I have watched this man ever since I can remember. He always looked like a very sweet kind person like he couldn't be mean if he tried. Seriously talented dancer as a former tippy tapper myself I can tell you what he was doing on here wasn't easy. Rest in peace sweet soul.
And to think it all started because he watched a kids talent show dance group at his school when he was 12. He was so interested in tap, he immediately started lessons and won a competition 3 years later.
I’m memorized! 🙇🏿♀️ Good Lord this man had talent. Been Watching Mama’s family since I was 6 (almost daily these days). I had no idea he passed until this year. Ive never been emotionally invested in celebs, but it really broke my heart. You can’t find entertainers with talent like this these days. RIP Ken/Vint. You will forever be missed 🥺
I just saw the same Burnett skit and he blew me away senidng me searching to learn about him as his dancing especially was stunning! Never knew about him and loved this clip! Kinda sad that he came along after the Astaire era was over as he is such a jewel!
Oh my gosh! I had no idea this man was so diverse and such a great dancer! He was amazing and so unassuming. His boyish charm had me fooled. I was too young to realize how much he'd done before his acting career.
Ken, who was featured in the Billy Barnes Revues in the 1960s was multi-talented and a truly nice guy. He was born in the wrong decade--he would have been a big movie star in musicals!
Besides being a wonderful comedic actor, he was a supremely talented dancer. I remember seeing him once on some NBC variety show--it might have been the Bell Telephone Hour; can't remember--where he whirled across the stage leaping airborne from, I think, chair to chair singing "I Found a Million-Dollar Baby in a Five-and-Ten-Cent Store." I have been looking for that on UA-cam for many years to no avail. Such a likable and multitalented performer. May he rest in peace.
I'm watching the episode of Mama's Family where Vint does his Fred Astaire bit and decided to come look for old footage of him doin his thing.......he was DOPE!!!!
Love ken berry since I was a kid. It's just a pleasure to watch him dance. I first saw him on the Andy Grffith Show and Mayberry RFD. I still remember the Kinney Shoes commercials. I saw the Cat From Outer Space in the theater when I was 13. Most of the people I grew up watching are gone. In spite of everything that's happened throughout history, the world is a much darker place now.
This was Corporal Ken Berry "a young man who will be going places" performing at an army talent show. I didn't know he could dance until I saw him on a 1970s Kinney Shoe TV commercial.
I remember first time watching him on F Troop when I was a kid, I don't remember him much until he was on Mama's Family, but I wonder if he was on the Carol Burnett show, she has so many talented people on her show. He sure was an awesome tap dancer and performer, I think he's in his late 80s now
Thank goodness Carol Burnett's show was around at the time. Perhaps the last of the great comedy variety shows with music. Ken was frequently brought in when a song and dance man was needed. He wouldn't have been able to show off his multiple talents if he wasn't such a regular guest on Carol's show. RIP Ken Berry.
He also did Mayberry RFD where he was the lead, the follow-up show to Andy Griffith's show and he was on Carol Burnett show I think 19 times where he performed his tap dancing many of those times.
When I was a little boy in the 70's, my family and I went to Kings Island (Amusement Park in Cincinnati, Ohio). I wanted to ride "The Beast" but unfortunately my Mom and Dad was too frightened to ride it and I needed to be accompanied by an adult. The man in line behind us saw the disappointment on my face and said he'd ride with me. I was very young but I still remember that he was wearing a Hawaiian style shirt with white pants and shoes. Around his neck hung a 35mm camera with a telephoto lens. The stranger must have seen my white knuckles and asked if I was scared? I said it was my first time. He told me he had been on this several times that day and it was a piece of cake. As we neared the top of the first hill, I looked over at him and told him I should have went to the bathroom before I left. He laughed. The rest of the conversation was a bit blurry but somewhere in there he shouted to me that the scary part was over. I thanked him for riding with me and he went on his way. My mother came up to me afterwards and asked me if I knew who that was? I said that I thought I recognized him, but didn't know from where. She leaned down to me and said, "That was Ken Berry!".
I don't think this can be from the 1950's, F Troop started in 1965 and surely his hat (at least) is a reference to that? Anyway, a charming and skilled performance.
probably the most underrated performer EVER
He's one of my favorite tap dancers - he's so light on his feet - like he's flying.
So much talent and charm.Rest in peace Ken Berry and thanks.
Geeeeez Lou-Eeeese. Incredible. Thx for all the years of entertainment, Ken. And may all the God's bless you, wherever you are. Xoxx

That last part blew my mind! And everything with such grace! ❤️
And to think it all started because he watched a kids talent show dance group at his school when he was 12. He was so interested in tap, he immediately started lessons and won a competition 3 years later.
I knew Ken Berry was talented but this was anazing!! R.I.P. Ken Berry
never knew he could dance yet I knew he acted. Well done! RIP
I've been obsessed with Mama's Family since I was 2, so sad to see Kenny go.

Mesmerized?
Amazing. And under rated. Wow.
Thank you so much, Ken Berry, for sharing your graciousness and fine talent with us. Rest in Peace, sir.
Rip Ken! Really talented guy you will be missed!!!
Wow what a true talent!!! And he was such a charter, a real actor! And a comedian too! RIP. We love you Ken Berry aka uncle Vint!
ruby Love yes, he was a great uncle vent to us all, and the best husband to Naomi!
Mr Berry was an icon of tap. It’s sad he wasn’t showcased more. I’m miffed. Bravo, kudos and thank you Mr B
Wow...never realized how good of a dancer he was...saw a Carol Burnett show tonight w/ him dancing! Wow it was great!
I just saw the same Burnett skit and he blew me away senidng me searching to learn about him as his dancing especially was stunning! Never knew about him and loved this clip! Kinda sad that he came along after the Astaire era was over as he is such a jewel!

True. That’s as good as anything Donald O’Connor and Gene Kelly did in Singin’ in the Rain.
The most phenomenal tap dancing and even dancing in general I have ever seen in my life! God bless you Ken Berry! 🕺🏽

Will be missed Captain Parmenter...you were such a part of my childhood!!!!Rip
Previously I've only known Ken Berry as an actor... this is the first time I seen him as a dancer. He can definitely hoof it.
He didn’t even break a sweat! I had to stop and catch my breath just to finish watching!
Had to watch this again. RIP Mr. Berry
So great to see this clip of him. So talented! TFS
They should have made this a flashback on Mama's family.
I never knew Ken Berry could tap dance! Always associated him with hayseed situation comedies when I was a girl. Fantastic!!!
Unsung, underused, and under-appreciated.
Just fantastic! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I always knew he must be a terrific dancer because of the brilliant prat falls he used to do on his hit TV show, F Troop.
I knew of Ken Berry for sure didn't know he could dance like this
A talented man. Rest In Peace.
Oh my God he is so Gooooood....

Watching him on Mama's Family and felt like watching his old dance videos. :) He's amazing!!
R.I.P. Ken Berry...
I'm embarrassed to say this but I only knew about Ken Berry through Mama's Family... never knew he was a tap dancer!! So cool!!
He also did F-Troop, Mayberry RFD and a regular guest on Carol Burnett show where he did a lot of his dancing on there.
Damn that KenBerry from the TV show F Troop fame. Never knew he could Tap Dance and a song and dance man. Amazing.
He used to be on the Carol Burnett show, Funniest show I've ever seen.
Wow, can he tap dance.......he's great!
What a talent- RIP
Thank you for this!! He was a very talented man. Too bad tap rather went by the boards.
This is beyond brilliant.
Adorable and so very talented!
Sensational!
He was better than good .
He is fantastic...❤️

He was on Carol's show a record 19 times I think and he did his tap dancing many times. Really enjoyed watching him on there.

Don't forget Mayberry RFD
Wow....he was a wonderful dancer....
Fantastic tap work there. Never heard of him and I was studying tap in a major New York dance school at the time.
he was on the sitcom Mama's Family
He also did Mayberry RFD where he was the lead, the follow-up show to Andy Griffith's show and he was on Carol Burnett show I think 19 times where he performed his tap dancing many of those times.

His commanding officer in the army, leonard nimoy encouraged him to get into show business
Nimoy was his sergeant during Ken's last year in the Army.
Geeeeez!!!! 😮
So ashamed I'd never heard of this guy. Tap dance heaven on legs!
I think in another era, Ken would have been a much bigger star. Unfortunately the movie musical was dead by the time he reached his prime.
F Troop FTW cheers ;)
WOW!!!!!!!!
Rest in peace Ken Berry 🙏
He got game
RIP
❤
Perfect for F Troop!
holy moly he was good..whoda thunk it!
He was just like Buddy Ebsen
RIP Captain Parmenter
Early break dancing!
Fred couldn't touch this guy!
Fred had much better rhythm! Ken loses the beat here and there.
I don't think this can be from the 1950's, F Troop started in 1965 and surely his hat (at least) is a reference to that? Anyway, a charming and skilled performance.
Hi
RIP Mr. Berry. You sent a lot of kids like me to tap dancing school. I don’t want you to be remembered for Mama’s Family. Stupid show.
Minda Kahn I thought Mama's family was a bit corny, but it made me laugh. There is nothing but trash on tv nowadays.
