All, just a fair warning, there are some spoilers in here, most notably for April Fools Day. I apologize....I shouldn't have gave that one away. Since this video I have been careful on spoilers in top 10s. My general rule for my catalog reviews is to give a warning beforehand. But thank you all for watching.
Seeing a lot of praise for the original Maniac in the comments. So expect a review for that one coming soon. Thank you all for the recommendation and for being awesome! Slashers rule!!!
Are you going to review Brightburn?
TS D'aishia I’ve reviewed it. I think I have anyway haha.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews I haven't watched it yet but people are saying it's one of the worst movies of 2019. I'll watch it today because I love killer kid flicks such as Orphan, The Good Son, The Bad seed, Camp Sleepaway etc. Those kinds of movies are rare.
TS D'aishia No it’s actually a pretty solid flick. I dug it.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews that just proves movies are subjective. What others might dislike, others love 🤷🏽♀️
Halloween 4 opening is epic. All of the Autumn "feel" was excellent.
Halloween 4 is my favorite Halloween of them all
I'm so glad Urban Legend is getting some love. A very underrated slasher.
You nailed it when saying Scream was so important when released. The slasher genre was nearly forgotten until this.
This is amazing list, my favorite slasher movies are Black Christmas (1974), Friday the 13th(1980), A Nightmare on Elm Street(1984) and Halloween(1978).
Top 5!
5 Candyman.
4 Black Christmas.
3 Friday the 13th part 4.
2 Nightmare on Elm Street.
1 Halloween 1978.
Dressed to Kill has some of the best editing and shot construction I've ever seen...the part where Nancy Allen sees Angie Dickenson in the elevator, reaches in, the unseen killer's razor descends as the door is closing, it reflects the light into her eyes, she looks up and sees him in the mirror...just damn. On the subject of Tenebrae, if you liked that one, you have to see Deep Red. It's not a slasher, but it has more ideas than ten standard thrillers. Also, love for Prey at Night; both critics and audiences got that one wrong.
Have you seen Blow Out & Raising Cain ? . Those films also reminded me heavily of Argento. DePalma must have been a huge fan of his. Even more so than Hitchcock.
I find it MAD respectable that you feel you’ve seen enough Slashers to make this list. I hope to get there someday. Mad respect brother. I appreciate so much all that you do for us, can’t wait to get into these! Thank you! Have a great day! 🙏🏻
Prom night music score top notch! And ending pulled at my heart strings.
I love each and every one of these!!!! I need to watch them all again
Alice Sweet Alice is not only one of my favorites, but it is also a gravely underrated slasher. It actually has plenty of mystery and psychological horror elements to it and Paula Sheppard does a great job portraying the the title character. She acts in a way that in my opinion, is offputting and creepy. The lack of emotion really tells you why someone would think she's the killer.
OMG the time has come. This what we were all waiting for and you delivered Lee. Keep it coming Drumdums
mrcooling1983 Thank you!
Awesome list Lee!! This is one of those videos I will watch many times. Thanks man, Slashers rule!🤘
Been waiting for this one Lee let’s do this 🔥
Scream is SUPER slept on.
Yes
That was a great list!! I always love listening to you videos when I am at work. It makes my day more enjoyable so thank you!!
Alexa Parks Thank you Alexa! 👏
yesss, been waiting for this for a minute cause you have such good taste in slashers 😈
Awesome video Lee!!! I'm so happy that your channel has grown so much in these past years!
Thanks man!
You know it's gonna be a good night when Lee uploads a video that is over 30 minutes. Also, I am really enjoying the Patreon vlogs. It's been a great perk for us!
_‘I don’t think Leatherface is actually a slasher, because he’s not stalking victims; they come to him’_
...So, no _Friday the 13th Part III_ either then, I guess, huh?
Most of the F13 franchise, really. I mean he may follow them through the woods or to a cabin, but they came to the lake.
@Jason Amrhein True. And that’s _after_ the ‘crazy old man’ told ’em ‘Camp Blood’ had a _DEATH CURSE!_
Bryan Garcia Definitely a good point and it deserves an explanation. I think it comes down to the fact that when all the prey are at Crystal Lake, Jason Hunt’s every single one of them without a thought. They are his prey. I don’t really get that vibe with leatherface. Sure he does but when provoked constantly. But he really just wants to be left alone. His family is crazier than him.
@Drumdums Very true (my original comment, of course, was only meant as a bit of a joke, but there _is_ an interesting distinction there). I would add that, in the case of Camp Crystal Lake (and, by extension, the summer-camp slasher subgenre as a whole), many of the campers have most likely been sent there more or less against their will; i.e., by their parents or whomever. In other words, it’s not as though they can much help finding themselves in that situation, whereas the freewheeling teens of _The Texas Chain Saw Massacre_ essentially stumble into danger via a series of what can only be described as reckless actions and rash decisions, spurred, more often than not, by petty squabbles amongst themselves. Technically, they _do_ break into the Sawyer house, after all, and it is only after this that we see Leatherface (who, in all likelihood, was just as alarmed to see them as they were him, and was simply defending his home from intruders). Jason, on the other hand (to say nothing of his mother!), is clearly fuelled by the need for revenge (even if the vast majority of the victims have no direct connection to what happened to him all those years ago), and is unmistakably predatory and deliberate in his actions. Anyway, I love your channel, and it’s all good fun, any way you... *_SLICE IT!_*
@Tom Ffrench You know, you're right - that innocent door _did_ go through an awful lot!
Psycho started it all for me. I was really tight with my Grandfather and he taught me about Playboy, crooked politicians and 'scary stuff'. So here I was at a ripe old age of 7 years old in 1960 and walking into the theater with Gramps. I heard a lot of comments from other people whispered to Gramps but he just waved them aside and told them I was ready for the movie. It was absolutely incredible! I didn't understand everything that happened and Gramps took the time to explain about mental illness and a 'mother complex'. So here I sit 60 years later with a home FILLED with horror and scifi collectibles... and not once (that I remember) have gone 'off the rails'.
Great list and great video. Thanks Lee👍🏻
Finally a horror movie playlist i'm gonne watch them back to back, thanks lee!!!!
My opinion
1. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
2. Halloween 2018
3. Child’s Play 2
4. Halloween 4
5. Friday the 13th (Remake)
6. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
7. Curse of Chucky
8. Disturbia
9. Scream 4
10. Bride of Chucky
I really ❤️ Disturbia
Great List!!! Some of my best/ favorites: Psycho 1 and 2, Halloween 1 and 2 (Carpenter not Zombie), Friday the 13th 1 thru 4, Prom Night, Terror Train, The Burning, Maniac, House on Sorority Row, My Bloody Valentine(original), Black Christmas (obviously the original), The Prowler, Pieces, Silent Night Deadly Night, Initiation, Happy Birthday to Me and You’re Next. I’m sure you can notice I’m kind of stuck in the 80’s. You’re Next was one of the best recent horror movies.
"I like variety in my slasher"
-Drumdums 2020
Me too....me too....
Halloween 1978 is also my favorite horror movie of all time. The ending when he disappears and it shows each location with him breathing heavy still gives me chills every time I watch it, which is a bunch.
Absolutely agree. It's like this town has been scarred by pure evil and will never be the same again. A haunting ending.
Great list mate. You NEED to see the original manaic
IMO the remake is way better than the original. But yes, you should see it just for the Savini gore.
@@TheFartbreakKid Such a Dick opinion.
What a great countdown, really enjoyed this Lee, there are some ive not seen and have now gone on my list, Thanks mate.
You're welcome brother!
Glad to see the funhouse !!!
Good shit as always lee!!!!
I'm going to collect them all thanks Drumdums.
My favorite slasher is always between Friday the final chapter and Halloween(78)., As to why someone would dislike this video or any of your content is beyond me my friend, always enjoy when you upload and liked this list a lot!!
Very nice list Lee. Way to tackle that list of 50. Some real nice "gems" on there. April Fool's Day is still one of my all-time favorites that I think fell under the radar. I would also say Black Christmas 74 and Halloween would be my two favorites followed by My Bloody Valentine. Great job on putting that together 👍
I love your list Lee. Keep up the great work my brother.

Knowing your channel, I almost knew what #1 would ultimately be: the unicorn lol. But My God, you must've put an infinite amount of time and dedication to this video! With the exception of a few of these that I have not seen, I can't argue with a single film on this. And I love that you threw some hidden treasures in here like Hell Night, The Prowler, The Burning ( the raft is the greatest of all time!), Sleepaway Camp 2, Pieces and so on.
Nicely done sir!

“How long do you think it’s been since they were here?”
“So what if this place has been broken into?”
“No cops?”
“*Almost* always?”
“What went there?”
“How can you be sure? maybe it was stolen!”
Loved this! I could sit and listen to you talk all day.
Thank you!
Awesome video, man. And I knew what your #1 & #2 were.
Aw damn! Refresh my subscriptions and this banger shows up, wasn’t expecting it, kinda shook lol!
I just love your videos man, great stuff
Thank you good sir!
More top 10s lol top 10 from each decade or something
@@Cooltoytimefun Literally editing one right now. It will be my next video.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews oh nice man! I told my buddy chh to tell you I appreciate you, I’m on twitter same name too
Great list! Gave me some ideas for things I haven’t seen. Thank for all the hard work it must have taken to put this together. I appreciate it.
You aint seen My balls😉
wowww :O major respect for this video lee! really good
Diogo Gomes Thank you so much Diogo! 👏
Great video!! I’m so glad to see Sleepaway Camp II in there, it’s such a fun movie. And of course Halloween is the greatest. Can’t wait for Halloween Kills.
Wow. Great list, bro! Enjoy your horror coverage!
thanks lee love your channel thanks for putting in the time for this video
You're welcome Brett!
This is my kind of video and channel, Subscribed!
Great video, I freaking love slashers
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for your hard work on this video
Wish Friday 13th Part 4 made Top 5 but your Top 5 was very good
Drumdums with the killer top-50 video (pun intended!) You rock 🤟🏼
Thank you Victor!
Excellent list Lee. You have given me multiple new (old) movies to watch. Slashers are one of my favorite sub genre to watch. Thanks brother!
Grey Goose You’re welcome!!
My Top 5 are (1) Psycho, (2) Halloween, (3) Black Christmas, (4) Prom Night and (5) Alice, Sweet Alice! I know the placements on your list can be interchangeable like any true horror fan who has so many favorites it's like an embarrassment of riches! You provided me with a lot of "re-watch" ideas among those more obscure slashers like "The Initiation" which I only saw once on VHS as a kid! Have a great new year...I'll be looking out for new videos every day on here, esp. your new 2020 reviews, classics like the original Carrie (which I haven't yet found on your channel after seeing your review of the remake!), and of course your ranking videos which are the best!!!
Love the list, Lee! Definitely have to check out some of the movies you talked about that I haven’t seen.
5) Tenebre (1982)
4) A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
3) Friday The 13th - The Final Chapter (1984)
2) Psycho (1960)
1) Halloween (1978)
Really enjoyed your Top 50 List !!!
Excellent video, Drumdums !!
Great list - thanks!!! A few to check out eg the initiation - never even heard of it!!!
The Initiation is so good!
I'm behind in watching stuff on here, so I just finally got to watch this. Fantastic choices for this list! And I'm happy to see that you thought highly enough of "Terrifier" to include it! Well done. I don't think I could even make a list with 50 favorites haha.
AestheticStar It was tough Amanda. But Terrifier earned that spot. I’m putting together a top 100 horror movies video. That one is going to be a beast.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews I can imagine it would be, hell I can't even rank franchises half the time let alone make a list like this lol. Oh damn, I'll be looking forward to that one!
Thank you for this list, some of these I haven’t seen. I will do more research
All up in the videos.... You’re welcome!
Great list Lee! One notable one I would like to add is 'Stage Fright'. I also would definitely have Friday the 13th (2009) and Halloween (2018) on my list.
Great list! I love that you have Pieces so highly rated, that movie is so much fun. There were also 5 or 6 movies I haven’t seen on this list so I’ll have to make sure to watch them!
Lee I think you would like the slasher film called StageFright. It’s from 1987 and it features a killer who wears an big owl head mask. It has some great kills as well, one of my top 5 slashers for sure
StageFright's a good one, really well-done. The owl costume is surprisingly creepy. I prefer it to Cemetery Man, also directed by Soavi.
Stage fright was great ending was amazing definitely a top 10 film
Chan Dler good call I have that on dvd and Blu Ray, it’s very creepy and the soundtrack is great 👍
Blood Rage is sick. The humour is good, the killers are gory (props to the guys who made the practical effects) and the "evil twin" trope was nicely used.
Great list!!
Great list - You’re Next, My Bloody Valentine, Halloween and Dream Warriors are some of my faves but also have love for the often underrated Terror Train.
Killer list, man!
Thanks Drumdums! I took notes! This totally resurrected the middle school outcast within from the late 80's early 90's, the thrill of going to the local video store to get the next low budget lo fi direct to VHS beauty I had read about in the side columns and back pages of what was then the latest issues of Fangoria or Gorezone.
This is AWESOME!!!
I watched The Mutilator back in fall and it immediately became out of my all time favorites. Masterpiece.
gibby Yeah, it’s amazing!!
Check out House Of Death, low budget but I love it.
gibby yeah I got that on dvd and Blu Ray it’s good, ending is crazy, you seen the Prowler? Original Toolbox 🧰 Murders?
I got hammered at a wedding, and did the Crispen Glover dance.
willy565 😂😂😂
I hope someone recorded it.
@@TheFartbreakKid It's on a VHS tape from a distant cousin. I need to track her down and put it on UA-cam. I looked like a drunken Vince Vaughn in wedding crashers!
I came looking for an updated list after watching your top 10 slashers to see if your opinions have changed. Wow! Great video, definitely subscribed. I love your insight and opinions. Not to mention I admire your deep love for the genre.
Thank you Jason!👏
Great list.
Great list! Halloween always deserves the #1 spot. The intro to halloween 4 holds a special place to me so I respect you throwing in a comment about that!
Awesome list dude! Love to see both My Bloody Valentines on this and the top 50 horror movies list. 2009 was an amazing year for the Supernatural TV show fans. From the show, Dean stars in My Bloody Valentine remake, and Sam stars in Friday the 13th remake.
Love your channel and this list. I’m always looking to expand my horror movie library and your channel and reviews always direct me to some great films!! Love this list given slashers are my favorite sub-genre!! And I’m just about as obsessed with Halloween and Michael Myers as you are! Keep the videos coming!!
Thank you Ericka!
My Bloody Valentine (1981), Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myer's, A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors, Friday The 13Th Part 2, & The Stranger 2: Prey At Night are My Top 5 Favorite Slasher film's. Great Top 50 Slasher film's Video Drumdum I really Enjoyed Slasher film's with Good Story, Casts, & Kills/ Gore.
Very nice list.
Wow I can’t even name more than 25 you dug deep. Great channel and awesome video
Benjamin Kennedy Thank you Benjamin!
Really happy to see I Know What You Did last summer I the list ✊
You put a lot of work in this Lee-Ster. Did a great job!
willy565 Thank you...and yes I did!
Noteworthy job Lee! I appreciate the effort put in because i know how time-consuming and thorough it can be and hell, i couldn't even tell you my top 10 slashers on the spot without including major franchises. But yeah like other said, you need to Maniac from 1980. Joe Spinell as Frank Zito is the definition of a true maniac and it would easily be in my top 5. And one that has now become of my favourites is Mountaintop Motel Massacre from 1983. It's such a unique slasher and Will Mitchell's character has some of the most cheesiest yet unforgettable lines i have seen in a horror film.

Catching up with your older videos as a new subscriber and what a great list, brought me down memory lane and agree Psycho 2 is underrated and Alice Sweet Alice, OMG, is still an effective shocker and Friday IV to me is the best, saw it in the theater and it was just wow!
Look forward catching up with your library of other videos
Fantastic list Lee!!!! Thanks for including the Bloody Valentine remake which I just adore!! I would have included Terror Train and He knows you're Alone.
Karla Straight I almost included terror train. Love that one actually. I love that the killer is exactly who you think it is too ha ha.

Amazing List 😊
I’m so glad to have seen 34 of these 50 films on your list
This was great, thanks so much for putting time and effort into this!
Some new discoveries here.
Suggestions:
- Cold Prey: Norwegian slasher trilogy really worth your time, atmospheric and eerie and you actually care for the characters
- Cub: dark Flemish (Belgian) slasher played out in a scouts camp (making it scarier as kids are involved)
Ps was slightly distracted by your arms😂
Thank you!! 👏🔥
Nice ranking video of top 50 slashers and I discovered your channel during the review of urban legend 1998
Michael Myers Awesome! Thank you for watching!
Awesome top 50 ! I'm really glad to see u included BLOOD RAGE 1987 ! I totally love the '06 BLACK CHRISTMAS without yet seeing the '19 remake.
Im glad I recommend you the initiation it's so good
Fantastic List, Lee! You worked your ass off on this I’m sure, but it paid off. I enjoyed this!! 🤗🤗🤗🎃🎃🎃
Ravenwind999 Thank you Theda!
Great channel.
Great list, Lee! I was glad to see most of those, like FD13 Final Chapter (Ted White is my fave Jason too), Sleepaway Camp, My Bloody Valentine, Halloween (all 3)...although maybe in different orders 😁😉. There was a handful on there that piqued my interest, that I’ll be watching real soon lol...guess I’ve been out of touch with horror movies lately 🤷🏾♀️😁
Slaughter High is a good slasher movie and would be on my list. Another one on my list would be Valentine. I really liked that movie...I think it was kind of underrated because it came out during the “Scream era”...but that Cupid mask was really creepy, the kills were cool and the ending had kind of a twist lol.
this was pretty spot on 👍
