This guy is a saint. A true doctor, knowledgeable and clearly articulate in his wording. I can only wish I had a doc like this right now, I can’t work out what’s wrong with me yet.
I have a intermittent downbeat nystagmus that continues when I move my eyes side to side in primary position. I also have it during the Dix Hallpike but it dissipates after a few minutes. I do have a Chiari Malformation. I keep getting bounced Neuro & Otology. I feel like my Nystagmus is the key. I went to John Hopkins and the Otologist said the Nystagmus is definitely from my Cerebellum because I still have it moving my eyes side to side. It’s frustrating that most doctors admittedly do not understand Nystagmus. I appreciate your videos
Dr. Lee. Thank you for this video. I have been suffering from this condition for years now. I have had all the things you mentioned done that include brain MRI, thorough ear exam, and eye exam and so far signs point to some mismatch is my eyes in the vertical axis (strabismus I believe they call it). Your video is relieving as I feel crazy just telling people that I suffer from this. My biggest problem is driving and it absolutely makes me go crazy with dizziness. I used to be able to drive on the highway and now even regular roads at 40 mph give me some trouble, especially on open roads where I can see a lot to the side. I would love to hear any thoughts you may have and will even consider visiting you if that is a practical option.
Look into binocular vision dysfunctions, such as vertical heterophoria. Your symptoms sound just like mine & there is treatment available. Dr. Debby Feinberg or Dr. Erin Sonneberg are good places to start. Hope this helps!!
@@ninabrueggeman756 Thanks Nina. I have already tried that. Vertical prisms did not help me. I got help from Dr. Orlando from Portugal who also trained Dr. Doug Stephey in Covina, California. I now have smart prisms which are at a slightly different axis than the vertical prisms. They have helped me a lot, but I am not symptom free. I still have trouble driving on open freeways at a high speed.
Mine is triggered by some movement but it's incredibly exacerbated by scrolling through texts and video games. This is horrible because my entire job was scrolling through tons of text and my whole system will misfire. Heart rate and blood pressure jumps, I get confused and have memory issues. I revert to normal a couple of days of not using the computer.
Binocular visual disorder BVP- dizzy when reading, Losing my place on lines when reading must use a ruler, dizzy when changing lanes, headaches, my eyes don’t match so my brain gets mixed signals it makes me dizzy, I got Prism glasses and it fixed everything including anxiety.
I’m been suffering with this for years, makes me really unwell. I’ve also just recently been diagnosed with bilateral vestibular loss & pppd. I’m worried I’ll never get my life back . Been told it’s going to be hard to treat as I have ME/CFS and Central sensitivity syndrome on top of everything else. Starting vestibular rehabilitation next month to see if it helps with anything 🤞🤞
You have best described my issue. I have visited numerous Drs including a physician,an ENT and a neurologist but no treatment corrected my visual vertigo. How to consult you remotely?
My vertigo is triggered by visual sensory overload. Nightblind. Bright light at night(cars/ outdoor lighting), no spinning items such as coin op laundry dryers, ect. Spinning car tyres doesn't trigger vertigo cause the car is moving. Closed spaces like rooms or elevators, non ventilated rooms with cigarette smoke, ELF waves(sound systems with sub woofer). It is terrible, and so many triggers, that I'm unable to be happy always on the caution about everywhere I'm at at the time. Wish there was a cure without pills or surgery. I want one time treatment to cure this forsaken curse. No treatment without the doctor even thinking about cure. I have a somewhat o.k. health, No pills, cigs., or Alcohol. Cronic pain is eased by: THC(Colorado, U.S.A.). BullyBilly.
I'm having vertigo issues but I'm thinking it's my glasses, I probably need a new pair. I've been wobbly for a while but hadn't realized when i take them off to rest I'd feel better. Also was better when driving. I'm just not looking through them when walking around and seems to be helping but can't do that all the time so I'll go see about a new pair as soon as I can.
H is there any objective testing for this if all three triangle tests are negative? Can a concussion cause this along with blurry vision with head and eye movement?
I get vertigo maybe twice a year. Get it always when i get out of bed. The first day is horrible. It starts to subside but dizziness off balance can last for a month. Sometimes I think anxiety adds to it. Seems to be on one ear. Would a cranial chiropractor help. Also effects my eyes. Please help.
Have you had an eye exam? Ask your optometrist to test if you have a binocular vision dysfunction. I recently got a new glasses script to treat this and I've noticed significant improvement of my symptoms.
@@edwingarcia9626 I'm I Australia so probably not much help. But try kid's optometrists, it's more commonly tested in children to treat the obvious binocular issues like cross-eyed, lazy eye etc...
@@Lexrhomb I have mal de debarquement but when I go into a store and see bright lights and patterns and narrow hallways I become dizzy and disoriented. As soon as I enter the store it kicks me hard. Might also have bvd.
Wow. So I had to stop watching because your hand movement made me disoriented. That's how severe mine is. I can't tolerate anything. I get sick. And I get worse. Maybe I will try and write you. Not many doctors understand this. But I'd add that the neck plays a role.
Walking into department stores makes me dizzy
