Thank you for your wonderful demonstration. It was very calming to watch and as a beginner I have learned a lot from you. I have my pottery class tomorrow and will be playing you back in my mind and try and be calm! I also love how clean you manage to keep your work and working area by using the slip instead of lots of water everywhere. I am 65 and a late starter in this skill but I am loving it!
Great! Welcome to this pottery world.
I have been trying to do thin necks without much success.
Your comment about leaving more clay at the top to collar in may be the clue I needed.
Off to try again. Thanks.
Very detailed as always. I love the teardrop shape.
Good teacher,thank you
Perfection.
Thankyou
Love your work always curious as to how tall they are (using the 3.5 pounds)? Helps to make sure (it I throw the clay efficiency.
Muy bella
Why do you collar instead of pulling all the way up when you're pulling your cylinder? Thank you for your detailed instruction!
I like to leave the rim a bit thicker so that I have more clay to close the mouth.
Do you pull the cylinder of completely even thickness, or do you leave more clay at the top to pull the neck? I tried pulling a similar shape and when I cut it in half, I found that the walls continuously tapered from the base to the top in thickness. Thank you for the great video!
The thickness is even and also perfected after trimming.
It's good until there's no explanation about shaping and finishing the top part
And how tall when finished
Beautiful! How many pounds of clay did you use?
How tall is it before shaping. Thanks
Same question. Thanks.
