      @@joonasmakinen4807 As long as the drone isnt ordered to go from its current position in the horizontal plane, the accelerometer does not output any data. Its as simple as that. What is displayed is NOT a compass. It is an indicator of direction of movement of the drone relative to ground.
      What I just said here is the exact same thing Wally said, using other words. If the drone doesnt move in the horizontal plane, there will be no input, hence no reason to change the output.
      Pitch and roll are internal measurements within the drone. Alas a totally different thing.
      Besides, the average drone generally dont care about neither pitch or roll.

      The drone has to be traveling forward or backward or sideways to produce cardinal directions, this drone went straight up and then straight back down . You can see when it gets back into Will's hand or whoever grabs it at the end, the compass starts going nuts as the drone gets handled. You can also see it at approx 17-20 minutes as the drone starts slightly rolling and the roll meter twitches, the compass moves too.

    • @kevinmccoy781
      @kevinmccoy781 18 днів тому

      @@DeusEx_Machina why does it have to move? That's not my experience with compasses, drones with compasses, or phones with compasses. They just need to rotate once to measure the field and determine the highest/lowest level and from then on can show which way the device is facing regardless of movement. The only devices I've experienced that have to move first is if they're using GPS in lieu of actual magnetism and then they're only able to indicate direction of motion, not heading. It just seems strange to include the overlay in this video since it's so obviously wrong the whole time and could present an opportunity for someone to try to discredit it over a silly data error.
