You... you cant upgrade the memory on a C64! What witchcraft is this? Are we upgrading to a C128? Edit: I just discovered REUs, I feel like a fool. As such this video is proving it's getting an REU installed as the numbers go up!
Johnathan Dunn actually created a sound driver as such for this which is why there is such a dramatic difference between 4&5. This same driver was found on some SNES/mega drive games...amazing!
He might have used the same data layout for the notes on each platform, but the actual driver for each of those platforms would have been radically different. Each of those machines has a totally different processor and totally different synthesis method, and the drivers would have all been written in assembly.
I still have my C64 after all these years. The best christmas present I ever had. The music was fantastic. I used to load games just to hear the loading music.
This was the loader on Batman the movie....one of my favourite games of all time....awesome music....i still use my c64 and amiga today....my xbox 360 just sits there gathering dust...have no idea why i bought it...These were the days....superb. Thanks for uploading!!!
My last c64 game was from 1987... so this great tune has brand new to me. Classics: quickly digging my memory (I still have working C64 at home. ~ 300 games, cass-deck and 2 joysticks. But no TV since 2008. Arkanoid game animation music Platoon "FIRST CASUALTY OF WAR IS INNOCENCE" IK I, II & + The Last Ninja loading music & stage I intro And games: Wizard Of War, Wizball, Impossible mission(s), Arkanoid II & Pitstop II. ARKANOID I I finished (finally!) using TAC-2 2003 as it was took of from naftalin-bunker. I had four witnesses. I WAS 22yo XD That fact this music had just three channels make there BASICers fantastic composers.
Remember when it loaded and finished....then crashed. Wish I was there again. The quickshot 2 joystick. Don't think they'll bring out 'Staff of Karnath' on PS5 and probably no 'Myth' on xbox. Umph.
Jonathan Dunn is the man who make me dreamin about writing my own music. This theme and all music in «Jurassic park» on NES are the most geatest 8bit music I ever hear.
but then again, this is a tape loader song for games made for an 8bit home computer, one that has no support for sampling and only has 3 sound channels
Unfortunately, this is my only source of finding loader music and Amiga games, as my old A600 was one of multiple sacrifices made when I moved house a couple of years ago. So many memories, all gone now :(
@danwillingham In Stockholm/Sweden there is a monthy club called Syntax Error that only plays "chiptunes". I'm unable to post a link but search for "Syntax Error Stockholm".
Was gilt die Wette? Denn soviel Mühe konnten sich nur die wahnsinnigen Programierer der alten Computer machen.
I watch this at a time where it has 64k views.
Nice.
66k and going up :-)

I was a Spectrum user back in the 1980s, but the C64 tunes were the best.
as were the graphics, the games, the scrolling, and hardware.. well everything

Good choice. My ringtone is Flashback menu theme (SNES ver)
@@neofox. i have shadow of the beast (amiga intro)
It's a close tie between v5 and v4 for me. Both are awesome.
I had this one associated to Robocop for Commodore 64! That's crazy!! On UA-cam there are loading videos where the version 4 is used.
Haha - two seconds in and I'm 9 years old again. :)
i want this played at my funeral!!

sid chip operation wolf loading music Jonathan Dunn brilliant
nice. better than ocean loader 4! snare sounds so much better. and the high pitched back beat makes it swing!

soundtrack to my childhood :)
@90sRetro The young punks didnt get to experience this first time round, when computers were still special and magical. Their loss.
i used to be an edgy f*ck XD
Great music created on a great machine at a great time. It truly was magical what they did with the Sid Chip. Thank You To Them All.
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
seem to remember from back then this was the version on stallones Cobra game for the commodore 64/128
God that was a terrible game on the 64 lol. The Speccy version was amazing.
i bet if they put a real drum track on this and some lyrics, it would have been a huge hit single
but then again, this is a tape loader song for games made for an 8bit home computer, one that has no support for sampling and only has 3 sound channels
Devil Creations did supreme guitar covers for Ocean Loader 2-4, check him out, they're fantastic.
Unfortunately, this is my only source of finding loader music and Amiga games, as my old A600 was one of multiple sacrifices made when I moved house a couple of years ago. So many memories, all gone now :(
It's your fault for trashing your computer!
This tune also appeared on the game Puzznic when it is loading.
