may churn out in installment rather than completely and keep on generating returns. Isn't this possible?
@@vikrammalhotra3505 suppose that you manage 100 rs folio with two stocks having 50 rs each...when you will manage 1000 rs then you will have those stocks having 500rs each...in both cases % return of that folio will be same.
@Value Investor that I already know. What I was saying that when aum increases n fund manager wants to sell a stock it can do it in periodically rather than doing it all at time when aum is small.

investors who are reluctant to invest in quant and having fear of so high risky play of quant mf irrespective of high consistent returns....now after this video might be they give a second though and opt for quant....Quant Dynamic Asset Allocation Fund NFO...can be appropriate choice for above said investors....so might be risk bit low as its balanced fund...but their fund management team person told me even this fund shall be aggressive category...

Quant based investment is risky. Just look at Long Term Capital Mgmt fund in US and how it went kaput. Though it was a hedge fund but still there are learnings that we should bear in mind. Couple of black swan events and game over.
They try to find out mathematical formula for everything. ...that's where the problem lies. ...everything in life and stock market is not mathematically correct. ....
LTCM was using Leverage. Quant is not using any leverage. Do homework
