The car tested was the Executive edition with Lexus Hybrid Drive. Full hybrid technology on the IS range for the first time, the new IS 300h delivers 223 DIN hp yet with CO2 emissions from just 99g/km and up to 65.7mpg.
This is not to be confused with the Lexus IS 300h F Sport which has some very significant differences, namely the way it looks, drives and the dials. See www.lexus.co.uk

I've chosen IS300h even if I could get BMW, Merc or Audi cheaper as I'm working in Germany now. IS is just more refined, quieter, and more reliable.
And lower maintenance costs, Toyota hybrids don't have: a starter motor, alternator, clutch plates, timing belt. The brakediscs/pads last a very long time too.
Good choice , I've owned 2 bmws , moving to lexus now, more reliable, they look better , and better quality
I have a 3 serie f30 330i and with the gas prices going up i cant be spending this much on gas definitely going to get me an is300h
Just bought it. It's a great car. Beautiful, comfortable and actually quite fun to drive as well. Would not trade it for the Germans ever.

@@MoAli6 Its great, only problem is the winter snowy weather (which we have a lot here!), it gets stuck easy and its stance is too low. Other than that, I really like it.
I last weekend i was in rx450h 2016 and that was mind blowing, i might save money for lexus instead keep buying cheap old cars every 2 years, quality is top notch for money. How is your experience now Andy after a year with lexus?

Love the seats and steering.
Love the chassis and suspension
Even love the gearbox now, such an intelligent solution and super smooth.
Comfortable, refined and relaxing and at the same time engaging and precise, very controllable and eager to just fly on twisty bumpy roads. I guess the bonded chassis makes a difference towards the competition is this regard.
A dream on motorways, so silent when cruising.
Spacious both cabin and boot, not bad at all.
What sort of MPG are you getting?
That was brilliant review, bit short but great, i fell in love with lexus after ride with me mate in his rx 66 plate, i know its bit different to this one but you are right- futuristic car with great look and handling😁

@@MoAli6 Haha! I no longer have the IS300h. It is so under rated, i enjoyed the IS alot, reliability was my main concern - No major problems, engine is solid, only need a new battery nothing else. I Drive another Lexus, RC300h F-Sport in blue with red leathers, great car, look good, drives ok. Again it will be reliable compared to the rest of the german cars.

@@erickeane471 no issues at all. Just passed the yearly inspection (swedish traffic/security regulation) last week. Very happy with it. Of course it's not a GS-luxury feeling, but the IS great value for money & it gives that lovely Lexus feeling anyway :)

Gajd21 good luck, i bought it and now regretting it, who entertainment system is gone and lexus playing snobs means no one can fix it apart from lexus and cost 1700 and best part they dont even tell you what is which part is gone as it combination of four different parts , good luck for ppl who sitting on back seat to low pillars to hit head in every entrance i hope u have better experience

I'm due to change my company car and I was very close to placing an order (Starts with F and ends in ord Mondeo) but after reading some of the reviews and especially watching your review it's thrown a massive spanner in the works............Just because you drive a company car it doesn't mean you have to follow the crowd and opt for the usual suspects.I'm off t my local Lexus garage.Great review, great hat and fingers crossed it'll be a great car.

how about comfortability of the seat? Is this car good enough for long distance travel? compared to A6 or E class.

A bit late to this but thanks fella, searching for a replacement for my much loved 528i (E39) and this just might be it. Not a fan of modern BMs, Audis are just posh Skodas and Jags will be in the garage all the time. Only leaves this. My old Audi A4 used to have a CVT (pre-DSG years) - proper steel belt CVT not an e-CVT like here and reviews never mentioned it as weird at all. Loved the smoothness of it.
Formula 1 cars are hybrids nowadays and everyone keeps on watching Formula 1.
Have you ever driven the CT200? How would you compare the drive on that as compared to the IS300h

Drives nice mate, very nice, its not about power, its a cruiser and a potterer, 0-60 would mean listening to the CVT gearbox and engine note, you don't want to do that, its about 8 or 9 probably
That could take a while, it would need quite a lot of very gentle driving to get 60mpg. It's not a Prius remember!

I'd want an IS300h IF:1. They sold it in the US.2. They improved the acceleration - 0-60MPH3. I'd prefer front wheel drive for winter driving.

Yes just how I felt after weekend test drive,then I thought get another golf tdi,number 7,it's the facelift,must be even better than MK 7,I saved six grand ,well ,what a muppet,dohh ext,facelift much more road noise,and noise,harder ride,door ratels,vibration through floor,no glove box lock
No draw under seat,pump noises from under rear seats and bonnet,when car stops,what have I done,YOUR PAYING FOR VW US EMISSIONS FINE
Is there more road noise, well that is very interesting. I wonder if this is a case of "make it cheaper / charge the same" - thanks for sharing mate. I was curious to note what the new Golf is like. Sorry that this is the case. I am sure there are ways to get out of it if you are not satisfied.

Nice video and awesome car, it's just a luxury Prius at the end but this is all good, hybrids are great to drive, much better than diesel equivalent.

50 mpg is easily doable. Even 55-60 with gentle throttle, good road knowledge and most important you gotta learn how to drive a hybrid.

A3 Sportback Sport 1.6tdi manual, an excellent car, long term average 57mpg. BIK is the reason I looked elsewhere and the Lexus whilst more expensive will save me income tax and provide a better ride. Plus I wanted a change of scenery. Im hoping to achieve 50mpg in the lexus IS300H Advance!
Um... you won't.... should I be talking BIK in reviews? whats the easy way for me to understand it as a self employed person? How relevant is it to buyers... well clearly a lot
Well I'll take that as a challenge then. If your reviewing fleet types then yes BIK information, also some company car drivers have fuel tax to pay which incurs a 3% levy for diesel at the moment. I found nextgeencar to be very helpful to narrow down potential cars. I learned how the Jag xe and A4 manage to get low BIK for such a large 2.0 car, they need to use AdBlue an exhaust additive which the driver needs to refill in time. AdBlue is something the car salespersons completely neglected to tell me about. Emjoyed the review BTW, you have an entertaining and informative style.
