I love this mode is way more fun and strategic than the normal one, and playing as a team with my 5yo is so much better… I really hope this is on jamboree or I’ll be very dissapointed
Partner party was almost great. 1 or 2 tweaks and it would have been the future of the franchise. It has the most potential for being the best game play ever. Sad to see they gave up on it instead.
I agree with the criticism on the mode. Altho i liked it as well! It was fun to play together in stead of against each other. There was much more to be gained.. So i hope it comes back better!
OK, some people need to make up their minds. Super Mario Party was said to be a "return to form". Then Superstars was said to be the "TRUE return to form". Now we have this? Looks like fans will call anything a "return to form" just to try to erase their memories from 9, 10 and the 3DS games. 🤣
Honestly, it might be biased because it was my 1st Mario Party, but honestly 9 is so fun, the minigame selection is amazing and the side modes are perfect, even if the boards arent as good as some retro boards (like, most of them tbh, because i prefer walking without a car) the side modes make for it, all involved the almost perfect minigame selection and had funny gimmicks, so it made that game better than some people think!
5:02 I actually want a 2v2 mode on board play. But not function like partner party from super with grid based movement but function like regular free for all board play except 2 players together in a team share coins, stars and items. Basically a team mode which was already in mario party for gamecube. I want to play together with a friend against some randoms online.
I actually liked partner party and think it would be cool if Nintendo made the boards available in partner party but found a way to make them work without hsving to make the board in regular mario party smaller or worse
I miss the PARTNER PARTY mode, it was the best thing invented so far in the series in my opinion, because for once im like 15/20 years of Mario Party, you could get strategic while playing in teams of two, one could be focused on the special item while the other was focused on the star or on getting allies on the board. Although I do agree that the levels were shitty looking and two small, except from the fruits islands that I played hundreds of times.
You're trying way too hard to hate on partner party in SMP and I doubt you would if it was shown in Jamboree. That game mode is really good, adds a layer of strategy you can't really replicate. Loads of people love it. Just because it was in a meh game doesn't suddenly mean everything about it was bad. The mini games in SMP were fantastic too.
I agree that it was a really fun mode and honestly is what I mostly played. But it’s still true that it was directly responsible for the boards being so boring
This is my favorite mode… loved the strategy of sticking together or go in different directions to get the special item for the special stars… and the grid movement was so much better you can decide to get a lucky space a vs or a an item… I really hope this mode is back in jamboree
i misread your comment the first time so if u see a previous comment just disregard, for a sec i thought you were talking about buddies lol I agree, 2v2 was honestly really fun, kinda the only thing that game had going for it imo lol but it was rlly unique how they did it
Mario party superstars is the mario party we deserved. Let alone the speed of the game, not playing 10 turns for an hour where you barely move but have 15 turns in 45 minutes with like 150 steps to it with double and triple dice. I hope Jamboree is the mario party superstars with more boards and variety.
The 20 player mini games sound great… but… take it from Superstars that can’t even handle 4-player games without some sort of lag or delay, this sounds cool, but part of me is afraid it’ll be a laggy mess
Not talking about Mario Party Superstars in this video baffles me. It paved the way to fixing many things you said Jamboree is bringing now. MPS brought back the classic game board style with 20 coin stars, and had online for every mode in the game. It also allowed any controller with enough buttons to be used to play all its minigames. It paved the way for a new Mario Party to take the older formula that has proven to work and apply it with the new good ideas from Super Mario Party to make the Mario Party we have been waiting for. Also those 2 classic N64 boards? They were VERY likely MPS DLC boards that were moved to the new game to bump up the level count. So Mario Party Superstars did much more than you have given credit for this new game, give credit where it is due!!
The thing I hated the most about Super Mario Party was the way it forced me to use a single Joy-Con. I absolutely HATED not being able to use both (or a Pro Controller)!🤬🤬🤬
This game looks like a perfected Mario Party, it has 5 new long interactive boards, 2 classic ones, great graphics and animations, a combination of traditional and motion control minigames, online and many different fun modes, it seems it has it all. If they add DLC boards in the future, this game could be the best Mario Party game ever created. Super Mario Party was fun but with short boards and weird board mechanics, plus only motion control minigames; Superstars was great but just a revision of classic minigames and boards, and they never added more classic boards via DLC. I am excited for this one!!
Why is everyone bashing superstars? I thought it was great. It reminded me of the original ones. I personally didn't care for super Mario party for two main reasons. Number one is the controls. I may just be dumb but I did not like the single joystick. I prefer being able to play the old fashion way. Second is that even though there were more games, there was only four worlds VS superstars that had five. And I don't even count the last one as a real world. Guess the third thing is the team up. It gives players an unfair advantage if they get another character to help them and you can even get multiple! That just allows them better chances of moving more and winning mini games.
I like how this video is asking how Jamboree could save Mario Party when LITERALLY EVERY NDCUBE MARIO PARTY TITLE has ranged from could be better at worst to good at best.
I think “super” is just a rebrand for the series. I’ve seen people say that jamboree is a sequel to super, but it’s no different than 6 expanding on the orb system from 5. It’s just taking some of the extra game modes and ideas in super.
Turns out there’s some truth behind the old saying of Never Judge a Book By It’s Cover. Or in this case, a game’s boxart. Now, I won’t claim Super Mario Party was the best game in the franchise. I like it, I played the old games, but I still like it. It had a lot of issues I can point out even as a fan of the game, but like it or not, Super Mario Party was the game that saved the franchise. I mean, when NDCube took over, NONE of the games prior to Super were particularly well received. 9 was the start of the controversial co-op car gimmick. Island Tour was a bunch of gimmicky race to the finish boards. 10 was the car again BUT NOW YOU CAN BE BOWSER!? Star Rush had the entire identity be Partner Party/Partner Party without Partners with a bunch of variety modes. Top 100 was all nostalgic style, no substance. So for NDCube to finally take a crack at a more traditional style Mario Party was exactly like when Nintendo finally did the TTYD remake. They finally admitted what they were doing wasn’t working as well, so they took a stab at the older style of Mario Party. And, like the game or not, sales numbers don’t lie, as far as Nintendo sees it. Super more than DOUBLED what every NDCube Mario Party sold COMBINED. Even if the execution wasn’t there for Super, they took a shot at the traditional style, and it still far and away spoke volumes that this is what we wanted Mario Party to be like. And not to discredit Superstars’ contribution to the series, since it also had a hand in saving the series. It was all old content, yes. But it was old content they obviously used to learn what to do for board design and game mechanics, as we can see in Super Mario Party Jamboree. All in all, this is objective fact. Super and Superstars saved the series, and Super Mario Party Jamboree is just the work they put in coming to fruition. We can all have our biases with Mario Party or any gaming franchise, but the sales numbers communicate the story better than what games we do or don’t like. At least with such a colossal success as Super Mario Party was.
Keep in mind "most disappointing" doesn't necessarily mean "the worst". 1 2 Switch is undoubtedly a far worse game than Super Mario Party, but the expectations for SMP were much higher, hence the greater disappointment.
The single problem that sinks Mario Party in Nintendo's eyes is that Mario Party should be equal, and everyone HAS to have a chance to win. This to me completely breaks the system. If you don't win, people just say that you are unlucky and you will win next time. And sure Luck should be a factor but SKILL has to be the backbone of Mario Party with luck as a supplement. Not everyone is going to win and making a game where that is the case ruins the fun of the series.
I kind of have to disagree with you on this. I actually don't really like the Nintendo 64 Mario Party video games, mostly for the single fact that many - *_if_* not most - of the minigames are too hard for me - *_even after extensive practice!_* This is not for me to mention the fact that some of the video game gameplay mechanics on the digital game boards (i.e. Peach's Birthday Cake) in the Nintendo 64 Mario Party video games are too punishing/socially dickish there. I’m sad that this one won’t have the “local wireless” feature SMP and Superstars had as my friends and I use the feature quite often. I’m still going to get play the game even if my friends and I have to play on a single system and also offline too.
I reckon the Mario party games are honestly the best games on Nintendo and I don’t know why anyone would call it the biggest disappointing games lol, like it has tons of fun mini games and it’s like most fun game ever to play with friends around haha, my best friend bought me super Mario super stars for my birthday and we played it like so often when she comes around haha, I’m really excited for the new Mario party game, gonna get it day one lol
I wonder why they only keep remaking maps from Mario Party 1 and 2 with so little from Mario Party 3. Mario Party 3 in my opinion had the best maps and it was hilarious how everyone would get trolled on Waluigi's Island.... I hope they bring more of the trolling component.
The character dice blocks I will miss, but hey, I have heard that character tierlist is bad in a Mario Party game, so sure. Bowser was too op regardless.
This is the stupidest thing i’ve ever said but, my biggest pet peeve in Super Mario Party is the fact that its called Whomps Domino RUINS, RUINS IF ITS A RUIN THEN WHY ARE THERE LIFE THERE, WHOMPS, FLUTTER SHOP WIGGLERS, LAKITU, im sorry theres way more things I should be mad about at Super.
I think Super Mario Party was better than 9 and 10. I have played every game and I really enjoyed the 2v2 game. The point that everyone can buy stars was ok but there you could strategize with dice. Imo is not the best game but not the worst like 10
In the eshop it says that motion minigames will not be available online, for switch lite or pro controller, but that you can still play with them on the button based minigames, i have the idea that i heard it somewhere so this is speculation, but based on that info the motion games will most likely have an option to be disabled, otherwise you couldn't play online or on switch lite
Thank you for pointing out about the controllers now i can just buy a pro just what i needed cause i dont want to buy another joycon and use it just for the mario party but there is one question can i play a motion detect in a mini game using pro con?
I dont believe it will be saved because of its statement from the direct since they clarified that it WILL BE the BIGGEST MARIO PARTY of its series and sure they did say it will have the MOST modes, Minigames and roster, HOWEVER the boards is what the game will likely NOT save the series since IF they want to have the BIGGEST in the series they have to added at least 2 or 3 more boards in order to be called the BIGGEST of the series that means to have the most of every feature of EVERY Mario Party title. And since E-Shop has stated ONLY 7 that will tarnish the its statement on the direct a couple of weeks ago.
Also another reason why the game will likeyWONT BE SAVED IS: everything WONT be available from the start since Mario Party Superstars had ALL playable characters AND boards available from the start and since the trailer showed BOTH characters AND boards seemed to confirmed that everything won't be available from the start.
The original super mario party is probably the main reason i was going to buy a switch. I dont like the old mario parties (i tried DS) so i play the hated gems.
Super Mario Party was my first Mario Party game. Only reason I bought it was for the kids. We really enjoyed it, still play it every few weekends or so. But what is all the hate exactly on it, is it just the mandatory Joycons and lack of boards?
The 4 boards are very small and not interesting. If they were good then maybe 4 boards would be fine but that's not the case. What I hate the most about it that I see no one mention is the pacing. The animations are so incredibly slow and you can't skip them. It means you play less and wait more for no reason. 15 turn games shouldn't take 90 minutes to complete. I don't even hate the Joycons because I have them but I don't enjoy playing the game at all.
Both those things plus the fact that the economy is broken in SMP with the Ally system and 10-coin stars. I personally don't really hate SMP TBH, I think it's an ok game and was perhaps what the series needed at the time, but there's no doubt it had a lot of flaws that held it back and I can definitely see why many people, particularly hardcore MP veterans, ended up not liking it. Luckily though it looks like Jamboree is taking pretty much all the problems with Super and fixing them.
It would technically be MP12 (Or I guess MP13 if you count Superstars as a main entry rather than a spin off), and I think Nintendo stated that they aren't really numbering the games anymore since they didn't feel it was necessary to do so.
My initial reaction was "OOOOH", which was immediately shattered by the severe disappointment from every Mario Party game starting with MP9. I'm extremely hesitant to even get remotely excited until I see more of the game closer to launch.

I am allowed to like what I like and someone else is entitled to like what they like but you going out of your way to bash someone like me is not being a winner, only a bully and an instigator.
@@Redpoppy80bro nobody is on a high horse and nobody is bashing you. You put out a hot take on the internet. That's fine. Someone replied with a counterargument, that's fine. Literally nobody was attacking you for playing the way you want. You're just expecting yes-men on your comment with no room for counterargument.
respect for the mario party 8 BANGER music
Yzma: This had better be good!!
'Plays 20 player multiplayer'
**waits an hour per turn**
Seems like it’s more like a battle royal mode of minigames with no board and dice throws
I dont think Super mario party was bad, i think its great to introduce ppl to the franchise on the switch console and then get competitive with Superstars later. Or even for the kids to play while the hardcore fans geekout on the other with the cassic maps and games
My wife amd kids and even our friends played the hell out of partner party 😂
I enjoy watching your ranking video games and mechanics and stuff like that type of content
I say Mario party jamboree should replace the Mario with murder and make it trivia themed
I hope there is a mode like from the Mario party. 8 where if you do teams depending what character you choose it gives you a team nickname like for me and since me And my brother I'll be Luigi and my brother will be Yoshi. It will be called the green machines
And and I like the shops where they're placed out like Mario party 8. Gives me the Good vibes if you run around and if you randomly cross a shop you can buy like candy something?
This game better be good. Missed out on super mario party 1.
I wonder why this game is compared to only one Switch Mario Party… there is also a newer version (I own the newer one and not the older one), this newer one already has no personal dices and also no coop-board
DLC for Super Mario Party could’ve removed the need for this. I certainly won’t be buying it.
I’m sad that this one won’t have the “local wireless” feature SMP and Superstars had as my friends and I use the feature quite often. I’m still going to get play the game even if my friends and I have to play on a single system and also offline too.
I'm pretty sure it's still in. They probably just forgot to mention it
@@biondigiacomo7176 You think so? I feel like Nintendo wouldn’t forget to mention that feature on a game of theirs.
I love super mario party i play it with my family atleast once a weak we are looking so excited for jamboree
To be honest I'm surprised the series is still alive to this day.
I wonder why they only keep remaking maps from Mario Party 1 and 2 with so little from Mario Party 3. Mario Party 3 in my opinion had the best maps and it was hilarious how everyone would get trolled on Waluigi's Island.... I hope they bring more of the trolling component.
But the most recent one already saved it.
Thoughts of Mario Party Superstars
I’m so looking forward to this Mario Party.
I love Mario Party soo much been playing it since i was a kid 😩
The character dice blocks I will miss, but hey, I have heard that character tierlist is bad in a Mario Party game, so sure. Bowser was too op regardless.
Super Mario party is great. You guys are just stuck in your ways
It was fun, but it definitely lands in my top 3 least favorite Mario Parties. I love every Mario Party, but some are definitely better than others.
They fixed the price in Mario Party Superstars for 20 coins.
it been 20 coins since the game released..
I love mario party in general, subscribed
my cousin said this location look like map from mario and rabbid kingdom 9:07 and ifen show picture from other board 9:25
My brother in Christ, the game isn't even out yet
"COULD"
@@the1-upclub98 Yeah, the person who commented probably didn't see the video and just commented.
I think Super Mario Party was better than 9 and 10. I have played every game and I really enjoyed the 2v2 game. The point that everyone can buy stars was ok but there you could strategize with dice. Imo is not the best game but not the worst like 10
Honestly I’m so excited for a new original Mario party game. With a good roster since superstars wasn’t original and had a terrible roster.
Where in the trailer did it specifically state or show pro controller usability?
In the eshop it says that motion minigames will not be available online, for switch lite or pro controller, but that you can still play with them on the button based minigames, i have the idea that i heard it somewhere so this is speculation, but based on that info the motion games will most likely have an option to be disabled, otherwise you couldn't play online or on switch lite
Please make your ranking of all the mario kart 8 deluxe tracks including the booster pass tracks.
I just want mario party 8 back
2:40 no it’s not it’s the original with 7 maps I think
Are you talking about the super Mario party deluxe game or the first one for the switch?
Thank you for pointing out about the controllers now i can just buy a pro just what i needed cause i dont want to buy another joycon and use it just for the mario party but there is one question can i play a motion detect in a mini game using pro con?
Mario party maker. You might be onto something 😂
I really of hope that he could do
I dont believe it will be saved because of its statement from the direct since they clarified that it WILL BE the BIGGEST MARIO PARTY of its series and sure they did say it will have the MOST modes, Minigames and roster, HOWEVER the boards is what the game will likely NOT save the series since IF they want to have the BIGGEST in the series they have to added at least 2 or 3 more boards in order to be called the BIGGEST of the series that means to have the most of every feature of EVERY Mario Party title.
Will this Mario Party have teams?
Are we just gonna get 2 boards like the last one. Why not update superstars!
They really expect people to still have working joycons
I better be able to use my pro controller or I’m giving the game back 😑
@@Bluenova70you can. Simply you won't be able to play the motion control minigames
@@Bluenova70You can use pro controllers. The motion ones won't even be playable online.
The original super mario party is probably the main reason i was going to buy a switch. I dont like the old mario parties (i tried DS) so i play the hated gems.
No custom dice? Noooooo!!!
They havent confirm if its returning or not so what patiently for the next direct and to be sure IF the item will return or not.
I’m ready to see gameplay like bad 😭
Why don’t they just call it Mario Party 11
I saw another comment that said something about how numbers will sound off, like "Mario Party 27" I know it's a weird example.
It would technically be MP12 (Or I guess MP13 if you count Superstars as a main entry rather than a spin off), and I think Nintendo stated that they aren't really numbering the games anymore since they didn't feel it was necessary to do so.
I disagree with everything that you say is a negative for super Mario party, but am still very much looking forward to Jamboree
10 coins is easy because it’s not that expensive
Super Mario Party wasn't as disappointing as the Grand Theft Auto trilogy on the switch lmao
But it was disapointing as Sonic Forces💀 (Not really but close enough)
Forces was so half baked holy f
GTA and Sonic Forces aren't Nintendo games though.
Partner party is the best
100%
Good video but omg why respeta everything like 10 times again anda again and again. 💀💀💀
I fkn loved partner party
What makes it a sequel to super Mario party? What about superstars?
I spent 125 hours on super Mario party I like Super Mario party
My initial reaction was "OOOOH", which was immediately shattered by the severe disappointment from every Mario Party game starting with MP9. I'm extremely hesitant to even get remotely excited until I see more of the game closer to launch.
I'm going to say the 2 words.
If you don't like Mario + Rabbit, you have skill issue.
I really hope that it has an option to turn off motion controls bc my controllers don't have them
Lol pirate controllers ARRRG
Motion control mini games will be disabled if non-joycons are in use or online.
I really want this!
