There is nothing wrong with a Pinto. I have a 1972 Pinto Squire wagon. I have owned it for around 25 years. It came with a 2.0L/4 speed. I drove it that way for a long time, then found a 1967 Falcon with a 289/4 speed. It was wrecked and rusted, but the engine and transmission were still good. I took out the stock 2.0L/4 speed and put in the 289 V8/4 speed from the Falcon. It was anything but plug and play. It required a lot of fabrication, and I had to have help with some of it. But we did it right. It's rock solid. There is no visible indication of the swap on the outside, but the exhaust certainly sounds different. It's a stock 289, but a V8 with glasspacks sounds very different from an inline four. It still looks stock. It's kind of a copper color, with woodgrain vinyl. It could use a paint job and new vinyl. The inside is really nice except for the drivers seat. Don't underestimate the value of a Pinto. When I found out what they were worth, I regretted modifying it. They are going for between $10,000 to over $20,000 on AutoTrader. I originally paid $800 for it.

You'll get used to Bill, he's hilarious. I'm from the uk too , I never miss him. The biggest engine normally found in the pinto is the cologne v6 2.8 but in a weaker state of tune than we got in european capris and granada. This thing has a 6.7 litre v8 in it.

    Yes, it will be humid.
Buy a roll of blue shop towels to carry so you'll have plenty to wipe the sweat off your brow. The blue shop towels go with the paint on your Pinto Rumble Wagon.
Frankly, if I was drunk and stoned...I would have bought this car. And, I'd be proud as punch to relive being a teenager in 1979. Dished Slot mag wheels? Yup. It's what we looked at in the high school parking lot in The late 70's and early 80's. Beautiful car. It will find a good home...for sure. Just need a cassette tape of John Cougar's greatest hits and Meat Loaf "Paradise by The Dash board Light".

How cool! When I was 16 in '82, my dad took me to go look at a '73 turkey turd green four door Ford Maverick. Problem was it was rusted, ripped striped multi color green seats, smelling of cigarettes and cigarette burn hole in the dash. The kicker was that it had no engine. I defiantly looked at my dad and said if you buy this for me I will never drive it let alone be seen in it! 🫣 The owner wanted $750 poc. I was shocked that he even bought me a car at all, after that ultimatum. I needed to have car to get myself from Wisconsin to college in Florida. Thanks for bringing back funny memories!

Seriously though, between the mid '80s & the late '90s I owned three Pinto Wagons.
They were fantastic little haulers. As a young entrepreneur just entering the Sign & Mural painting game, I needed an affordable work truck and these things were just the ticket. Hatch open, they would swallow up a stack of 4x8 sheets of plywood or drywall (I did a little remodeling work too) You cant even do that with most modern SUVs or crossovers.
They absolutely sipped gas. They handled great and were fun to drive with the 4 speed.
    Shes a keeper...👍🏁

That's another car that I really wish I kept, it smoked the tires on command with no break revving necessary plus it was practical.

I have a green Hot Wheels Pinto wagon that has that stance. Its a panel version and says "Poison Pinto" on the sides.

Bill might as well go all the way and paint that on the side.

Pinto’s were great. Hatchbacks, best little round town little turds ever, before Datsuns and Hondas. Vegas and comets were good turds also. . Nobody would steal them, because you could chase them down.
I loved my 72 pinto, pure transportation, not a highway car, the big four cylinder 4 speed was even better. These are good beaters.

Bill bought the car for 10k in march 23 and sold it now one year later for 9.500. No good deal but hopefully much fun 😂 Don't drink and drive... (or buy)

I like it, but I don't love it. However, with a stock hood, an engine that would fit under it, and a more normal rear suspension. I would drive it everywhere.

I had a 74 Wagon that was pretty close to a orange cream sickle paint job with the 2.4 liter and the best gas mileage
that I could get out of it was 14-16 MPG BUT it ran like a raped ape! It did have a 4 speed transmission but just like
I just got through saying it ran like a raped ape! It also did pretty good in the snow too! I can remember having to blast
through about nearly 5-6 inches of fresh snow that was unplowed that day and meet up with fairly good incline at about
70 MPH, just knowing that if I didn't, I just wouldn't have made it to work on time! Yeah, that was kind of scary, but this
wagon did okay with a little bit of fishtailing but without completely loosing control.

I love this wagon it needs a good exhaust a boss 429 hood scoop tubed with a four link a better grill and front bumper drop it down in the back and it would be a real head turner hot rod. Don't forget the fuel cell so you dont blow up, i haven't seen a Pinto wagon since the late seventies. I do love it cool as hell id buy it if i could, but you got to throw in the trans am hood
