    Just had the 60,000 mile service with Lexus main dealer and there was nothing to do on it except usual oil and filter changes. So far reliability has been top notch.

    Bought one of these rather than the boring looking Toyota auris estate ( wanted a hybrid rather than unreliable diesel) it was bought as my new taxi, done 10,000 so far and it’s been perfect, real head turner, excellent mpg and the comfiest seats I’ve ever sat in, customers love it too, only negative for taxi use is the boot isn’t the biggest and although I don’t do airport runs anymore you’d struggle to get 4 big cases in,

      Totally agree, I still get comments like "nice car mate" or "I didn't want to park too close to your, car as it looks expensive". Even after 10 years last service needed nothing doing to it. These must be the most boring cars to service as nothing goes wrong with them.

    Cheers for the in depth review...this will be my next car. Currently have a 320d E90 and was planning to upgrade to the F30 but much prefer the styling and interior gadgets on the Lexus. I had a Toyota Altezza before and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned so hoping this Lexus will be similar. I do like BMW but I think this is the best looking mid sized saloon on the road today! Thanks again!

    Thanks for the excellent review. I could feel a daily drive in the city. I also drive a Lexus hybrid for five years. Mine is premium gasoline and six cylinders. So, mine is powerful but not as economical as IS300h 4 cylinder x drive. So, I'm interested in IS300h x-drive right now. I want to have enough power and good gas emission. When you push the acceleration, do you feel any time-lag? Do you feel it has enough power when you in a harry? Once you drive a Toyota hybrid car, you can't go back to a regular gasoline car anymore. It's so smooth and comfortable. Environment-friendly too.

    I’m seriously considering getting one of these motors, currently I’ve got a Ford Focus 1.6 tdci & it basically just breaks & falls to pieces constantly (never get one, very terrible cars) ...so after of years of contemplating between this & the is220d I’m looking at this car as more of a better option what with the 220d becoming an aging motor

    What do you think of the f sport model

    • @guy3555
      @guy3555  5 років тому

      I have driven the exec and f sport variants of the 300h the exec model is set up for comfort whilst the f sport is more firmer to drive. I also think the engine has been tuned slightly different. The electric motor seems to deliver a more instant response from standing start.

  • @franklyfarmtours
    @franklyfarmtours 5 років тому

    Great car. Love mine. I get around 45 to 50mpg in mixed driving. It feels like Exec saloons used to before the fashion for so called sportiness took hold. Do you sometimes get a slight jolt when the engine comes in?

    Does this one have the Mark Levinson sound system or the Dolby?

    • @guy3555
      @guy3555  Рік тому +1

      This has the Dolby system, it is perfectly adequate in my opinion. There is a bass woofer behind the rear passenger seats under the rear parcel shelf. It always sounds bassy. To be honest I've not heard the Mark Levinson system so I can't really compare. I have an Alpine system in our other car, the Lexus Dolby system sounds much crisper than the Alpine.

    What's your mpg been in city driving, looking to buy one

    • @guy3555
      @guy3555  5 років тому +3

      Hi, the average I am getting is between 50 to 55 mpg for city driving, that is real world driving with stop start traffic. My previous Lexus CT200h which had a smaller engine did 55 to 60mpg. Considering the IS300h is a heavier car there wasn’t a huge difference. My other car is an efficient modern diesel and I definitely fill up less in the IS for the same miles and type of driving I do.

    Only the F Sport trim looks nice on IS range, all the other trims are plain & boring looking. Also not a fan of the infotainment, it’s too fiddly I prefer the old touchscreen on the previous generation.
