But wouldn't it be a simple thing to have a shelf that comes out from beneath the door whenever the door is openned? That way you could wipe your boots before you step into the cab. Some of these operators don't stay on the path when they're walking around.
UA-cam pays very well if u have a half million subscribers or more, fair play to him I only discovered his channel recently but I see his videos go back years so he's worked his way up with subscribers and stuck with it. UA-cam money alone would pay for these machines every month and then he gets paid for his contracts. So it's win win for him.

Hey Chris, love the new machine, i do have a question or maybe a tip (even for you). Why arent you pushing the back of the bucket into the ground as a pendulum sort of to pull out stumps instead of just raising the boom? If you push out the stick and curl in your bucket, you use the back of the bucket for leverage and you're a lot stronger that way. I use it in demolition to break out reinforced concrete foundations so should also be applicable in your field

Chris. Well deserved! I figured that breakdown in May when you were working on the BG farm was the moment that you decided to order this. If i recall, a bad wiring harness took a week to get replaced and we could all feel the pain it caused you. Good luck with the new 220!

Well you sure did answer my question, I am really pleased and was happily surprised that it was a brand new with just PDI hours on it. Enjoy the ride and I can even smell the newness when you opened the office door (cab door). Look forward to being with you on the journey with this new machine, You will need to either put a number on each one or put a name plate so Mr Bealy Good can introduce them to his ducks etc.

To keep scratches on the downlow, you might want to look into a clear mask film to apply over the sides. It's effectively like a thick bonded Saran wrap made to reflect chips and scratches. Either way, quite nice to see a new whip.

The only visible difference from the new fly by wire to your pilot line mach is on your back sweep of the stump holes seems less forceful. The teeth stopped on the surface, instead of powering through to complete the back filling extention of the stick. Your movements were smooth and custommery. With all new stuff there is a feel, but maybe there is a tweek to be made in the infinately adjustable control. Again, a well deserved perk for all you hard work and long hours. Well done, Chris.

Hopefully, Volvo and the people at Ascendum gave you a great price for the tremendous amount of visibility you've given the Volvo brand. You might want to invest in a nano /ceramic film to protect the paint and the new bucket modifications are beast mode!

Congrats Chris. Obviously, the Volvo 220 is your go to machine. Having two will be a huge benefit, take on larger jobs, work two jobs with another operator and of course if one goes down you have options. Thanks very much for sharing.

Great explanation and demo of the bucket and thumb. I got about 80% of it but it’s clear that they are the heart and soul of productivity.

To keep scratches on the downlow, you might want to look into a clear mask film to apply over the sides. It's effectively like a thick bonded Saran wrap made to reflect chips and scratches.
Either way, quite nice to see a new whip.

This was a huge surprise. Congratulations on the new excavator. I don’t recall you mentioning that you were going to get another one but my memory isn’t what it used to be. I can’t wait to see it clearing trees, digging big holes and popping more stumps.
Chris complained about needing another excavator when he was having DEF problems with his original excavator.

The only visible difference from the new fly by wire to your pilot line mach is on your back sweep of the stump holes seems less forceful. The teeth stopped on the surface, instead of powering through to complete the back filling extention of the stick. Your movements were smooth and custommery. With all new stuff there is a feel, but maybe there is a tweek to be made in the infinately adjustable control. Again, a well deserved perk for all you hard work and long hours. Well done, Chris.

Congratulations Chris you work so hard to be in a position to buy a new machine. Hopefully, Volvo and the people at Ascendum gave you a great price for the tremendous amount of visibility you've given the Volvo brand. You might want to invest in a nano /ceramic film to protect the paint and the new bucket modifications are beast mode!
