So impressed with the revelations these folks had on their way to healing. Love this resort for offering such an amazing self awareness program for healing. Thank you.

Jon needs to cut and style his scraggly hair. That would make a big difference

True. He looks so unkempt. It would make people more willing to get acquainted with him at home if he took better care of himself, hygiene wise. 1st impressions DO make a difference.
Research says that we make a firm impression of someone in the first 7 seconds of introduction.

His hair might be his joy. I know for a long time of hating how I looked in the mirror, my hair was the only thing I thought was beautiful about me. Now I have to face the fact that because of my size I can't go to a beautician or even an eye doctor because I don't fit in their chairs. So now I am "unkept" and blind as a bat.
Btw, your comments are negative and unkind, not helpful. Definitely part of the problem of people tearing down others bit by bit.

I like his long hair .. It distracts from his weight a little and to me it sets him apart as artsy and unconventional which I see as positives !

We all worry about what others think of us and its really what we think of ourselves that we really need to worry about

if someone makes a nasty comment to you about your appearance, it says nothing about you and everything about the person making the comment.

I believe it's a great show. I think any show that strives to empower people, make them see the future in a brighter light, give them a little hope, is a fantastic show. The participants, well, they hurt. I hope that in time they will hurt less, if we can all take anything from this show is that we must be kinder to one another. Peace.

I love this series. I have to admit it is difficult to be at ease at times with larger people as we also sense their uncomfortableness as well. We are all the same under our skin, so an effort needs to be on each side. Repect and love one another.

I’m trying not to be rude so nobody jump down my throat, but I seriously don’t understand why when they say all these really sad things about themselves, like I disgust myself, that they don’t cut back on food. I know they want to, I don’t understand it. They seem to hate themselves and it’s very sad. The letters they wrote were so raw and utterly painful. I feel great sadness that they can’t snap out of the addiction to eating.

Yes. Personal responsibility is the key and their sadness is self-inflicted.

Food addiction is like any other, you can’t just “snap out of it”. Very obese people have often had early life trauma and eating is a coping mechanism, the same as some take to drugs or alcohol. You can be utterly miserable and loathe yourself and your body, and keep eating because it’s your main source of comfort. It’s sad that people seem to be more judgmental of obese people than alcoholics and drug addicts.

@@Lily-Loveberry It does seem akin to alcoholism. And we all have vices. These folks are simply unfortunate enough that their issue is harder to hide.
