    I would say black tip shark is better than 75% of commercially available fish. It's a very nice firm white meat that you can cook anyway you want fried nuggets, blackened, grilled, All come out amazing.

    I use to black tip fish in Myrtle Beach when I lived there around 15 years ago! I love them barbequed ! I usually harvest the mid sized ones, around 50 LB or so.

    Had 2 sandbar sharks spool me last year on that beach. Caught the 3rd one but it was a fight. A first for me to catch those sharks. Never had an idea that they were so strong. You better have the proper gear if you want target sharks in that area.

    I fish in Mississippi most of time and it’s hard to get a fish in because of the sharks. But when we catch a shark it’s too small to keep. They are mostly black tips

    So the line slipping across your finger when you cast is what cuts your finger with braid? Hadn't heard that. I bought a special purpose one finger glove for this, now I know how to avoid it completely. Useful info.

    The problem with shark is that they’re hot blooded. if you get the liver out immediately, and ice down the interior body, they are pretty good eating. Marinating can actually make it very tasty.

      They release waste through their skin, and they do that in the time between when you catch them and fillet them.

    That shark with the hook in it's mouth is probably dead from the hook

    • @AnglerUpTv
      @AnglerUpTv  2 місяці тому +1

      That’s false. Those hooks barely do anything. We pulled 35 stingray barbs stuck in a sharks mouth one time. That’s a main part of their diet. We were keeping the shark and found the barbs when cutting out the jaws.
