I love the little comments you added about your experiences. I always go through so many iterations of hair for my characters before i decide on one, but it always takes me hours, if not days to finally feel happy with one. I thought I was doing something so so wrong! so thanks for reassuring me haha. It's just the creative process!

im glad! I really wanted these tutorials to contain all my thoughts, which also includes the self doubt and the remaking. Dont even worry, its VERY rare im happy with a hair straight away, i may remake it 1-2 times if its something i struggle with!

Well, I never ended up doing this, but I come back to it like... once every few months since this kind of pretty hair is the type I wanna model.
Yesterday, during a bout of sleeplessness, I actually manage to draw some hair that I'm satisfied with, and I'm going to use what I'm learning here to make it happen. My hope is I actually do it this time.

Here is a thing I observe that I think should be noted by people new to sculpting hair with curves like this. There's a good reason to start a curve from mesh as done here instead of just with the "add curve" option. IT DRAMATICALLY affects how blender will add geometry to the lines you are working with in edit mode. I have always found curves to be fussy, but after having learned this tip, they are MUCH easier to work with in the viewport. The geometry actually BEHAVES when you extrude and rotate the curve!
