Nice review Dan. Lester looked a bit bored the whole way through this little challenge. Ha ha.

Totally agreed. Started golf about a year ago, changed to a CBX2 (50) and CBX (56, full-face) from first purchase 2nd hand bladed wedges, helped my game a lot.

A much better review format than other channels... With some "normal" golfer input (yes, I class Lee as normal).
I seem to remember a rather handsome fan of the channel making this format suggestion 😉

I’ve never had so much spin. I used the 58 from 80 yards and it spins back 10 feet every time. Ridiculously good.

You said it Dan... check off all the performance boxes and don’t get hung up on brand. I’ve used primarily Vokey, Callaway and Cleveland over the years. Currently gaming Vokey 50* & 54* and a Callaway PM 58*.

I totally get what you mean, Dan, when you say very Clevelandy. They do have a certain look. Really clever of them to put together a demo fitting pack. Mean Dan wouldn't let Lee's lob shot take the nearest the pin honours. Great review vid again fellas 👌

Great review again guys. I'm still playing rtx3, looking at changing to be wedges soon though!
I would love to see a video with a more in depth look at how bounce changes the way a wedge performes from bunkers, heavy rough, tight lies, etc. I think the 3 of you with different abilities and preferences would help shed some light on the subject - just an idea. Cheers again lads

I agree with what lee said if it wasn’t for data most of us wouldn’t know any better I also agree with dan like a lot of things in golf it comes down to personal preference cos everybody is different in the way they play and their choices great review again from the 3 of you

I tried the Zipcore wedges on a recent Cleveland fitting day and found them to be high performing, quality offerings -pretty much what you would expect from a manufacturer known specifically for these clubs. TBH I didn't notice a whole lot of difference from the RTX4s I already own, but if I was in the market I would definitely be thinking about them. On the day the wedges that surprised me most were the CBX2 line. Not the best looking clubs ever but really easy to play and with grin-inducing amounts of spin. I joked to the fitter that they could put golf ranges out of business if the back spin was any greater.

One of the main reasons I bought these wedges, was because of the straight leading edge. I love that.
Also, their bounce and grind options are excellent. Very simple yet very functional if you choose wisely. You don’t necessarily need all 4 million of vokeys options....
I never had Cleveland wedges before, but very impressed with these.
Great feel and response. I have zero complaints thus far after a few months of use.

Entertaining format but would be more interesting to explore exactly how much mid-handicappers are helped or hindered by having so many wedges to pick from.
The OEM have had a good chuckle reducing iron sets to 5/6 iron to pitching wedge which with current strong lofts is the equivalent of old school 4/5 iron to 9-iron thereby creating massive gaps at top and bottom of the bag in order to sell more wedges and hybrids, realistically I don't see many club golfers improve by carrying three wedges.
Seve and Faldo only carried a sand wedge in addition to a set wedge, they were not bad were they?
The only way most golfers today will ever acquire 'soft Spanish hands' is by eating hot paella with their fingers .....

I play a West Cornwall GC a links course with some deep pot bunkers, i ground my 60 deg 588 RTX Cleveland wedge to negative bounce and its an absolute wand in bunkers now, I also have the 56 and 52 in the same 588 the 56has been bent to 55deg and the 52 to 50deg for gapping in my set up, the 50deg has also been ground to low bounce not as low as the 60 though. The low bounce helps on our tight fairways.

I play with my old Cleveland 588 and 900.
    The first one☝️ and i ❤ these.
    3 different color
    51/7 588 raw
    56/14 900 bronze
    60/3 588 gun metal
    For me, the best Wedges.
No found any one, with the same look(size).
The grooves over the years 🙈
Specialy on the 900...very Soft metal.
    Flop-shot with the 60/3...😁👍
and i play mostly with this in the bunker☝️

Interesting review. I much prefer wedges that look square to the ground. I've always been a Cleveland wedge player, had a fitting in the season and hated the rtx 4. Ping came out on top but then heard about zipcore definitely something i need to try. No idea what bounce i need though

danny! hit that 50 with a full swing. i picked up a zipcore because an old cleveland 56 is my miracle club so i thought id try it out... did not buy it for any other reason. when i hit full shots with it, i noticed a great feel which i guess is the zipcore. give the 50 a full shot, i think youll feel that zip core then.

Had vokeys, looked good but found them heavish and didn't gel with them! Move to older clevelands, looked good, liked them better. Tried rotex versions now have 46 and 50 in Rotex 3. Find them incredibly stable for long shots and half shots. But have an older Rotex 54 which FEELS so much better swingweight for finesse shots. And Lastly a 58 Callaway Mac Daddy which feels so good and like a surgeons scalpel. Feel is more important to me than spin stats.

Over the years I have had cleveland and pings but in the last three years after a fitting I changed to the vokeys which I far preferred to the previous ones though my game has improved considerably since. In the 58 for example the 58 with a 04 bounce has worked best and is my all round wedge- sand, lobs, 80 yard full shots rough etc. (with a graphite shaft to match my irons) wearing down now so am looking around for a potential replacement and as a leftie - my shortlist is the Ben hogan equalizer 2, sm8 and possibly the pxg forged as my irons now are the pxg gen 3 - latter advantage is also the shaft can be the same. As my gap wedge is a 50 don’t find I need more than the 58 or possibly switch to a 56. One thing I recommend is that it is actually quite useful for reasons of course conditions to look at the same wedge with different bounce so maybe the sm8/12; Ben hogan is an 8; the pxg is a 10.

Now that’s a proper review different shots different distances no real need for data because let’s be fair most of the top wedges Vokey, Callaway, Taylormade, etc will produce similar spin rates so it comes down to personal preference, I’ve had many wedges in my time but Vokey is the one for me especially Current models which look great and feel great much better then the 7 which I just didn’t like the look of so I didn’t change until the latest model came out.
Hang on Lester you’ve never tried a Cleveland 🤔 have you not tried the 48degree wedge I sent you? I know the glove I sent is probably a bit big for you but I would of thought you would have tried the wedge out as you were missing your 48 degree wedge in a previous video.
Anyway never mind good video lads I like the way you review clubs and it’s not all data it’s actually better when you can test outside. 👍👍

I’ve been playing a pm grind wedge for a couple years and got a Cleveland cbx full face. My pm grind is getting worn down and doesn’t check much anymore but is extremely playable from almost any lie. The cbx has way more effective bounce and the hard packed sand makes it almost impossible to lay the face open and still get underneath the ball unless you strike it perfect. I don’t. The Cleveland wedge does have more noticeable spin, my shots don’t run out nearly as much. I also struggle to feel the strike and get feedback from the Cleveland, almost every shot feels the same. I’m still trying the Cleveland but have kept the pm grind in the bag so far. Just wish the full face had less bounce really.

I am thinking that maybe a straighter bottom line would be beneficial for the handicap golfer. If the ball is struck nearer the toe then surely if the toe was more rounded the impact point would be on the bottom groove rather than higher up the face if in this case the bottom line is more square. Hope this makes sense.
