I died to that blade spinner in the grave plains within 30 seconds of finding the first sight of grace! NG+ and I’m level 470! 😵💫 SCADU-BELIEVE I need those blessings asap!!!
The only thing I wish I’d known before the dlc is how badly they were going to nerf some of my builds. Wish I could’ve prepped a different weapon on my mage for example
Incantations, w sorcery. And for my main weapon it's either the blasphemy or the cita pitA. Aka the holy claw with zero weight. Is great for the small areas I can't use a great sword.
If you need a good int weapon, Wing of Astel and Darkmoon still destroy pretty much everything even in the DLC. Wing for stance breaking and Darkmoon for damage, to be specific.
@@urtoryu_dy_althraidn yeah I feel that. I had to respec over to wing because I WAS using Dark Moon specifically as a stance break for enemies that would get up in my face and not let me cast from a distance. They nerfed the stance damage on dark moon though so I swapped to wing of Astel and it’s doing alright.
DO NOT KILL the kindred of rot you find randomly scattered across the world, they are NOT ennemies but friendly NPCs that give you stuff if you talk to them. I learned that the hard way.
Furnace golem is actually super easy on foot. The stomps are easy to jump over on foot. The only attack that's hard to get away from quickly enough is the high vertical explosion, but that's actually easily blockable with a shield. I'd honestly say it's easier on foot, and flame protect me makes his damage a joke. Probably more fun with Torrent, but not easier.
Furnace golem is super easy on foot. Just jump over his one-legged fire attacks into a jump attack on his other leg. When he jumps in the air just run away and get back between his legs! His grab is deadly but you can avoid it by staying below and slightly behind him.
3:47 my only complaint so far is it really feels like you need a topographic map to see what level your on. Something like being able to darken anything but a range of Y coordinates.
100+ hours into my first playthrough, and while I can't access the DLC yet (still ain't beaten Mohg), I just gotta say thank you, Dom, for all you do for the ER community!! Your videos have truly helped me master the game and feel good about moving on from an area since I know I have fully completed it. Keep up the good work dude!!
Watching this video as I continue to build my fresh Guts Greatsword build (currently level 85) for a fresh start heading into the DLC. Gonna horde all the silver & gold foul feets, ghost glovewarts, rune arcs, and just stack up everything in my inventory. Gonna take things slow and steady to get the most out of the DLC rather than those who seem to be rushing in and wanting to tank. It still might be a week before I get to Shadow, but I feel the payoff will be worth it rather than just going in with build from a year or two years ago. Even playing the base game from scratch (no NG+) working towards what I know is going to be intense has completely changed the way I play it, and it feels fresh again.
Dom your channel is one of the best and easiest guides for finding stuff. I’ve watched every single video and it’s made the game much more manageable. So happy to hear you’re getting so many views! You are my motivation to play the game tbh AND you have the nicest voice. You’re a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for all you do!! Happy DLC day from Chicago in the US.
I wouldn’t recommend using rune arcs just whenever since you will get murdered fairly easy going anywhere. Instead use the towards the end once you got some gear and upgraded the tree fragments
On replenishing flasks: i find popping a warming stone and slapping on Blessed Dew talisman after a fight, and my health regens super quick. I went through nearly my whole base game playthrough without knowing that Warming Stones can heal me. Fun fact: if you have Warming Stones ready to use in your consumables tab, your mimic will use them as well, giving your mimic summon a light healing ability. Hope that helps!
I’m sure you noticed now but I did too but I went threw them so fast it was scary so make sure u picked up all the bell bearings in main game I’m really glad I did

Torrent for furnace golems? I was surprised at how small the hitbox for their flame stomps is. You can easily get the hang of jumping on foot for them, meanwhile each jump you do a jumping attack on a leg. It takes more times thab regular golems but eventually you break their stance fully and can get a critical for massive damage just like regular golems. The only thing to really watch out for is getting picked up... I imagine that's easier to dodge with torrent.
New feature; "Mark New Items " = Yes, "Show Recent Items Tab"= No. Panic Inventory check for a much needed item only to be momentarily confused by a new and strange screen rather than the standard Inventory Tab is unnecessary death. The mark is enough, don't need the tab.
Another free tip/hack that goes for healing : leaving messages in early areas , right after fights etc - it is a LOT of ppl still starting and currently playing so the amount of times it’s saved me compared to base game over the last couple months is ridiculous. Literally was sitting and reading something the other day and had about 6-7 messages get praised to the point it made me just go back to playing just in case it would stop soon lol
For the new gold and silver ram horn consumables, they do not work in tandem with fowl feet, however they do stack with the scarab talismans. I found (at least for the gold) that the ram horns actually provide more % increase than the fowl feet.
The easy way to take out the Furnace Golems (at least the six of them that forgot to wear shin pads) is our old friend Raptor of the Mists! Stick that on a weapon with good poise damage-I used the Star Fist-and go to town. Make sure to stand behind to avoid getting grabbed. I just spent 20 minutes going through my inventory looking for what I was sure was a talisman that i picked up at a gravesite after the ymir quest and it turned out to be some weird finger spell. Your first tip is my favorite thing because i was literally screaming why wouldn't they mark my new items!?!😅
Please give step by step instructions how to avoid missing quests entirely. Example: go here, talk to ... then complete until X, then go to Y... and so on. Most give steps on how to complete a given quest, but doing so may put you too far in advance of something else, and you end up missing a different one. I find Elden Ring penalizes a player for simply exploring. They quickly get locked out of quests, missing the goodies that go along with completing them.
I absolutely love this dlc. Watched a walkthrough from a different channel, saw a lot of hate comments but i stand firm on my stance. Main gripe i saw was in regards to the ending....but hey, i have the dlc and since I'm at lv40, I'll be hopping in roughly 6 months from now since im an abysmal player atm...(Started playing VERY recently)😅
Lmao why are you guys so bad? Im only level 200, and after simply learning the game again, its SOOO easy. You really have to make it hard to have a hard time. I mean, the boss design is atrocious. And if you want to do purely melee with no real ranged weapon or spell or art of war, youre going to have a rough time. Because theres no freaking windows to attack. Weapons might as well not even have combo chains cause you can never use a full one before a boss just spazzes out. So unless you want to hit it like once, maybe twice and then roll for minutes at a time, a ranged option is a must. And at that point, youre more so avoiding boss mechanics than you are learning or interacting with them.
What are the details of using a group password? If I do that, will I start getting invaded? I really hate PvP cause I suck at it, lol! But I occasionally like to summon coop for fighting bosses I am struggling with. This DLC is crazy difficult! Some of the bosses more so than others… I’ve made it more than halfway through the dlc, and I still haven’t beaten Rellana 😂
I didn't understand the scadutree fragments and thought they were like rune arcs. I played the entire DLC without using them until I got to the point where I couldn't beat two of the bosses (Bayle and Messmer). I looked online for tips and learned that you're supposed to spend your scadutree fragments as soon as you get them. I used all of my scadutree fragments and it ranked me up to scadutree tree blessing 14. I immediately went back and took down the two bosses with just my spirit summons and I.
Thank you for keeping it spoiler free! I'm always scared that I'm missing important stuff (like the moonlight thing) but I really don't want to search anything related to the DLC cause I'm so scared of spoilers 😂
I’m assuming the difficulty spike comes after the first area. I been so busy exploring I haven’t been made it to a boss yet. But the basic enemies haven’t been too tough. They definitely hit HARD but if you’re patient it pays off.
Question from someone who hasn't played the DLC yet: Are we sure that Scadutree is not pronounced "Shadow Tree"? Is the SC pronounced the way it is in words like conscience? Does anyone have a definitive answer on this?
So i used the new item discovery item (silver horn)? Or whatever its called. And i tried to stack it with the silver fowl foot and it actually lowered my discovery by 10. Therefore im assuming one will override the other unfortunately
This is the first time I'm considering quiting any FromSoftware game cause the Scadutree Avatar is pure BS of a fight... I haven't rage quit a game in a very long time.. Even Melania didn't get me this triggered
Killed Horned Beast boss on 1st attempt with bow Update: this video told me nothing new except long advert and explained why watcher should like/sub video/channel like we are on YT 1st time ever
Okay I'm confused. Taking on furnace golems without torrent is easier than with torrent. Just hug the legs, do 4-5 jump attacks. stagger. It's much faster than with torrent in my opinion.
Healing comment, because the phantoms are all over, and are so easy to backstab, you can well use the talisman that increases AP after a crit, but also the red dagger that heals when you do a crit. I went through the castles topped up health with a pretty strong ap bonus from backstabbing the phantoms.
I took my journey 6 lvl 297 into the dlc made it to messemer brought in my lvl 140 base new game and wow the difference! Anyone struggling on your high end character try option 2
Honestly as someone who only has 90 hours on any souls game ever, and that is Elden ring, the dlc isn't rly that hard in comparison to the base game, it's just a matter of learning patterns more than the damage u receive, never plan on getting hit and the damage difference doesn't matter
Been here since “Domtastic Gaming” & im so proud of you for your growth, recognition & thankful for you dedication to us all Dom! You deserve every bit of success coming your way brother!🫶🏾🤘🏾🔥 Thank you for everything & thank you for a seat at The Round Table 🙏🏾
Am I the only one who doesn't like the change in Mesmers delivery, at least in terms of what we heard in the trailers. He was soft spoken but menacing. Now it sounds like he's trying to be menacing.
Can you make a video that’s a checklist of what to ensure you do before starting a ng+? Finished everything I could find and wondering what I may have missed.
I was today years old when I learned the fragments were not one time use consumables. I was hoarding them in case I got stuck on bosses. Needless to say my damage has significantly increased 🙄🤭
Spirit summons don't get used because they start costing a ton of fp when lvl'd up, i lvld a bunch of mine up and i can't even use them now, bac kto mimic tear.
You don't need to rest to respawn the glittering pot carriers, you can quit out and reload, they will spawn back in their spot and regular enemies will still be dead.
It took me 2 days and a stat reroll on the fight with the knight with the crossbow in the very first area. Idk how tf I even beat Elden Ring at all. 😭😂
I wish I knew they lied when ps said the deluxe edition had the dlc included for when it comes out and then over a year later then charging more then helldivers 2 did for a whole game just for dlc
Definitely think the best way to play a video game is to figure most out yourself unless you get hard stuck because it would be pointless making all your decisions because you followed a youtuber
100% I totally agree! I want people to play the game and find all these things for themselves! My videos are just to give them the extra help they need when they get stuck 😊

This is exactly the video I needed. Thank you so very much!
Killed Horned Beast boss on 1st attempt with bow
Update: this video told me nothing new except long advert and explained why watcher should like/sub video/channel like we are on YT 1st time ever
(I do not mean this as a negative) Hearing just his voice you wouldn't think he'd have such a good giggle. It's highly infectious
Glad to see ur channel gaining popularity, you definitely deserve it! Cheers
You deserve every bit of success coming your way brother!🫶🏾🤘🏾🔥
Thank you for everything & thank you for a seat at The Round Table 🙏🏾
Dude you've just made my day!!! Thank you so much for the kind words and positivity 🙏 🔥
Silver Horn Tenders and Silver Pickled Fowl Foots do NOT stack. Silver Horn Tenders boost discovery more. They are a straight upgrade.
Funny got so much crap for using spirit ashes in the main game. Hearing use them just makes me chuckle. My loux doll should be fun to use.
Just exploring around the whole map and ended up fighting bayle, beat him after 1hr, and i havnt even beat any bosses yet
Playing SotE and HOLY SHIT bro, that first ring enemy was a fun surprise 😂 solid 10/10 for the DLC
The devs knew we'd be going in at high level, so they nerfed all the good stuff to ENSURE we get our buttholes stretched.
I had 328 hours into Elden Ring before the DLC dropped and I can see putting in at least 100 hours into the DLC.
I literally had to bring my vigor up to 80 + crimson 3 + morgots great rune to handle these bosses. Bosses do soo much damage
DLC tip of the day: if you see oversized golden sheep, don't just *aww it's so cute*.
They will mess you up
I am so excited and scared to come back. About to buy the dlc right now, 12:35am June 24th.
I actually found the golems easier on foot😅 with torrent I couldn't do it without messing up and getting downed
The furnace golems are probably one of the most boring and tedious thing in all of elden ring, I just ignore them.
I had to stop playing and come watch your videos cause I was just overwhelmed and a little lost. Thanks 👍
Lmao I’ve only died once yet this DLC 😂
I also havent killed anything yet…. …. 😭🤮
The horn tenders are noticeably better than fowl feet, but they are not craftable and cannot be used at the same time as the same color of fowl foot
What's the deal with groups? I know I can google it but this is more fun
OK, just played about half and hour of the DLC yesterday and I am now REALLY SCARED
I REFUSE to use the items that make the dlc easier, that is NOT the Souls way.
Happy Stalking the Shadows ALL!!!
