    Cooked on the griddle for the first time last weekend. I want to say thank you for the tips and giving me some direction as I am decidedly not a cook.

    Paul ... as always, a great video. I am really looking forward to your upcoming videos on knives, sharping and sauces.
    As a funny note, I must have watched 2 or 3 of your videos before I noticed there is a pond and highway behind you. I was so fascinated by what you were doing, I hadn't noticed.

    Just picked up a Blackstone and excited to try stuff like this. Good content. Say you use a higher smoke point oil like Avocado, do you still aim for the smoke point then dial back or is it better to stay around 400ish?

    • @thebackyardhibachi
      @thebackyardhibachi  Рік тому +3

      Try to stay in the 380-420 range so you have time for the meats to cook throughly on the inside before burning the outside. If your grill runs up into the 450-500 range you have to keep everything moving (fried rice, noodles, vegetables) almost wok style.
      The advantage of using avocado oil is you have a higher threshold before the oils reaches its smoke point and starts to denature.

    Like other comments here, I totally agree, another great video. Would be great if we all chipped in and got you a Go Pro for the grill. So you can keep the same great view and add is some close ups to the sizzling, magic and your awesome skills on the grill. Just for effect. I love your videos, but since you're going to be more famous, if you keep this up, we might as well have some grill drama shots. Thanks for sharing Brudda
