So many of us, all around the world, seem kind of down. It's so sad everywhere. I keep thinking how good my life is and how grateful I am. 💝
I'm one of those stange people who love winter weather, as long as it doesn't cause damage. Wind and rain. Love that. Curl up with a good book, work on crafts, do art work, watch movies, just love it. It's easy for me to say, since I'm retired, and don't have to get out in it anymore, but I also love snow. Sweet Jack, I hope he feels good. Bless him. Suzi you look fabulous.

@Jackiegee60I went to Morocco in October cheap and cheerful couple of weeks. I couldn’t believe how much lower the light levels were when I came home. It effected me much more than the drop in temperatures.

Black belt looks fab with that outfit 👍🏻I’m along the coast from you and it’s been impossible to stand up let alone walk recently. Gales and rain hammering down. I don’t get sad in January but I did in December. I struggle to get through December so am relieved to get to January and don’t mind short daylight hours. It’s always good to rant and get it said out loud rather than stewing..healthier.
I haven’t seen Wonka but hear that Hugh Grant is good in it. Looking forward to your next video..Jack is amazing bless him 🐶🤗✨

Daughter works for Nottingham Wildlife Trust, and not been able to get to work this weekend because its flooded out still, and our son said on Friday coming back out of Nottingham after dropping friend off, that it took extra 3/4 hr because of the floods.

I can join you in the winter blues. It is so cold and dreary here in Pennsylvania. I do not like January or February at all. Still dark pretty early and bare trees, not much snow. The cold temps make it so hard to go out and do chores etc. Sunny days help when they arrive here and there. Good books help pass the time. You look fabulous. Mx

Love your share on vitamins and eating real food for their vitamins. It’s so true . I am planning my meals for my family as well. To have fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Organic vegetables are much pricier though. I try to buy organic these days. I find the taste much tastier eg garlic . It makes a lot of difference.

So sorry you can’t get away this year. I’m off to Nz again tomorrow and love escaping to the sun in jan and feb. We’ve had sunshine and frost for the last two days and what a difference it makes to everyone’s mood. On the plus side I have daffodils flowering and I’m in the Lake District. Spring is on the way!

I feel the same as you. It is such a letdown from all the holiday activities, and they were amazing this year. I know it won't make you feel any better, but we are having the same weather here in South Florida. No beach. It's rainy, cold, and dreary. This winter is very unusual. So I wear bright clothes and makeup, open my blinds and shades, and keep the lights on. I am also taking my vitamin D. Let's hope it won't last. Keep positive!

I totally understand we had our Buddy for 15 years..loved him every single day...but at the age of over 60 now...I wouldn't want to be stuck with planning around a dog again...yes people looked after him when we went on holidays and we did put him in kennels a couple of nights...but then you feel guilty....so now we can just upsticks for the day and not have to hurry home after a couple of hours...xx

Happy New Year Suzi; I love the black glasses, they flatter your skin colour and your hair colour. January is such a difficult month for so many people, it can be a let down after the busy holiday season as well as being dismal and cold. I think that so many of us suffer from SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder, so the January blues are relatable to so many people.
I've got the SAD light out when decluttering the room under the stairs!!! It's going on today and onwards. But the High Fives really helped too! Glad I'm not alone. x

Sorry to hear you’re feeling ‘down’. I don’t exactly make New Years resolutions, only to try to get healthier. But this year I’m trying to get back into doing Tai chi at home (I’ve got a few videos) as I’ve got a chronic bad back caused by a car accident. And I find if I sit too long I can hardly move when I try to stand up. So that’s one thing that I’m aiming to do.
You look lovely, I love your outfit - you look really smart, & your hair & makeup look very nice too. Also LOVE your glasses, they’re gorgeous.

I was just talking about this with my 13 year old grandson, and he said he experiences SAD. I explained what it is and that it’s temporary and the tools that help like eating well, exercise and the light made for this that I use and helps. Thanks for all the conversation about what most of us are experiencing going from the hustle, bustle and highs of the holidays, weather change, but “this too shall pass”😂. I have many goals and plans in all areas of life for the first time in many years, so that’s good. “Spring hasn’t failed us yet”. We have that to look forward to. 🌷🌸🌼. It’s always great and encouraging to see all of your vlogs no matter what, because , being human, we can relate to one another on many issues. Thanks again, Suzi. 🤗

I found this Xmas weather grim. Like you I’ve got soaked so many times. I would love to spend Xmas out of the UK. My partner is often on call at Xmas but when the time comes we are going to try and be away for a month or two. One of us always seems to get sick in December too. I spent Xmas day and Boxing Day in bed. The short days are so depressing. Some people I know love it though. Each to their own. Roll on spring. Happy New Year. I am a huge fan of Tim Spector.

Hello Beverley, thank you for your lovely message. Yes, I have thought about getting in that pond many times but I need the sauna before hand! I’ve made a note that I must not get into it if it’s under 15 degrees, especially on my own. So wouldn’t risk it now. I would with experts around! Big love from a very cold but sunny Brighton. Hi from Annie it is ok to feel bit down and sad we all do at times, no shame attached to it well there shouldn't be just let yourself feel whatever it is....weather here in Adelaide has been hot humid windy with that dust from north etc it is awful, can't really go out in that weather, not used to all this humidity have to change clothes several times a day and shower few times too.We sweat so much from humidity no nice at all. You have not got the energy to exercise or do housework even, you feel lethargic etc not pleasant at all. We hang our for that cool change and like the rain if it behaves itself
Ok Suzy, my turn, I'm in California on the coast and the weather here is absolutely awful ,I don't know about you but we get alot of that thick pea soup fog I freaking hate it! Its cold and damp all the time and gray skies.So I'm moving to sunny Arizonia in the middle of the desert! I love lots of sunshine it makes all the difference in the world to my well being and mood. I wish you would do a trampoline workout with all of us,that would be fun, and how about doing a face yoga that we could all do along with you and watch the results.Thank you that was a wonderful video. That awful sea mist, fret as it’s called here. I remember it so well on the coast of California and the June gloom in LA last time I was there! I’m like you and need sunshine every day, not heat, just sunshine. I’m very happy today ‘cause I have had 3 solid days of sunshine and it’s very cold. I don’t do a trampoline workout I’m afraid, I just put whatever the radio if playing and bounce or run for the length of the track at least twice a day. But I can work on it! And also don’t know any face yoga as I’m not an expert. But I will look into that too x
It’s been gray days in MN as well. It’s starting to get colder out although our winter has been amazing 30s above freezing. I’m going out to exercise on the Nustep to get the blood flowing. ❤❤
What's a Nustep? I've been bouncing on my trampoline, it certainly helps. x
@@AlternativeAgeing NuStep Cross Trainers - Combines Upper & Lower Body Movement For A Full-Body Workout while In seated position. I’m in a wheelchair but many other people use it at the gym. I use it for 25 minutes. It has resistance levels etc. Google it sometime. Love. It.

Suzi I swim at least 3 times a week yes in a swimming pool indoor 50 metre pool.I get there for 7am and it makes such a difference to my mental health as I hate the winter ,it start,s the day right for me.L normally do a least a hour so that,s my exercise for the day. Barbara x

My husband and I went out for lunch on New Year's Day. As soon as we left I started feeling ill. Got pretty bad. Him as well but not so bad. I thought maybe I had covid, but the pharmacy had no tests. On the mend finally. But a miserable week.

Hello Suzi I have been feeling down this week, and now I have a rotten cold, but things can only improve from now. I have seen that Tim Spector has done a collaboration with M and S to produce a probiotic shot that looks interesting. Hope the weather improves so we can all get out and about a bit more. xx

Hi Susie! I live in a part of Australia that is desperate for rain. Our dam is half full, and some dearly loved plants are almost on their way out. Bring on the rain!! Even though 2023 was a year that knocked me flat and tested my resilience and adaptability, 2024 will be a year of positivity and new beginnings. My yoga and meditation practice (chanting and guided meditation)were my companions all through the turmoil and will be throughout this year. My mum taught me that singing will instantly change your mood, as does a good laugh😂 ( something you're great at Susie). Bought a beautiful velvet green cover for the duvet l have on my sofa to hunker down under with a book, DVD, life planner, journal, sewing. I am SO happy to have no one to spoil this relaxation and non routine. Its fab.
I hankered after a flat l saw on the coast at Christmas and your eerie Wind in the Willows soundtrack brought me to my senses. 🌊💨🍃😬

@@AlternativeAgeing💌 I do understand Suzi about the LIGHT for some. What changed me from hating rainy or downcast days, I lived in a hot dazzling country for 10 years and l now find it a relief not to be dazzled all day😵
If too gloomy to iron, l use a spotlight directed on the ironing board. 🔦⛈ 🤗. To think l did all that out on the terrace☀️
