- This is a power mod that is done properly and a safe way so you can turn power up and down with screw that Makes the hammer spring block press up,but you can only turn the screw so far or hammer will not engage.

I always enjoy watching a pro at work. Well done sir!
This is absolutley one of the most informative and straight-forward videos that I have seen on youtube. Thank you for making and posting it. I strongly agree with the many other viewers encouraging/requesting that you please continue to make and post future videos. A hearty "Well Done" from across-the-pond.
Well said mate. Spot on.
Excellent video David, thanks very much. Just followed it word for word and mod done!!
Great to see someone who actually knows what he's doing. Sub'd.
Pretty informative and professional way better than just sticking cardboard in anyway
thanks David --did this mod to both my dan wessons and worked perfectly. Great mod. Subscribed for more tips from the Doctor.
Very creative way to power it up a little place and 2 screws madness thanks for an idea
awesome job, incredibly simple now that we see it here, thankyou
This is a brilliant video,it's the best way by far to power up this gun, please make more videos!
brilliant, keep up the good work.looking forward to seeing more videos.thank you.
Awesome vid mate, I've just bought the umarex legends s25 version of this revolver.... at some point in the future I might up the power so this vid is excellent
Brilliant! Thank you so much. Subscribed.
This modification is great, but if you take off the co2 valve and open it and make the washer inside much thinner you get alot more power.
Does this work?
And do you know of any other possible modifications?
I have a 2.5 inch dan wesson, have been researching on exacly what what works on increasing the power, and it seems like the only mod that actually could work is replacing that washer, nothing else besides barrel increase seems to be real.
Have you done this and did it actually worked? Does any one know if a thinner washer is better or actually a fatter washer would be better?
Just one question, and firstly thank you for this video! Will this work in increasing output power for the .177 pellet version as well?
Thank you Dr Gunsmith
Dr. Gunsmith how am I only finding you now? You are exactly what I'm going to need when shit hits the FAN!
thx man the best tutorial i've found so far
PS: I think it's a M4 screw
Was it def a m4 screw?
Great idea. I suggest to polish te "front surface" of the screw an apply some grease on it, so the aluminium "cup" wount wear too fast. By the way.. I just bought one and thinking of regrease it from factory greases. There is a problem because i dont know which oils/greases put on different surfaces. If You have some free time, please make the video about it. It will be sweet;-)
its the same here in canada, our guns have "low flow" valves and no power adjustment
I just did this mod. it was the easiest mod I've done yet. I added blue loktite to the exposed screws.
Its a m4 nut and screw..but!! It does nothing to my pellet version ive screwed the screw in as far as it goes in and over my chronograph theres is absolutely no power increase 👍
How much more velocity can this modification be expected to yield? Thanks!
Many thanks for the video dood. Very informative, Is it the same setup in the ASG Dan Wesson 715 6" Revolver? I would like to be able to tweak the power down slightly without running low power shells as these reduce the fps too much. My only other option is to drill out the centres of the low power shells to find a happy medium between the low and standard power. Thoughts?
Nicely done, mate! How hard is it to fit the rifled barrel and where can you get it from? I need it for an 8" though.. Cheers!
There no fps test before and after
So how do you know it works
Perfect vid, thank you so much can u do one for the newer Dan Wesson 715 pellet version please
👍 ... Crosman SNR357 .... I use Hornady and GAMO ... Welcome to my family Dan Wesson is part compatible with the SNR357
Great video thanks.
my powermod for ~40joules .177 is one drillbit and custom made round out of .22 lr shell.
now i know what i gonna do :) thanks alot !
Should be effective and it is definitely interesting. However there are some cons to this method since all tuning is actualy a compromise isn't it. increased trigger pull weight which also increases the rate of wear upon the trigger bearing surfaces and finally increased co2 release /less shots per bulb. Still I might give it a go.
Use the shortest bolt you can or the head of the bolt will stop the grip fitting properly making it loose and rocky.
9/32” (screw)bolt and nut fit perfectly in mine
Cual eran las potencias antes y después de esta modificación ?
Thanks for help i’ve been having a reoccurring issue where the hammer will not strike the gun or the fake firing pin to go off
I subscribeed, u seems to be a great pro...
looking at the insides of this pistol we could all see the gas valve (it had a red strip across it), and it's the lowest power valve as only the low power valve has the red stripe, if you change this valve for the 8-inch barreled pistol valve, that has no red strip across it, that would bump up the power far more than pushing the hammer spring to its limit and in doing so you make the trigger pull much harder, however changing the gas valve come's at a price, but it's money well spent
I know this is old now but great tutorial, what size screw/bolt please?
By increasing the spring force, the trigger button also needs more force, and it will break before time!
Hello there, I live in the US and was hoping you could share your insight on cartage modification as their is no speed limit where I am.
david, hello.
enjoyed your tune up video re dan wesson. i have a ruger super hawk 6mm co2 [8"]
can i use this mod on my ruger, how far can you tighten the screw, is it a case of trial and error? what about the best type of bb's best to use? any more videos on this tune up subject coming up? thanks
Did you Chrono the Dan Wesson? I suspect that even with this modification it would only put the gun at around 3ft lb - Im in Durham with a Chrono if you would be interested in adding numbers to this video. Regards
Class Bro...
thank you sir..
thx, very good tutorial ;]
Hi David thank you for interesting video regarding in increasing the power of a CO pistol . Could the same mod be done to a Webly MK 6 CO revolver
It would be best , to.use a crono , to keep a eye on how much power the adjustment is improving too. Nice video
Thank you. I refer to your video
OK...I just received my 2.5in Dan Wesson Pellet gun. With the barrel pointed down, I noticed there is an air gap between the cartridge and the little black seal on the rear of the frame...about the width of a pocket knife blade. If I push the cylinder back towards the hammer, the gap goes away. Do I have a defective airgun?
More power thru the cap? Interesting 😊
What is the screw and bolt mm he uses when he tunes the power up? Please answer asap.
Excellent video, whens the next installment??.. May I please request your next video is also a revolver.... :P I am getting the 2.5mm next week... any further info on these guns is greatly appreciated
Hi,I'm not sure why it is lose but know that some are and I would take it back to the shop, but if that's not possible like mine as I striped them so mine was lose so I used plumbers tape on the back of the barrel but its tricky to do and used a very small amount of glue to keep it tight then put some in the pin holes then put pins in its been fine and had no problems,as there's not much you can do to make it fit better or be solid, that's the only bad thing about this gun.
two questions, this can not cause long-term damage to the weapon? and lose more gas than normal? that is, a bottle lasts 60 shots for example, will this modification decrease that amount? a greeting.
Any suggestion for where I can get the hex nut that is used to tighten the co2?
How exacly this mod works? And have you messured difference befor and after mod?
Looking towards owning one for defense without having to be scrutinized on the news :). Would leave a good dent before the box match :)
Great work..
Please make more videos.
Also, How to power up schofield co2 revolver??
hi thanks for this info . i have done the small nut on my dan wesson works great . is there anything i should do to the shells . thanks i know im 7 years late lol
Will you make video showing what you mean about the true 177 lead and the metal ones, you should make more vids your very good
Hi Dave are you from the northeast GREAT VIDEO
Hey, will this work on the asg 715 Dan Wesson 2.5 inch?
I know this is an old post but I've found this very useful. I use mostly 6mm airsoft replicas and I'll try using this method to actually lower the fps in my Co2 revolvers.
Do you know if other wingun revolvers have similar internals?
Is there a way to powerup a crosman vigilante? And would you use this powered up pellet for self defence?
So, that is basically the hammer spring we are screwing tight with the help of new nut and bolt. Right??
Will this also work on a crosman snr357?
They look extremely similar.
Hi great video , can you advise how to power up a sig p226 pellet blow back close sub 6 lbs uk
THX Man !!!
can you tell me how the rifle barrel worked out thanks
I'm looking to get the newer Dan wesson, 715 - 4" barrel.
Does anyone know of any good power mods for it??
Many thanks
Thanks bud
Hey there Mr Robinson can you please help me. I'm trying to increase the FPS on my Dan Wesson 8 inch revolver BB and I can't modify it due to its really, really tight screw. The last two that the handle covers are the ones that I'm having trouble with, which is kind of strange due to its size; I can bench press nearly 300 pounds ( so you can understand my frustrations), can you please tell me how I can unscrew them without damaging the gun or the screw?
Is it the same modification for Umarex Legends S25 177 air revolver thst's the one I have?.
Great video and great work and interesting information, don’t listen to the haters they don’t know shit.
It only makes it more consistent with the power
The nut and bolt are not going to give you more power to the air valve only to the trigger spring.
By changing the rubber bb insert to the bottom of the cartridge you will have more power.
What type or screw and washer was used, size?
I live in USA where there really aren’t limits on power of co2. I’d like to learn more about this subject
Great video and explanations! is there a possibility to put a gas canister that will be filled with air to turn it in to a pcp air gun? i'm thinking to replace the co2 cartridge and give it some more power. i have the ruger superhawk airsoft and i have replaced the inner barrel with a 60cm one(not for airsoft animore as it has too much speed) i use it for backyard target shooting
make the nozzle the same size as the co2 canister exactly and there
hi, I have a Dan Wesson CO2 6 inch 6mm BB pellets. you can upgrade it? if you like and where I can buy any spare parts? Thanks for all
Sorry iv not been on for a while as been ill for a while, but will be putting my custom Daystate Midas when I'm finished it that is.
hi david is it the same principle with the umarex beretta co2
Haven't done any modifications yet mine shoots 315 meters per second with a .40 gram airsoft bb totaling to 20 joules of power
So I'm going to go out on a hunch here that the Crossman SNR. 357 and the Dan Wesson 715 are the same air pistol. Everything is the same . The Dan Wesson 715 2 Gen is different though.
does this work on Ruger superhawk 8 co2 also ? :)
i hope you make some video of revolver shell modification to have higher fps
How can I get a hold of you for a few questions... I have the pellet and bb version.. cheers
Does anybody know where to get parts for these things at all.
Mine dumps the co2 out nearly instantly.
I cant find a replacement valve, or gasket kit anywhere.
Theres no numbers stamped on the valve, no nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Can you explain how to do the orther mods I.e Hammer sping and shells please
This is the only Co2 I know of that you can do this with thanks for asking, and sorry for not getting back to you all,but I'm so busy at the moment and with my five kids I just don't get much time on here, thanks.
Dr Gunsmith thanks.for.the.great.video.when.you.upen.up.the.gun.will.anything.fly.out
is there anything else we can do as ive done that mod with not a lot of improvement just uses gas a lot quicker
thanks bud, you sounds geordie? im from consett, and i see you have lots of extra cartridges, where would you advise me getting them? havnt actually bought the gun yet but ill need some extra cartridges.
I don't live that far from you mate I'min Durham,I bought my extra cartridges from ebay but not sure if they sell them now but if you just look on the Internet you will find loads that sell them, thanks for asking.
where you buy these guns
can we get this gun without a ukara ?
I whant do this to mine Ruger of Umarex its also a WG but its a 8 shooter instead of 6 and easy to load to,
But i whant less power how i can do that the best weaker spring , its 360 Max in my country fore side-arms
Sorry about the Video cutting short as I was not finished but for some reason all of it did not load up,lol
Size of the bolt?
Can you do the same thing with the legends S25
is it possible to do a co2 leak fix videos for the dance weston
Can you make all of them more powerful
Hi David, great video by the way! ive just bought myself the six inch chrome version and ive got a problem with the barrel being a tad loose and i wondered if you had any ideas to tighten it up? im guessing its help in place by the two rolled rivets at the top of the frame above the cylinder? any ideas on how to expand them to tighten the barrel up?
Hi, i realize this is an old comment but if it can help someone down the line, if not you, then its worth it.
'The barrel'you are referring to is most likely the outer shell in which the actual barrel is held, spring loaded with some allowed linear movement in order to create the situation in which the shells/cylinder line up as the revolving mechanism is engaged prior to a shot.
This barrel/shell is held in place by 2 pins yes. And again, yes one of them is located above the cylinder but the second one is actually in the shell ejector rod recess. Ive had similar issues with the barrel being somewhat loose as well. In order to fix the problem, i have concentrated on the upper retaining pin above the cylinder as it is by far the less fragile location of the two as far as being able to take moderate pouding or a new pin and/or where material is plentiful to allow for some work/reshaping/drilling to be done.
What i did was change the pin to one of a slightly larger diameter, enlarging the hole on the barrel shell in order to have it slightly undersized. This allows for press-fitting the pin in and a couple thousandths should be sufficient - more could posibly make the pin not go in at all without some visible damage. Once this is done, carefully enlarge the holes on the frame to match and drive in your (newly created and blued) retaining pin
