This girl is a giant or what? She sings delightfully in Portuguese. Tom Jobim would love to listen her...CONGRATS Mrs. Payés. (E ainda toca trombone!!!!)
Very melancholy, emotional and moody composition....who could pull it off better than Rita? Beautifully performed...exquisite because she sings from the depth of her beautiful heart.....sincere, genuine and original
u hit the nail on the head....just had this discussion with my friend whose dad is a famous jazz sax in USA....sincere, genuine, from the heart, every song....
Wow! Rita's voice has matured so much and enough to handle this very difficult piece. Her brother Eudald plays a sonorous trumpet solo I love!! All fit together so well. Kudos to whoever recorded this.
good point....i just watched some old stuff and she was fabulous, but sounded like a kid still....for my money she is the best jazz singer since Billie...
@@eytonshalom i wondered if i had gone crazy having a similar thought, but after listening to the latest album she just put out, i was convinced this was a legend in the making, sending all the right chills to my spine.
Wonderful, Rita. Thank you. Please keep posting. With your quintet, duet, or solo. You are appreciated around the world. But it may take some time for people to find you. I am a huge fan of your music, and I just found your site today. Cheers!!

Lembrou-me o Chet no álbum Almost Blue!
Hermosa voz la de Rita!!! El trompetista se parece mucho a Rita y cuando miré los créditos me di cuenta que son familia 😑 El contrabajo es mucho arte, sin dejar de lado la sutileza de la guitarra de Rai. Felicidades
When I heard her for the very first time , I asked myself " Do hear here a new wold star, as well as a singer as on trombone. " She has it all. Congrats Rita and also your brother !
This song is on a 5-song EP by Eudald with Rita on vocals. I found the recording on Spotify's "Cozy Jazz" playlist. Right now, it is song 141. It is no. 30 on Spotify's Easy Jazz Playlist.
Very nice, up to your usual high standard! Could you please credit the song? Who wrote the music and who wrote the lyric? I do not know this song. (If you wrote it, Rita, that's amazing!)
@@kristinajakovljevic7761 Oh wow, thanks for the correction. My godfather is from Catalonia. I just assumed she was Brazilian since she was part of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band.
Someone told me a few days ago that they thought Kris Tena composed this. (She performed stuff with Eudald and Rita on separate occasions and also videoed Rita for "Blame it on my youth" and produced an impressive video for Eudald's release of Alma en Vilo".)
You're right, lots of potential on the international market, but she's going to need some training on how to sound English (whether she picks an American accent or a British one) when she sings in English.
Not so sure about that, as far as I can tell she does fine in Catalan and Spanish obviously, all Joan Chamorro pupils seem well versed in Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese also. That is quite a market there already. Besides she' s just 19, plenty of time and she may well start exploring different musical paths as the cooperation with her mother Elisabeth Roma seems to indicate. There is a Fado on UA-cam ( Lagrima ) from 2016 where she sings so hauntingly it tramples your heart and rips the soul out of your body, in other words as it should be sung. I don' t really understand Portuguese, but that isn' t necessary... trust me. I still find it hard to believe a 16-year-old can sing with such conviction and feeling that my eyes misted over.
Well, it is not so easy for people from the " Latin language group " to speak English or to pronounce English and visa versa. Nobody spook English in Spain, only the last decade that they made a big progress, but still a lot of work to do. On the other hand , it is music, it has its charm. I listen to the music, and much less at the lyrics. Her singing and playing is just perfect.
Rita madurando como solista en una hermosa ballad magistralmente interpretada por un grupo de talentos. Esto es un evento de primer nilvel.

Minha descoberta musical de 2019. Estou encantando com ela cantando em tantos idiomas.
Tive a mesma reação! (x

Rita is my new favorite singer. impeccable voice and phrasing. also her trombone skills are so so soulful
As a female young trombonist, I feel the need to say that you inspire me so much! Thanks for making me belive that´s possible,
Very melancholy, emotional and moody composition....who could pull it off better than Rita? Beautifully performed...exquisite because she sings from the depth of her beautiful heart.....sincere, genuine and original
Rita has always been in touch with something beyond this world ... and seems to explore it in much of her music. I love her too!

This is the best Rita Payes performance I’ve seen! Fabulous.

Jazz del bueno!
Rita, You're extraordinary! I'm a bass player and my real name is David Maslow!
He aquí el Jazz. ¡Buenísimos!
I absolutely love how she hugs her horn. What nationality is she? I don’t recognize the language. Somebody give some info please.
She's either Brazilian or Portuguese.
Rita is Spanish (Catalan), from Barcelona! :)

Quina veu la Rita amb aquests bons musics ... Sou tots del San andreu Jazz Band ?
rita. draggin people up for years. dusky and humble
jazz woow
Knowing who her mother is it's not surprising she chose music as a career, but wow she been hot since she was with Joan Camorrow. Dig it, Rita!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
where you from?
Ella es catalana de barcelona
A mute trumpet would add a touch of instrumental delicacy to the piece, a touch of Miles Davis.
Wait - I know she has good ears but for a second there It looked like she has eyes too-?
Magical. Walking dead people gave this a thumb down...
These older singers need to move over!
Such a fine performance! Certainly one I will revisit often. A year later I think she topped it.

Beautiful voice but the accent could use some work
You're right, lots of potential on the international market, but she's going to need some training on how to sound English (whether she picks an American accent or a British one) when she sings in English.
Charming as it may be, it is difficult to make out what she's saying. Can't say it diminishes my own enjoyment all that much...

@@flyindustman1 Well she sings very well, but she does have an accent when she sings in Portuguese.
