- In this video i will be going through the process and explaining how to change oil and oil filter on a 2007 zx10R, this process is pretty much the same on just about every street bike you come across.
A tip for anyone who just got a ZX6R or a ZX10R of this year model. If that red oil pressure light is flashing, its because you need to perform a very important step to the oil change. Once you get to the point where you have put the new filter on and have filled the bike with oil again, you need to start it for a sec and spin the filter loose so that it leaks a little oil and then immediately screw it back on. Let the bike idle for a bit so the oil pump cycles through the bike. If you dont do this, you will get about 30 mins down the road and the bike will lose power and shut off. This is because the oil pressure is low since the air wasnt purged from the pump. I dont know why, but there is little to no info on this subject. I thought my bike was blown up until I talked to someone who builds Kawasaki race bikes and he explained it to me. Hope this helps if you have a bike that kicks that light on and then shuts off on you.
Much appreciated, watching from Germany 👌🏼

Thanks man!
How much oil did you put in & how do u know its enough? Is it meant to be full on the window or half way? Thanks.
It takes about 3.7L.
To check level get the bike straight and there is little glass window on the right side of the bike. The level should be about half the window
@@eldar1113 thanks!!!
@@DrivenByGeorgeJexter yea I usually do about the half way mark in the window, sometimes there a little hash marks off to the side where the oil should be as well
