my mate in school had a pal who wanted to swap a C64 for a spectrum 48k....Gave him my Speccy 48K for his C64 .Probably the only time I will win the lottery :) Thanks Andre .....
I got used to Galway's name popping up all over the place. I remember games like Mikie, Rastan and Green Beret. Most impressive, I think, were Slap Fight, Roland's Ratrace and of course the loader.
Galway was my introduction to the C64 as a musical instrument rather than just another computer... before that i saw some earlier games such as spyhunter and space pilot. It was only later that i heard this mezmerising music when playing parallax. After that i brought my first c64 game at woolworths; Thing on a Spring, which blew me away... the music, not the game :)
Amazing, I remember being quite happy, content and patient listening to this awesome tune whilst my tape loaded.... It was like a Theatre production waiting for the main act! Modern gamers Laugh, then I say "how many updates/downloads/patches?" "And how long to download?" LOL
@@birdrun4246 Modern computers multi-task.. you can watch a movie or put music on while you're downloading if you want, heck you can even play games while waiting for games to download
I remember that music from Ocean Loader 3 and it can be played in some C64 games such as Rastan, Renegade and Basketball Master. I used to listen to it when I was a kid. It's a great music. I think it is my favourite Ocean Loader music of all time. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
My first computer was an Amstrad CPC464. I chose it because the graphics were colourful. When I heard the Superbowl loader on the C64, I was beginning to regret my choice.
Ocean loader 3. Was that by Matthew cannon? I always appreciated the nod to Galway at the beginning, but thought the tune wasn't a patch on what came before.
As far as I remember: Ocean Loader 1 - Martin Galway Ocean Loader 2 - Martin Galway Ocean Loader 3 - Peter Clarke Ocean Loader 4 - Jonathan Dunn Ocean Loader 5 - Matthew Cannon (it's only on a handfull of releases)
is there an actual way to get a program that customizes 1 channel, for like, fl or smth? with mod , Waveform n stuff, pls reply, it makes my music making carrer grow maybe even bigger.
I have never cried to music but this is the first time

Galway's Ocean Loader is a masterpiece, I would load games just to hear the song.

Same
The C64 Ocean loader was an incredible and exciting piece to listen to in my young days.
They should send this tune on the next space mission out of our solar system. That's how epic it is.
100% why have no one thought of this, it could however happen with Elon :)
If the c64 it self ever had a theme tune, this was it....
Totally agree!
i realize it is kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to stream new tv shows online ?

@@kadenelisha4175 are you time traveller from 90s? :D
I remember BlackBox 4...
getting goosebumps here. the wonderful music eminating from that era is out of this world.
Что самое смешное, я пока ждал загрузку арканоид на эмулятор C64, слышал именно эти мелодии 😅

Fabuleux ! These tunes and their unbelievable sounds are just amazing, even 35 years later.
This is c64 baby omg this is such a fantastic theme even so many years later. I still get goosebumbs so absolutely awesome still 👏👏💪
Amazing that nobody remembers these games anymore but only their soundtracks (and composers) :-)

Just goes to show Steam and the like should have loader music when you're waiting for downloads.
Meanwhile for a while consoles had neither of those things.
Cartridges huh. One hell of a drug. XD
I used to stop the tape and listen to it on repeat, much to the others annoyance at Zzap! :)

I used to buy that! That was a long time ago!
Man Ocean loader 2 gets me choked up thinking about my youth. God bless Galway, Hubbard and all the chip tune gods.

Brilliant! It's amazing being able to see how the sound channels look on a scope like that.
I agree! this is awesome! :)
Agreed. Hypnotic stuff
Love the Ocean Loaders. They're among my favourite music ever.
Great to see Ocean Loader 3 in scope form. Loved it at the start of Combat School etc. My favourite.
Dat smooth change to the pulse width
Two masterpieces, expecially the Galway one, a magic with only simple raw unfiltered saws and PWMs.
Awesome... Just AWESOME... A masterpiece...
Pretty sure around 8000 of the 10000 views this has right now are me
The soundtrack to my childhood
Galway was the original SID master. Many came since, but he was the first....
i love it!!!!
Type "load" and press play on tape.
0:46 why Sawtooth is OP
I wasnt bored at all when the games were loading! Because of this.
Nice 'answer'. Love it. Thank you.
Definitely these songs have to be played on 6581 SID and not on 8580 :)
My '64 only has an 8580 :(
Nah, the 8580 sounds better.
I didn't know tat was Ocean loader music. I prefer no.3 but i heard it only in some demo at casette.
I love it! Thanks for sharing.
Number 2, Rambo anyone? Lol, I have such fond memories of Ocean's loaders

Please do the last ninja (1) on the scope - the entire thing, from press play on tape to finishing the inner sanctum :)
oh and this is so good - brings back memories of my childhood waiting for game to load from tape :)

The sawtooth patterns seem to have a fixed centerpoints. Is there a reason for that?
Every oscillator is centred at the same point watch the pulse waves
