This video was a masterpiece, glad you did this session with Dom. Here are my top learnings from the session-
- You don't need politics to change the world, a good design can do that too!
- Blending knowledge of engineering and design together can get some very powerful.
- You need to convenience your design to people, that's where you show them the numbers and it's big impact.
- The society is cheating? they are copying what they like, that is where you should learn to give credit.
- Feedback is important, and negative feedback is even more important because it helps you grow.
My top learnings
1.Shift to Humanity Centric Design (H+CD)
2.Recognize the Influence and Responsibility of Designers
3.Blend Design Skills with Business Acumen
4.Embrace Feedback and Continuous Improvement
5.Adapt to Emerging Technologies (AI in Design)

- Designer really deserves more importance and appreciation, a very good point by don

But, the entire podcast is very amazing and I learned many lessons from this podcast❤
Thank you so much Don Norman sir and Ansh❤🙏
I know, there is a YT Bug :( We've added captions for the entire episode 😄
Ansh Mehra has gone beyond delivering great conversations; he also provides "podcast notes" .....grateful...top-quality stuff.
Listening to Don, he sounds not just smart and knowledgeable about his subject but also has an aura of wisdom and enlightenment. He's above the usual UI/UX bro's consumerist hustler mentality. He knows what's important.
omg ye channel ko 7k subscribe pe dekha tha maine first time aur today father of UX design guest banke aaye.
When I first came across this channel, it had 7k subscribers. Today, the father of UX design was a guest.🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
How much time before
Thanks for this video!!🙌
🌟 Just immersed myself in an enlightening discussion by Ansh Mehra and Don Norman on UX design. Norman's emphasis on human-centricity and the significance of negative feedback for growth resonated deeply. The perspective on AI as a collaborative tool, not a replacement, is a game-changer. Excited to apply these insights to my design journey! 💡🎨
Thanks for this video, Ansh! Such great insights from the man himself. I am in awe! 👏🏻
Just want to put this out here.
When I started my mechanical engineering curriculum in 2020, I was not attracted to the traditional pathway, I started through design and that was the time I picked up "The Design of everyday things" and it changed how I looked and interacted with things. And now I am seeing this podcast, I just want to thank Ansh on behalf of everyone for making this happen, and giving us this insightful conversation.
Hope to make a change in the world through my work one day! Grateful!
This video was very valuable and it helped me see and learn design from a very different and interesting perspective. So, here are some of my top learnings:
1. Design is all about applying
2. When approaching businesses regarding the environmental impacts, do not approach them with problems, instead approach them with solutions, backed by data and spreadsheets
3. Do not feel shy about asking for help. You can get a lot of great things done if you get help from other smart people.
4. Finding good critics who help you make things better is valuable.
5. Always be open to criticism. Getting feedback, especially negative feedback is a good thing
6. Always change your mind
7. Testing is crucial in design
8. Do not learn by subject, instead learn by projects
9. Have many different disciplines
Thankyou for providing the notes, they really help save time when you're on the go
What an awesome session with Mr. Don Norman, Thanks Ansh for this. Mine top key learning was, learning to become exceptional in your field you should be Muti-dimensional, Mr. Norman said he was an engineer and knew how the technology works plus he always learning how to design with Apple company designers. 😄
What an influential personality Don is. Definitely not a podcast fan but loved this one, his stories and understanding of design just got me. We need more of this Ansh on The Cutting Edge Show. Appreciated for giving the insights and learnings of this session within the episode.
This video is very much valuable.❤
Here are my learnings jotted down from the podcast.
1. Use Design thinking to create sustainable products that focus on Humanity Centered Design.
2. Designers with business knowledge make impactful products.
3. See negative feedback as a chance to learn and improve.
4. Do not emphasize on problem rather show them the solution.
5. Learning by projects is to apply gained knowledge in the respective domain.
Vary unexpected but a really great person, thanks for bringing him on the show🎉🎉
OMG! this was simply an amazing one. Loved every bit of the interview. Such different perspective on thoughts. Don Norman sir is a STAR! My fav was about "Cheating". Thank you so much Ansh for this superlative video. Cheers!! ❤
To have interviewed Don Norman oh my god 😭 congrats and love this video!!
Loved the video, it was very insightful.
I learnt that we should care for the environment while making a product.
We should learn about diverse things and incorporate and relate things to our work(design).
We should focus more on doing things that we love to do.
We should learn to relate our design with business and analyze problems to convince clients.
We should always try to include data when pitching ideas to someone.
This podcast is a wonderful and not at all monotonous. How he shared his story and experience he learned in the journey was amazing, I have learned not only about design but also other valuable life lessons such as :
1. Design should focus on human centered design.
2. Getting feedback is important to grow yourself.
3. Pitch ideas with presentation showing data, numbers and profits.
4. How criticism help you to improve your skills.
5. Always learn new things apart from your comfort zone or interest.
6. AI is powerful tool and it will be more effective use for designers.
7. Theoretical knowledge isn't enough, doing project is applying your skills to grow as a pro.
8. Always collaborate and work with others to learn and establish relationship with them.
9. Don't cheat instead give credits.
10. Business must think about consumer needs, pain points and their convenience.
Thank you sir Don Norman and sir Ansh mehra for this podcast
kudos to you ansh for hosting Don got so many insights from this video.
This 50 min just finished very quickly , i didn't even realised . It was so engaging conversation . After this conversation i wanted to know more about don Norman and his work , as a psychology student and the one who is beginner in UX design .
i have gained so many new insights .
And my key learnings are :
1] Learn by Projects and Ask why are u learning some thing , what is the Problem that you are addressing .[Basically i got a new approach on how to learn things].
2]Being curious and open to learn about every field , and how to apply design with other fields.
3]And , this insight i learned from pdf notes format , that whenever You learn something new , Take some small "CTA'S" [STEPS] ., And always seek feedback and be open to learn from it.
THANKS 🙌 ansh for this insightful podcast , and for providing notes with specific Cta's. It really helps a lot.
I was waiting for this video and what a podcast awesome. Making projects I think this valuable lesson I learned. Now I ordered Design for everything book from Daraz and read it. Thanks Ansh for providing such awesome podcast. Your hardwork making us better Designer. ❤❤
You have an amazing podcasting vibe, man. All the best.
Great insights!! Thankyou so much for creating this video!
This video is priceless.. I am blown away. I am speechless.
Really Liked This episode. I was feeling like im sitting with both of you guys for real. It was really informative and Interesting. It becomes more interesting when two teachers are there to guide us. Thank you so much ansh bhaiya for this episode Keep it up!
Here's my comment: Sir Norman really I was really excited for this video and here it is a lot of things to learn about the collaboration of design with business, and humanity centric design 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much for making this video.
What a mind-blowing chat beyond just design.
My major takeaway is the significance of transitioning from mere human-centred design to a more holistic approach- humanity-centred design.
This perspective urges us to focus not only on individual needs but on creating solutions that positively impact society and the environment.
I don't know, was it only me the sound is missing in some part of video. Thank god, the subtitles are there. In all great session.
Thanks ansh, it has been a really valuable episode 🙌🏻
Wow. Thanks a lot ansh. Really this video helpings me what should focus as a designer.got the motivation
Now i onwrads i wil do documenting everything what ever i learn
Justtt wowww!🤩thanks for this great insight Ansh!
Learn lot from your previous Videos ❤
yt bug is not in ansh's hands , it was a great session ansh 😊.lessons I learned that design is about applying.
2 funding good critic who help you make it better is very valuable
3 Not afraid of -ve feedback & learn as a teacher and apply every field knowledge that you have to building a project.
I am a rookie in UX/UI Design and it's a kind of ritual now that I feel insecure about my progress daily, how am I going to improve my design skills and my knowledge. There are so many people better than me, am I doing enough? Such videos really help me get back on my learning track, yes, I am new here, but it won't be forever. Thank you for your content, Bro. And it would be really helpful if you could talk about insecurities with the designers, for beginners like me because when you start something there is a lot that goes on simultaneously.
I can literally feel you bro... Just keep going🙌
Ansh please fix the audio issue.
And thankyou for this amazing video, i have been waiting for this for so long.
just started reading his book now!
Big thanks to Ansh Mehra for bringing this insightful conversation to us!
Below I'm sharing my top learnings from this amazing video ...
- We need "Humanity Centric Design," H+CD, in the modern world.
- Always include metrics in your idea pitches that clearly demonstrate growth and profitability.
- He emphasizes the need of using concrete financial indicators to inform design decisions and promotes awareness of ideas like margin, current worth of money, and computing sales figures.📈
- In order to create an atmosphere that is supportive of learning and creativity, he also emphasizes the importance of cooperation and giving credit where credit is due.
- studying skills within the framework of a project helps you to understand why you are studying them in the first place.
-Norman emphasizes the need of design solutions that strike a balance between sustainability and profitability and urges designers to learn the lingo and viewpoints of non-designer executives.
- Designers will be able to solve complex problems with AI, just as programmers were helped by compilers.
Thank You so much Ansh for sharing such fabulous content for the begineers like me.
Means a lot me us, for such valuable content. ❤
Wonderful Human being DON is...😍
Top 3 learnings:
1. Try to have your own voice in your writing.
2. Collaborating with social changemakers can equip designers to translate their skills into tangible societal impact.
3. Designers should be taking on key roles in influencing strategic choices.
thankyou so much 🧿
We Should Not Stop Learning In Life 💯🎯
Edit= Thank You Ansh Mehra Sir For Giving Heart At My Comment & I Have Completed All Steps That Have You Said Not For Book But For My Learning From Book.
Again proudly to say: ENGINEERS CAN DO EVERYTHING ❤❤
Right learnings at right time is always the need of time...
I am trying to pug myself in this design world though i am from commerce background
And still struggling with where to start from though i have started with figma but thats kind of theoretical part, and i believe in subject lyk designing practical aplication always makes a difference.
As DON sir said i will always start with giving a project and let them solve it.
My top 3 Learnings that i am going to incorporate in my life for sure are :-
1. Learning Business- Don made me realize how ignorant i was about about knowledge about how real world things actually work.
2. Learn from others- Its a lot of things others can teach me, just ask them and he just told us how its done.
3. Blending my past knowledge- Use all you got for eg- I just came out of an entrance exam(CEED 24) for which i learnt how to draw and this new skill that i just learn can be used in multiple ways in my designs.
My best learning was knowing that design as a field has no limitations. I never thought of designers as politicians but I can understand how important it is. I was also very unsure as I was not able to connect my fields as now I am pursuing my master's in design but now I know how I can do that. will take some time but I realise this was only an awesome feeling.
this was really helpful ❤️.. but what did we miss where the video was muted? cz it seems like some thing important 😀
Hey Ansh, I just put my hands on your UI & UX course with figma as well...lets see how it goes...hopefully I'll finish the course ASAP...You are doing an amazinggg job👍👍👍...I were hovering around diff. Courses & had no deep knowledge about UI-UX, but one day I came across your videos...nd decided to go forward with this one with your videos & guidelines..✌️✌️
Are you a beginner
How's it going? I am too in the same track...
30:02 time stamp - video gets muted for few seconds.
32:40 time stamp - video gets muted for few seconds.
Multiple audio issues in the video. Please look whether we can resolve this.
This is my first time watching this podcast Ansh, perhaps we can move the notes at the end, or give some transition to notes section -it comes very sudden and it had a jarring effect.
I was checking if my phone has some problem 😂
Yep, sadly it’s a bug by UA-cam, we rendered everything well but YT messed it up.
Ya I was also checking my phone 😅
Podcast notes 😻😻😻😻
ANSH WITH THE UX LEGEND ITSELF LOVE THIS VIDEO😍
Inspiring!
1:14 intro
2:43 why in this show?
6:30 what missing for designers?
10:25 how to have a multi-perspective view?
17:15 how to have access to experts?
A big thanks to you Ansh.
Good evening bhaya
I learn three things from this episode
1.Take negative Feedback
2.Any product you build should be sustainable
3.Cheat if you want to learn
Thanks, man ❤
The design concept is all about applying ideas effectively.
Understand the importance of feedback, even the negative kind, for personal growth.
Lectures aren't just for learning; they provide motivation and inspiration.
Instead of starting with reading, engage in projects. When stuck, read for solutions to maintain interest.
Wooww just amazing Ansh🎉
Hey ansh, can you please suggest me what are some books that i must read as a beginner to become better each day and to implement things...

He said to make things that are easy to use and easy to understand.
Please watch this podcast.🙏
Thank you everyone!
And stop calling me "Sir." My name is Don. I don't believe in titles.
Legend 🙏🏻
Hi ansh ✨
Why is it muted here and there ?
My Key Lesson → 💡 Rather than selling products, we should provide services and experiences while reducing waste.
well two ux gods in one video
I think this video has an audio issue. It got fully muted 3 times suddenly. I don't know if I'm the only one facing this problem. I think I missed some valuable parts. 😢
Hii,... That it the awesome sessiona 👍🤯.
Can you plz summarize this session in a short video in Hindi as well.
Please! I requested.
There are a few audio glitches I guess, thrice the audio went mute
This is a great video giving other kinda thoughts and imagination. Now I am on a mission to change the word thoughts.
I faced some issues in videos as It has no voice. ANsh Please have a look.

Lost volume on 30:03 , 30:45, 48:21 ... in this video.. why?
17:36 Most people never pick up the phone and call, most people never ask. And that's what separates sometimes the people that do things from the people that just dream about them,” says Steve Job
Hi Ansh, Happy New Year. I saw many of your videos on Chat GPT and other AI tools. You have shared a weblink on Sandeep Maheshwari Sir show which shows that AI tools related to our particular domain. I did not find any relevant information with respect to my domain i.e. Regulatory Affairs (Pharmaceuticals). Can you please help me out what are the free and paid AI tools available for a RA professionals working in the field of pharmaceuticals. That would of great help. We basically work for the preparation of documentation and dossiers for registration of medicines in the domestic country and across the globe. Many thanks and wish you the most and more....
ANSH MEHRA SIR PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON BEST VIDEO EDITING AI WEBSITES
