I saw a lot of comments asking how long the hat was before finishing it and responded with what I got, but figured I'd add a separate comment with the info. I just finished it to the specified size (100g of worsted weight yarn, 8mm needles, 48 stitches around) and it came to 31" or 78.5cm long before folding and finishing. I hope this helps!
Thank you for the video! I’ve been teaching myself how to knit after years of crocheting. So glad you also continental knit, that’s been the easiest method for me to learn since I’ve been so used to carrying the yarn in my left hand with crocheting. Appreciate the step by step tutorial. Wonderful and beautiful work!
I completely love this pattern. Thanks CJ for posting this video. I just made it in one day, and it looked great! I can't wait to make many more! Although, I played around with the number of casts and rows. It looked great. I used a different size needle (U.S 8 needle) with number 4 yarn, and the result was the same. 👌👌

@cjdesignsblog, you are an amazing designer and I greatly appreciate your willingness to share your talents with us ☺. I have one question. How to you keep the ends from curling and how is it that you have the same stitch look, on the portion that is folded, too? Thank you!
Thank you so much for your videos. I am fairly new to circular knitting and your videos have helped me tremendously. If I want to use a longer circular needle, how do I determine the amount of stitches to cast on?
I think you just cast on the number of stitches you would with the 16in circular needle. But then you need to split them in half (so cast on an even number) and do the magic loop technic, which is what i do!
I am not sure. With so many holiday projects lined up and extra work, I did not get a chance to make one. I would use worsted or a 4 weight as it goes faster without the bulk of of a bulky weight. I usually cast on about 88 to 92 as I knitted larger stitches. It depends on how you knit based on trial and error.
@@lauracashman14 thank you for your reply! I cast on 52 stitches because i couldnt believe it would work with them stretched around so thinly. But it did. I guess trial and error must be gone through
