  • Neko rigs are one of the best tools anglers have for bass fishing. They can be used in a variety of ways and in a variety of situations. The problem is, they aren't weedless and can get snagged on just about anything. A day of fun bass fishing can turn into a real grind when you constantly have to pick trash off your bait after every cast. In this video we'll discuss a new way to fish a neko rig that is completely weedless! #fishing #bassfishing #fishingtips

    Is the neko rig a part of your bass fishing arsenal?

    I watch your videos often. I didn't catch it if you said it but I would like to suggest using the elaztech worm such as those from Z-Man. That floating last tech really stand up and wiggle on this setup. I'm certainly going to give it a try.

      Zman worms would work great...if they weren't so hard to pierce. Trying to put a nail weight into elaztech is not very fun.

    I'd call it the Lowbro Senko. Do you ever insert the nail weigh into the side towards the head so it doesn't fly out as often?

    • @LowBrowFishing
      @LowBrowFishing  2 місяці тому

      I've not had problems with the nail weight flying out. But I would suggest adding a drop of super glue to hold the nail weight in if needed.

      If the hook is facing the head as I see you are doing, it will never be weedless. I use the weedless neco hooks and never get hung in my very weedy lakes. The hook point always faces the tail or in other words the opposite way of away from the weighted end.

    So, I have a suggestion for your rig. Snell your hook and feed the point in like a typical Texas rig. But instead of pushing the worm only 1/4" onto the hook continue pushing the worm 1" or more onto the hook then bring the point outside and thread it back through the worm Texas style. You could then add a splitshot weight onto the line at the worm head. Just another idea.

    That looks killer! I hardly fish a regular wacky because I always get snagged so if this is half as good as a Waco then I'll be using it from now on!

    It's similar to a bungee rig but you don't have to sacrifice an old jig head and super glue it to a worm. I only wonder how the hookups would be with the hook like that.

    • @LowBrowFishing
      @LowBrowFishing  2 місяці тому

      The hookups are great, the worm usually slides up the line and out of the way.

    • @LowBrowFishing

      Very similar, but the line isn't threaded through the worm and the hook is placed far lower.

    Nice hack on the Neko Rig!!! Having the hook pointing does it affect the hook up?? Will have to try this set up!! In the video you said to use the Waco Rig in Shallow water & Neko in Deeper water, what's your depth for shallow & deeper?? Stay Safe & God Bless!!! 🤠👍

    • @LowBrowFishing
      @LowBrowFishing  2 місяці тому

      The hook doesn't get in the way of hookups at all. It generally gets knocked up the line like a neko or wacky rig. For me, shallow water is anything less than about 6-8 feet deep. I consider something like 10+ feet to be deeper water where I fish.
