Your patient and purposeful sour dough instructions have leveled up my own sour dough journey. I just needed to take a moment to thank you for sharing your recipes and knowledge with us. My family enjoys everyone of your sour dough recipes and I enjoy the simple and clear instructions. God bless you! We are homesteading with a family of 10. 🤗
I am watching this video on New Years Day and one of my goals this year is to get my spaces more organized. So inspiring watching you manage your large household and just break it up into small manageable tasks. I tend to get overwhelmed with all that I need to do and not know where to start and then nothing gets done. Here’s hoping I can follow your inspiration.
Really enjoy the homemaking style videos. Inspires me in my own homemaking. I appreciate the length of the videos. I don't always have time to watch a 30 minute video in one day and a shorter one like this I am often able to watch all at once.
You make this lifestyle look so effortless! It seems overwhelming at first but I find the more things I incorporate and get to feeling comfortable doing, the easier it becomes 😊 it’s been a journey!
You are the reason my sourdough is so successful!! I was freaking out trying to be on time for everything and just basically trying way too hard...once you taught me to relax and not be so stressed by it I have made some really good breads and pizzas!! I think organization is a struggle in every family lol lol
Hi Lisa and hello to all of your lovely children and you kind and supportive hubby…I so very much enjoy your channel listen to all your food shortcuts and creativity…I love when you pick a beautiful bouquet of flowers around the farm and during flowering weather. Your Herb Garden looks great. I love your relationship with your siblings and your mom …. It is such a joy to be privileged to observe you going through various busy times in your day to day activity…I just love it so very much. Thank you and not sure if you have had #8 baby by now. I am sort of weaving forward and backward in time to eventually be current…Breathless!!! Your cooking, mothering, schooling, preserving, gardening, milking, making cheeses, yogurt, Kefir etc, your craftiness with sewing and designing as well as shopping always being thrift conscious. I love that you have a Breville espresso machine…you are or at least appear to have an everlasting battery…(big loving heart) … Again thank you for sharing your lovely family… you are a wonderful wife, a terrific lots of energy Mom, a great sister to help out and share ideas with,.
The chocolate bread looked amazing!!!!!!. So did the chili and the ice cream!!! Wow!!! Reorganizing is so rewarding, even if it’s temporary!!! God bless you and your family.
I live in a crowded multi-family apt in the city and your videos are like a dream... I love watching and admire your self-sufficiency... even though my setting is so different, I like to glean what I can and add it to my setting. We are in MA and there are a lot of farms not too far of a drive away. We like to visit some of them, too, for things. God bless you!
I like that you are mentioning your blog more. watched you for years it seems and only the last few months started visiting your blog bc you mentioned there was a recipe on there. I know you said on a podcast you'd rather just blog and as a blogger, I highly encourage you to pursue that. thanks for your wonderful content and helping other mothers
Somehow our crafts cabinet ends up the same, so I'm glad to see it's not only here that that happens. I resigned myself to the fact I need to reorganize that once or twice a year. I recently tool up crocheting so I need to find a place to store that. It's in a basket at the moment. These kind of easy meals or sometimes so handy, simply because lifeget away with you sometimes and you need a quick and still healthy meal to eat. My go to is white chicken chili. My daughter recently saw a recipe for cowboy stew so she want to try that so that will be an easy meal the coming week. I usually plan one or two such meals each week especially in winter. And these kind of meal are for me also an easy way to learn her cooking because she can make simple meals herself without having to cut a lot of veggies or meat.
Fantastic! That bread looks so so good I can’t wait to try the recipe!! I like how you videoed going to The pantry and collecting your supplies for dinner. I also liked how you added in your photography, that adds a perfect touch of authenticity to the video!
The heifers breed may also have something to do with the flavor/ cream profile.. but remember the beginning of the lactation is usually a thinner consistency, the major cream comes at the end for fattening the calf
Too funny. My grandfather was the Chief of the Detroit Fire department in the late 50’s, and was known for his cooking. Just made his chili Mac last night. Thanks Lisa, as always, looks yummy!
Another lovely video. I make several loaves of babka for Christmas, a couple of the loaves I use Nutella with chunks of chopped dark chocolate. I did enjoy the journey. Cheers!
Thanks for the encouragement to tackle cluttered spots. I’ve been putting off dealing with one of my kitchen cabinets for a while and maybe I’ll invest the time to fix it today! Love your videos!
Today I needed to get rid of some sourdough discard and I spontaneously stirred it right into my oatmeal while it was simmering. Delicious, and super creamy with that good sourdough tanginess.
Thank you for another wonderful video, Lisa! I love these cozy homemaking videos in winter, when life just seems to go a little bit more slowly and I enjoy spending more time by the warmth of the fire and in the kitchen. God bless you and your family! ☀️
That Babka looked so delicious and beautiful. Two of our dearest friends are coming to visit next month and this will be lovely to serve to them in the morning or actually any time of day. I might have to practice making it first before they come 😉. Thank you
One thing about the lazy thing- I think it's important to note that your needs change. Sometimes you'll need more or less, and that's okay! Your house is meant to be lived in, not be set for the rest of your life.
I made your chocolate babka this week and it was SO good. I loved the contrast of the tangy sourdough with the chocolate. I want to try making it with cinnamon and apples.
Our jersey calves in April too. Really looking forward to it. 💕 I find it interesting that you find the milk tastes different. A lot of people say that (from breed to breed) I have only tried jersey milk myself.
Hi Lisa, I enjoy your videos because they calm me down. You remind me of a much younger me when my kids were little and if I wanted something I usually tried to make it due to money constraints! They are all grown up now with young children of their own, but I miss those days
Hi Lisa, hope you & yours are well. I always enjoy watching. I love your beautiful cozy home and life style. Your bread & goodie baking is awesome. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge on bread making. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Until next time take care.😊
Hi, Lisa..... : ) Your pantry looks great! The only thing I would add - - since you said that so many of you access that cabinet, why not label each clear container so that you know exactly where it all goes at a glance? I bet that would help to keep it organized longer, esp with other little hands getting in there. Great job, tho, looks great & is inspiring me to go organize something! :)
Your chili con carne looked so good it made me hungry. I guess it's lunchtime here. I had never considered a brioche sourdough. The babka looks divine. I don't like sweets, but I love meal accompaniments or desserts like this one.
Love your videos! Been a subscriber for a couple of years, when you had a wedding in your barn. Wish your videos were longer, always sad when they end! Thank you for them.
I know you have to edit your videos so that we can get a glimpse of your day/life but you make it look easy. After I make a double loaves of bread I don’t want to cook for the rest of the day😂
Your videos and food always look so beautiful. You are so inspiring, and I'm always mentioning you in my videos. LOL You just move through your house with such purpose and ease. One day I hope to be on your level with my homemaking. :)
Love your videos! I might be 69 but could you please adopt me🤣I love the peace you guys convey in them. I grew up on a farm in Pa and your videos remind me a lot of the way I grew up. Thank you!
Have you tried giving your cow a vitamin E supplement? It really helps with milk flavor especially during times when they aren’t getting green grass which is where it would naturally come from. Unfortunately it degrades and isn’t available in the hay. I have a cow that needs supplementation her entire lactation. Between that and putting milk in half gallon jars in the the freezer for 2.5 hours after milking (always set the timer first, I’m ashamed to admit how many jars I’ve forgotten and broke by freezing) it makes a world of difference in milk flavor.
I hope it works for you. Nothing more frustrating than doing all the milk to work and not enjoying the product. We give our cow 3,000 iu (I think that’s the unit of measurement 🤔) daily. We get it in powder form from valley vet but I’m pretty sure you can use capsules for human use too.
All homes get decluttered! I stay fairly well on top of mine, but there comes a time all the organization has to be redone. Can’t wait to try that bread!
I really love the music you played at the beginning of this video. What is it called? - I'm not a video creator, I just really love the the song. Nice choice! :) Also, how did you know I needed cabinets! Uncannily good suggestions, per usual. :)
I was looking for your chili recipe that you did in this video, and I couldn't find it on your blog. How can I get a copy of the recipe? It looked wonderful.
I just through some things together...no written recipe. Just make a basic chili recipe and put over noodles and garnish with cheese, sour cream and avocado or whatever else your family would like. I did use sausage for the meat and black beans...
There are many egg substitutes that you can try, some for purchase and some you can just find recipes for on the internet. You may have to experiment to find the best one...I don't think that condensed milk will do the job of eggs though...
No, it's not on the blog as I just throw things together for it. Really you can use a regular chili recipe and just use sausage instead of ground beef...throw it over noodles and add toppings.
@@FarmhouseonBoone I don't think my starter was at it's peak. I kneaded the dough 15 min and nothing was changing...I thought the bills ferment would make it not so sticky
