Our Lili is a 13 year old kitty that we adopted at 8 months old.
She is her dada and papa’s heart and soul.
She’s had some medical issues and that God we’ve been able to give her the best medical care possible.
Like you Lee, we promised her from day one, a life full of love, comfort and joy!
Our Lili is doing great and will be 13 years old in May. I pray to God to keep her with us as long as possible.
I must admit, I won’t be able to continue without her. I’ve already lost my beloved mother and father, European immigrants who valued ever life. The picture of their granddaughter Lili was buried with them for eternity ❤

Lee, you are a beautiful person. So sorry for losing your Lily. My husband passed away last week and I requested donations to the Asher house. Lee he loved to watch your videos they made him smile. He died of a seizure from brain cancer. Once again sorry for your loss, Lily was a beautiful dog.

Honestly, what’s amazing was Lily’s journey from that sick shelter dog in LA to a queen bee founder of Asher House. That journey has saved so many animals, not just through your rescue, but through the renewed life CBD has brought to so many through better health. We’ll definitely miss her commentary on your videos, but she had an awesome life because you gave so much to her. Physically, Lily may be gone, but as long as you remember her, she’ll always be with you in your heart.
Lily had a great life at the sanctuary and knew she was loved. You will always have the memories. All dogs go to heaven.

And like your Lily, I could not get on the phone to have a conversation without Lilyrose barking in the background. So very, very sorry to hear of Lily's passing. I dreaded this video too. I lost my Sampson in 2020 and the depth of the pain I felt both physically and emotionally astounded me. I was in deep grief. I'm sharing this with you so you know you are not alone in your grief and pain. I still grieve for Sampson. I always will.

I like to think that, when our furry ones pass, they watch over us. The physical and emotional toll that grief takes is high. Through losing my rabbits from the long ago past, I still grieve them. Sometimes, doing something kind in their honour can really help. Sampson left his pawprint in your heart, so he's with you always. And one day a long time from now, you'll feel his licks again 💗

Sampson got an immune mediated illness and by the time they figured that out he had gotten another illness from which he could not recover. He didn't even make it to 4 years old. I have done several things in his memory including volunteering with and donating to local and other animal rescue organizations. Thank you again Heather.
I lost my soul dog in May of 2021. I finally felt ready to rescue another dog. I got him 2 days ago. I am sitting here on my couch with him, watching this, in tears, knowing I'll have to go through the pain again. But the love.... man, the love.... Great grief is the price of great love. Tears are just love with no place to go. Sending you and all of yours love and light from Minnesota. 🧡

I have a dear friend who is losing her Companion of 11 years, Lola, a Basset Hound.
My Friends, she is distraught. Prayers for Lola.
This man carries the weight of the world inside of him. It’s hard to see how much he suffers. It’s to be expected with how much of his heart that he gives away.
We love you and the babies and I pray for healing in your home.
Love how the baby on your lap is so comfortable and feels so safe that snoring is like a Lily bark. Happy and content and their there for you Asher.

It's the hardest thing to experience. When I lost my maltipoo of 16yrs, my Gucci Baby. He was my Life! My Everything! Even now after 3 years when I see his videos I cry and cry. I had a nervous breakdown when Gucci Baby closed his eyes for the last time😭💔😭.

Don't ever forget that YOU are the heart and soul of Asher House. The losses when you have so many animals are inevitable, and always painful, but you are giving all of your critters the best possible life. It's all we can ask, that we give freely and grieve deeply. It would be cool to paint a mural on one of the buildings with images of those you have lost - a Memorial Wall. They will always be in your heart. That sweetie on your lap was reminding you that the here and now means the work goes on with Lily's blessing.

So, so sorry. It doesn't matter if you try to work up having "thick skin" or not, when you truly love your animals, you just can't prepare for the ending. I am elderly & I have lost many dogs & cats thru the years & I have gone thru many times of mourning. But I never quit rescuing animals that I could help. People would just tell me I'm asking for more heartache when they pass, but I say "look at all the happiness & love they have given me before their end would come". The most I have rescued at one time was 4 (very large) dogs & 6 cats. I don't have a big house but big enough to take care of them. You do a wonderful job & we are blessed to have you taking care of so many unfortunate animals. I wish I was able to save more animals on a scale like yours. But at least I'm helping in a small way. Love & Peace.

So sorry about Lilly's passing and the grief you are going thru. I lost my little girl to cancer in 2014 and felt my whole world was over. I would never go anywhere that I couldn't take her with me. My mom would ask me from time to time when I would start saving for Macie's college fund!!!.every shopping week she would go thru the shopping bags for her new toy because she always knew Mommy had her a new toy to play with. In fact after she crossed the Rainbow 🌈 bridge I slept with her favorite toy just so I could smell her sweetness at night and I knew although she was gone she was still with me. When I meet her at the Rainbow Bridge WE will be together for an eternity.

Beautiful comment and so true. I lost my boxer in Aug 2023. The loss has left a hole in our hearts. He was 12. I still cry. Our Bernedoodle puppy has diverted our attention. She won’t replace our boy, but she’s expanded our hearts and helped us love again. The family we create when we let an animal in is a bond so strong. The more we love, the more it hurts. We’ve all loved Lily through the screen and understand the Lily shaped hole you now have. Rest in peace, Lily. Thank you, Lee for the way you give of yourself to give these beautiful creatures a special safe and loving home.
And many Psychics have said that the love we give our animals helps them to ,,grow,, spiritually. Just like human souls, they are on a ladder of spiritual growth. So Lee, you have helped Lily up several rings of her Evolutionary Ladder, with your Love and devotion. Nothing in this Universe is ever lost. It is just Transmuted. Dear Lee, l am so very sorry about the loss of your precious Lily. We’ve have lost 5 Goldens over the years. We now have Maggie , a 10 year old Red Golden She has had a huge impact to help my husband &l grieve over the loss of our 18 yr old granddaughter in a tragic crash.

My son has lost 2 of his rescue dogs now. They were each special and loved and spent the best years of their lives with Tim. He grieved for them, I know. I miss them too. 😢I felt the same way .i was sadden with the lose of lily but the snoring lifted my spirits and I had to chuckle a bit but I do feel his pain. We are getting ready soon to say our goodbyes to our Abbey girl her hind legs are giving out and her cancer is back (untreatable this time) .She has been cancer free for 6 years 😢😢. But I too feel helpless. I'm not ready yet ❤. You are a very caring and loving man that would do anything for your babies and I respect you for being there for all of them. You brought her from a life of misery sleeping in puddles by a dumpster to a life filled with adventure, other dogs, love, and safety for the rest of the life she had. What dog could ask for more. I loved how as you were telling her story, there was another dog snoring on your lap, that even in the midst of your pain you were able to provide love, comfort, and safety to another rescued dog. Bless you for all you do. As a fellow rescuer that pain of losing a fur daughter that had such a tight bond with you is so hard. Lily was the best biggest pretty girl ever! I lost my fur daughter last year. It is extremely hard as we lost another rescue we had early last year to a brain tumor. To end our year losing our fur daughter was the pits. But, in true form I whispered in her ear before she took her last breath, I’d rescue another in her name. I did just that. My newest rescue needed love, trust and comfort and we had it to give. It helps heal the broken heart. We continue on rescuing shelter dogs here too. So many out there need furever loving homes! Bless you for all you do! You are in my heart, thoughts and prayers. 🐾💓

Lily was the name of my first dog. She passed over 30 years ago and she will never be forgotten. She put us on the path to rescue dogs instead of going to breeders. Sad news today for sure but she lived a great life with you. She was loved beyond measure. ❤

This simple sentence has become the foundation of my strength through loss. Your Lily has blessed your life by being the strength your beautiful journey needed. God blesses us in such small, but HUGE ways.
Susan, thank you about reminder of Dr Seuss sentence… that touched me as a healing hug. I had to say “see you later, meet me at the bridge” to my Maine Coon Bella. In Nov. We had our best life possible for 12 of her 13 yrs. Thank you!!!

A few days before Christmas, I had to say algoodbye to Keno - last in my pack of 7 - after almost 15 years.
And all of these beautiful moments of the JOY and kindness he brought to me and the other animals are rising up as I read these words.
After over 30 dogs, cats, birds and horses... 🌈 Bridge is a pretty busy place we will all see one day.

I own a male saint Bernard, he was unwanted by his previous owners, they drew all over him the day I picked him up.
I have no children, I always had dogs my whole life and nothing has touched me the way he has.
The giant breeds are children in our eyes, the very presence, the drool, the hair its part of the package.
I dread the day he's no longer here, my world will feel alot darker.

I’ve nursed my senior dog for the last four years of her life. Then, I had Lap of Love come to our home where they helped her pass away in my arms. She was a German Shepherd, age 12, and her last years were hard. We didn’t go on trips, or leave her unattended. Finally her time came, and we made the best decision for her. Our other shepherd was not the alpha female. Now she receives all the attention and special treatment easily. No need to tussle for it. The cycle of life is necessary, yet always difficult. Dogs understand this much better than humans do.
These are words I need repeated in my mind for situations and moments such as this. Thank you.

One of our rescues was a giant Newfoundlander. At 18 month and 160lbs. He had been adopted and returned 3 times, and the last return to the shelter was 9 months earlier.
He lived to be 14yrs old. And we lost him on a warm sunny day laying in his fav. Spot in the yard. Last year. The whole family came to say goodbye. And even her vet he had his whole life. Wept as he drew his last breath with us. He had epilepsy and. No one wanted him. Everyone missed out on a pretty special big boy.
He took our heart ❤and tears 😢with him.
Sorry, you're wrong about that, 'Nobody wanted him'? No, the people that returned him NEVER deserved him in the first place....You obviously DID deserve each other ❤
Plus he took your hearts because he'd already stole them while he was with you! He left your tears as a reminder of him (sad & happy) until it's time to hug him once again....❤

I haven't seen Lee look so devastated by a dog's death since way back when Stella died. I'd only been watching him for a short time & when I saw his reaction, I knew he was a kindred spirit. I've only just lost my Boz & my home has never been so desolate & unbearably quiet.
Love & light to all at the Asher House, however many legs you have, especially, of course, Lee. I must just put in a special mention for the sweetly snoring pup on Lee's lap, it somehow seemed fitting to have a canine soundtrack in the background.
