      @@jbmocean399 Thnx for the reply m8. Just one question. Wot is Ur rig made up of in terms of memory and graphics, because Ur scenes tend to get pretty heavy. Do u think if I upgrade to a gtx 1660 6gb and 32gb ram it will be enough to get some decent viewport feedback and render times? Any feedback is welcomed. Cheers!!!

      @@kazi3d I have 32GB RAM and GTX 1060 6GB. Your plan for setup sounds good to me. As for your processor, more cores is gonna help out a lot when rendering (unless you are rendering a lot of simulations) - for that more cores wont help but high clock speed will.

    Incredible tutorial! Helped me a lot - only issue is once I have done the UV relaxed wrap 1) the head isnt unwrapped like yours and is a mess, the body is fine and 2) the texture still moves despite me applying the UV wrap, i have triple checked that we have the same points/edges selected and the same UV settings and its still not working, any ideas? :)

      Hi NikitaAhhh, it's been a while since I made this tutorial so certain things may have changed in the software. I wouldn't be able to say why you're having trouble, hope you can figure it out but I'm afraid I have no idea what could be the problem.

    what if i want to add a ik tag in order to move the tail of the snake in a realistic way (along the spline wrap)?

    • @jbmocean399
      @jbmocean399  3 роки тому

      That's a whole other tutorial. If the snake was properly rigged you could just animate the head and the rig would do it's thing. Check this out:

    dude you are awesome. this tutorial was so helpful and easy to follow, especialy for myself as a beginner. i had 1 issue that came up. towards the end, i couldnt move the model at all, the axis points moved and the tools came up. but the actual model didnt move at all. any idea what that could have been. im not sure if its a setting or ive pressed something i shouldn't have. i didnt have a spline to use at the begining when u added the spline wrap either.

    • @jbmocean399
      @jbmocean399  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Harpreet, thanks for watching! It sounds like you might have turned on 'Enable Axis' the shortcut for that is 'L' on your keyboard. If you turn it off you should be good to go. The button can be found just under the 'Polygon Mode' button. Hope that solves your issue!

    • @HarpreetGhagMedia

      @@jbmocean399 much appreciated dude, that seems to have done the job, i think it was because i had added the spline wrap when you had but just kind of ignored all the stuff u did with it and carried on when u went back to the model itself cause i didnt have a spline to use or know how to make one lol.

    教程真是太棒了,好喜欢这种暗黑风格。请教一下如果灯光是蛇的子级会更好吗?因为摄像机有时会拉近拉远。如果灯光做蛇的子级是错的,那么会产生什么错误?The tutorial is great, I really like this dark style。please teach me it’s better for the light to be a child of the snake, because the camera sometimes zooms in and out. If it is wrong for the light to be the child of the snake, what error will it produce?

    • @jbmocean399
      @jbmocean399  4 роки тому

      Hi Yongsheng Wu,
      You could make the light a child of something other than the camera. It all depends of the movement of the parent and if it is giving you the movement you want for its child. For me making the light a child of the camera worked as it gave me the movement I desired for the light in this situation. I would say give it a go and see what happens!

      @@jbmocean399 I tried using the light as a child of the snake and found it to be ineffective. I'm wrong. Because the snake's world position has not moved at all.我尝试了将灯光作为蛇的子级,发现是没效果的。我错了。因为蛇的世界位置根本没有发生移动。

    Thank yoou! Amazing tutorial! The only issue I'm having is that when the snake is following the spline, the head gets flatter and longer and distorts a little bit and it's quite noticeable. I did change the spline wrap mode from fit spline to keep length but the head is getting affected when moving especially at the end of the arcs of the spline. Any tips for that? Thank you!

    • @jbmocean399
      @jbmocean399  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Alex, I didn't notice this problem with my snake but I can see how it might be an issue with certain models. What you could do is paint a Vertex Map of where you want the Spline Wrap to affect your model. Then add a Restriction Tag to the Spline Wrap. In the Tag Properties, drag the Vertex Map Tag into the first field. Hope this helps.

    Hi , only part where i get stuck is at 48:30, when you relax the UV's , for me it becomes a long elipse , not the defined shape of the head. Tried couple of times but i am using R23 so the uv system is different i guess

    This whole tut is ripped off from a NAB presentation.
    The woman who worked on a promo for American Horror Story broke down a scene that is VERY similar to this.
    Maybe I’m crazy, but I’d be willing to be proven wrong.

    • @jbmocean399

NAB presentation skipped a whole bunch of important (hard to do) steps... Therefore I think a service has been provided instead of downright plagarism... Your move chief
