How I Finish Woodcarvings

- A lot of folks ask me how I finish my carvings, so I thought I would settle it once and for all. In this video I show you the process I use to finish hardwood carvings. This is a technique adapted from Ian Norbury. The same method can be applied using water based polyurethane. Occasionally, I’ll add a tiny bit of mineral oil or beeswax to the final coat with a brush-to give the carving a soft luster.

Hi Alec, how does all those carving tools hang on those strip of woods? magnet? nice carvings!
Yes, magnets!
Shaking adds air bubbles into the finish, stirring doesnt as much. Atleast thats the theory. Ive never done a test on it
