Well, the G-man's dialogue was poorly written and acted. He basically tells Shephard nothing, what he says does not seem complete and flows poorly, then he sends him on a mission.

Better aiming you sure he needs a laser sight to aim properly in half life opposing force, and i really hope they would add that laser thing to the mod too
@BossHossGT500 i mean the laser in the rpg is for the laser guide so the rocket will follow but the desert eagle laser sight makes it accurate i am dead serious sheperd misses the shot without his laser sight.

I wish they added more lines regarding Shepherd's appearance. He is the only guy still wearing American military uniform in the whole world, they should comment on it more. The guys at the beginning are good but the guy in the apartment is just weird since he doesn't even think it's strange for an army guy just to wander around 20 years after their annihilation.

Imagine enlisting into the Marines to pay off college debt and on your first deployment you're met by goofy ass aliens trying to kill everyone to then get sucked into stasis by good ol' Gman to later be thrown out into what seams like another world. That's basically what happened to Gordon besides enlisting into the Marines.

As someone who played opposing forces taking turns with his friends in 2003-4 this is beautiful honestly super nostalgia vibes when he put his gas mask on ... This is fantastic!
Half life and portal. Setting them in the same universe and never having the character come together to face the alien threat together is such a waste of potential. Imagine it, gordone freeman, alyx vance, and chel with the gravity gun, and the portal gun tech, barney and sheppard, along with alyxs robot and atlas/pbody and glados. So much potential. Yet the plot of "epistle 3" was so bland. Its no wonder it got cancelled. It was a complete waste.
I like the idea that Shepherd is the one that sparks city 17 into open rebellion turning the resistance from a scattered escape line into a fighting force in Gordon’s absence
gordon's HEV was modified to be able to charge with combine technology. Shephard's PCV seems to be the same one, so it doesn't really make sense he is able to charge it with combine ports. It would be cool to not be able to charge on combine chargers and wall heal chargers, with only some decayed old places where you can find the old HL Alyx hand wall healer with the grub that doesn't need a port, and the medkits that any civilian can use the same way. Until at some point you have some npc modify the PCV somewhere along the line, preferable at the beginning.
Since the powered combat vest was used by HECU marines, I assume it was designed to take energy from any source so they could continue in otherwise dangerous situations
This is a demo, not the final product although this is the first chapter and yes that is the Dr Kleiner Voice actor. The creator and his team also managed to get Lani Minella the voice actress for Colette Green and does voices for some citizens.
I played the demo and the gman model was the normal hl2 one, not sure if this is just a side mod on OP's part or if the devs released a patch for their demo
Adrian literally went to the future while the new military forces are already using new suits and helmets while Adrain is still wearing his old military suit and the mask as well.
According to the moddb page they did actually get some of the original voice actors for the mod, plus Corey Cruise who's been the Postal Dude for the last few Postal games.
Pretty fun looking so far. I feel like the environmental story needs a lot more love and work put into it. For a US Marine to be plucked and dropped into a different time, the NPCs act too normally around him. I also feel like the power suit thing should've been more of a Black Mesa HEV suit exclusive. I feel like that was a weird that shouldn't have been brought over.

This does not seem like a proper sequel. Adrian is just brought back exactly the same way he was when he was placed into stasis 20 years ago since the black mesa incident. I think the citizens here would be more shocked to see some guy in a marine outfit walking around. Like in Half - Life 2 when Eli Vance looked at gordon and said "he does not look like he aged a day at all" but then shrugged it off and went on like business as usual. Gordon is also 27 years old in half - life 1 and is now, technically, 47 years old. Shepard here is wearing an outfit that was, and I am talking about the games timeline here, 20 years ago from the first game to this game. The G-man would do a better job then what we are seeing here at bringing Shepard back from stasis into this timeline. Gordon Freeman was brought back from stasis quietly and in civilian clothes so the people on the train were not alarmed. Civilian simply spotted him and said "huh, I didnt see you get on this train". Gordon freeman also got his HEV suit later on except it was also upgraded and modified a bit to work with combine chargers and other technologies. I encourage the developers to take another try at this.
Because gman wanted Gordon to see how the earth has become in civilian eyes during the beginning. Meanwhile Adrian's purpose here was solely to raise hell for the combine and trigger the massive rebellion in the last chapters of HL2. It makes sense for gman to simply drop him in combat attire as opposed to civil one.
I believe that is my artwork you used for the thumbnail. Probably should change it to reflect this mod specifically, especially because I know the dev team and it would be out of respect.
Besides the weapons, nothing here really looks like an Opposing Force game, really it just looks like another HL2 map. It doesn't even have the first game's most interesting aspect, which was squadmates with their own abilities that you could order around.
But it wouldn't make sense that a M4/M16 still exists in the events of HL2 because the Combine could have destroyed any firearms that are used by the former military Same goes for the Deagle

Amazing how the story led to him being a minority in the new world of Half Life 2 that got razed by the Xen creatures (vortigaunts excluded of course) and the Combine: his top two enemies. It would have been epic if Valve had him team up with the Resistance since the Combine would generally see the militaries of the UN as their enemies, Shephard included. Nostalgia! I remember teaming up with so many scientists and security guards in Opposing Force. It felt right. 💯
they should probably make up the wrench just like in the original game, aka it having 2 types of hits; the fast one, and a charged one, that will be dealing way more damage. Also, they should probably make up the animations of wrench more to the opposing force ones, and make it a lil bit slower, but buff it's main attack damage
I like this mod, because it depicts a very good and accurate alternate scenario if Shephard found a way out of that helicopter in the void the G-Man sent him to, at the end of Opposing Force. Like waking up in a different part of City 17. Nostalgia! 😆😆😎👌💯
the thing is Vaule made parts of the Opposing force sequel even a whole new enemy that are zombies but even more worse and you meet your ol'pal and he tried to make a cure to the heardcrabs not being able to infect you and take over but they all failed making these nightmares and even monkeys are a enemy to you and the show their weakness via flashlight it was cool forgot what video it was
I want these to happen if there will be a Half Life: Shepard game. The intro of the game is that Shepard is still in the helicopter realm and he remembers the times that Gman always visited their headquarters and he is always talking to their superiors... and then suddenly, he heard the voices of the combine soldiers and something lighted up like a box and this is the vault that was used to imprison G-Man in Half Life: Alyx .. he heard the voices of the combine soldiers like this "it's him! capture him !" , "we need to capture him at any cost", they are capturing G-Man using the vault and those voices are heard by Shepard in the realm and he see a vague images of the combine soldiers capturing G-man .. and after they locked gman in the vault, there was a small crack or small portal appeared where Shepard was.. because of the G-man's captive , the force that keeping Shepard unable to move has been weakened and Shepard was freed and able to move again and then suddenly multiple portals comes out from every direction in the realm where Shepard is being freeze .. and Shepard was just staring at the small portal near him that came out and thought to approach it and he got absorbed by it and he blocked out ..( like what happened to Freeman when the Resonance cascade happened .. the screen blocked out and then teleported to xen). When Shepard woke up, he first saw the big xen crystal next to him .. and surrounded by people wearing tribal clothing as if they were worshiping or praying in front of the big xen crystal .. the small portal that Shepard entered was going or connected to the big Xen crystal that where it was prayed by the tribe .. Shepard was teleported to the continent that looks like Africa with tribe living in a big cave like a big city and the combine forces can't track them .. this tribe are praying together in front of the big xen crystal.. this tribe tamed the half life 1 aliens and the aliens became their helpers to survive.. just like the Bullsquids they made like horses because their legs are strong and because they also run quite fast and also the houndeyes they are like the dogs and alerting everyone if there's something suspicious entering their place or hideout.. and they also have vortigaunts with them who are also praying in front of the xen crystal.. and when they are all praying altogether, suddenly the big xen crystal lit up and Shepard come out or teleported in there .. they think that Shepard was sent to help them and this will be the adventure of Shepard xD .. (Sorry for my bad English xD) In Africa chapters Shepard will meet some kind of Freedom Fighters and they have with them one of the survivor of the Black Mesa incident and he is Doctor Walter .. and they have also Vortigaunts .. Doctor Walter telling Shepard that he got separated from Dr. Rosenberg , Dr. Simmons and Barney because while they are escaping, the 7 hour war just started... and combine army invaded the Earth . The Tribe and the Freedom Fighters didn't got notice by the combine because the Vortigaunts blocking all signals from outside the continent or outside their territory or headquarter because of that they are safe from combine invasion and the combine thinks that it's just an empty and an already destroyed country or place they just destroyed some of the cities in there .... but in turn because of the signal blocking , they have no idea what's happening outside the continent and they didn't receive any of the message of Dr.Kleiner, Eli and the resistance but after Shepard just got teleported in there , they think that it's time to stop the blocking of signals or whatever signals 🤣 and they think it's time to help the humanity The villains in this Half Life: Shepard game will be these people/monsters: 1. The rival tribe that lives in the forest or maybe in other places on this continent.. they have this kind of ceremony or ritual that they put tamed headcrabs on the head of their people to make them stronger and fast.. they call this ritual "The Bond" or "The Fusion" (hahaha sorry I can't think of a better name for this ritual xD) they are making zombie headcrabs but not actually zombie because the human are still 70% conscious because they tamed these special headcrabs .. after the successful bond of headcrab on the head of the human, the human now will gain abnormal amount of strength and speed that they can jump higher or run faster but their speech is not that clear like they have difficulty in breathing. (Africa continent chapter) 2. Half Life 1 and race X aliens upgraded and enslaved by the combine empire: Like the Gargantua .. they are now shooting lava and the combine modified it's appearance to make it look cool 😎 and also the race X aliens Pit Drone . It's now looks terrifying and run fast now and shoots spikes really fast and it has poison that you will lose your health every second 3. Upgraded Combine soldiers some of them now are using jetpacks with upgraded guns. These combines will appear in the Europe continent chapters 4. One of the high ranking combine advisor or whatever high ranking creature in the form of a human just like G-Man will visit Earth and he will be the final boss of the game .. Combine employer or high ranking officers have been worried because Shepard escaped G-Mans stasis and they are being paranoid that maybe Shepard will sabotage their plans (but they didn't know that G-Man planned this, maybe G-Man will betray the employers?) .. this advisor has a power like G-Man that he opens portals and send you there and he can summon soldiers just by opening door portals to fight you . And he can also send you to other dimension in the past and kill you there by influencing the timeline. In this entire game , you will see a cameos of Gordon Freeman wearing HEV suit.. you know, just like G-Man, that you will see him in a distance in the entire game in different locations and when you see or spot him or go near him he will walk away and he will disappear .. but why Gordon ? Maybe that Gordon is from the future ? And he stole G-Man's power or maybe G-Man gave it to him? G-Man will not be a cameo because he is being imprisoned in the vault but he will only appear in the last scene... And maybe Gordon now is visiting timelines now to influence the past or the events in that timeline? Maybe Gordon, G-Man and the Employers are doing a war of timelines xD hahaha .. and in Europe chapters Shepard will meet Father Grigori .. Shepard will help Grigori to save and rescue civilians .. and they will take their separate ways when they are finally safe and father Grigori telling Shepard that they know a safe town called Ravenholm and father Grigori and other civilians will go there ( maybe in hl2 Father Grigori loses his mind because he sees all of the people he care turning into headcrab zombies and he has no other choice but to kill them) After Shepard defeated the final boss , the final boss is about to explode just like Nihilant when it got defeated by Gordon and the air is cracking near Shepard like it's opening multiple crack portals and it's showing different timelines. In one of this portals, you can see a cameo of the Mystery woman (the woman from HL:A that's talking about moving the box) and also there's a crack portal and you can see a cameo of Chell and also a crack portal with the HECU soldiers fighting the Hl1 aliens in the black Mesa and also a crack portal showing Otis survived the nuclear explosion because he's in some kind of bomb shelter something like that .. maybe some scientists in BlackMesa created a very non destructive shelter like that in case some explosion happens in Black Mesa 🤣... and also a crack portal showing Gordon and Vortigaunts just staring at him .. After you beat the final boss, after all of that portals just appeared, G-Man will appear and he will get Shepard again and he will send himself and Shepard to another dimension.. the G-Man that took Shepard after beating the final boss is one of the G-Man that separated from the original G-Man in the ending of Half Life Alyx (when G-man is talking to young Alyx and he split himself into multiple G-Man in the ending scene of HLA) G-Man will talk to Shepard like this "Corporal Shepard , we meet again arghhhgaghhj (difficult breathing xD) blah blah blah blah" .. like that 🤣 Maybe G-Man will use Shepard against Gordon or to help Gordon ?
This looks more canon to me, shepard is the one triggering massive rebellion in city 17 during Gordon and alyx absence. It ties to the story perfectly.
He wears a military uniform, the combine just assumes he is part of the rebel. Also just like Gordon he isn't tagged, even if he wears a civilian suit the combine will still kill him
It's about time they make the sequel the only thing I don't understand is why are they using the Half-Life 2 mode make sure you use a better graphics and different enemies 😏
A lot of people don’t understand Adrian Shepards purpose, I am a strong believer that the Combine soldiers was based off Adrian Shepard. Not just them sharing gas mask face design but even their weaponry and the way they move is a lot like the HECU soldiers in the first game. I want an official sequel showing Adrian being the base DNA for the combine and him being the key to destroying them.
I can't tell if this mod creator thinks "Night Vision" means "giant green flashlight", or if he simply couldn't figure out how to make convincing NVG in source.

Pretty fun looking so far. I feel like the environmental story needs a lot more love and work put into it. For a US Marine to be plucked and dropped into a different time, the NPCs act too normally around him. I also feel like the power suit thing should've been more of a Black Mesa HEV suit exclusive. I feel like that was a weird that shouldn't have been brought over.
They were H.E.C.U marines so in a way they wore powered Combat Vests (PCVs) more or less similar HEV suits

@@Kvakva yes pcv also powered, but doesn't mean it should have a voice module, it's just a combat vest, it shouldn't talk like HEV suit.
It isn't HEV suit exclusive, the PCV was in Opposing Force.
@@Kvakva Kleiner says specifically that he modified the HEV suit to use combine energy so it should mean the normal HEV was incompatible with the combine energy
I get that they wanted to make this in the HL2 universe, but half of the reason why Opposing Forces was so cool was the weapons.
What if he was still in America helping the reistaniast and then gets order from the gman to help Alyx and Gordon and Eil but first he has to go to the Arctic.
This does not seem like a proper sequel. Adrian is just brought back exactly the same way he was when he was placed into stasis 20 years ago since the black mesa incident. I think the citizens here would be more shocked to see some guy in a marine outfit walking around.
Like in Half - Life 2 when Eli Vance looked at gordon and said "he does not look like he aged a day at all" but then shrugged it off and went on like business as usual. Gordon is also 27 years old in half - life 1 and is now, technically, 47 years old.
Shepard here is wearing an outfit that was, and I am talking about the games timeline here, 20 years ago from the first game to this game.
The G-man would do a better job then what we are seeing here at bringing Shepard back from stasis into this timeline.
Gordon Freeman was brought back from stasis quietly and in civilian clothes so the people on the train were not alarmed. Civilian simply spotted him and said "huh, I didnt see you get on this train". Gordon freeman also got his HEV suit later on except it was also upgraded and modified a bit to work with combine chargers and other technologies.
I encourage the developers to take another try at this.
Because gman wanted Gordon to see how the earth has become in civilian eyes during the beginning. Meanwhile Adrian's purpose here was solely to raise hell for the combine and trigger the massive rebellion in the last chapters of HL2. It makes sense for gman to simply drop him in combat attire as opposed to civil one.

Besides the weapons, nothing here really looks like an Opposing Force game, really it just looks like another HL2 map.
It doesn't even have the first game's most interesting aspect, which was squadmates with their own abilities that you could order around.

Amazing how the story led to him being a minority in the new world of Half Life 2 that got razed by the Xen creatures (vortigaunts excluded of course) and the Combine: his top two enemies. It would have been epic if Valve had him team up with the Resistance since the Combine would generally see the militaries of the UN as their enemies, Shephard included. Nostalgia! I remember teaming up with so many scientists and security guards in Opposing Force. It felt right. 💯

they should probably make up the wrench just like in the original game, aka it having 2 types of hits; the fast one, and a charged one, that will be dealing way more damage. Also, they should probably make up the animations of wrench more to the opposing force ones, and make it a lil bit slower, but buff it's main attack damage
I like this mod, because it depicts a very good and accurate alternate scenario if Shephard found a way out of that helicopter in the void the G-Man sent him to, at the end of Opposing Force. Like waking up in a different part of City 17. Nostalgia! 😆😆😎👌💯

the thing is Vaule made parts of the Opposing force sequel even a whole new enemy that are zombies but even more worse and you meet your ol'pal and he tried to make a cure to the heardcrabs not being able to infect you and take over but they all failed making these nightmares and even monkeys are a enemy to you and the show their weakness via flashlight it was cool forgot what video it was

I want these to happen if there will be a Half Life: Shepard game.
The intro of the game is that Shepard is still in the helicopter realm and he remembers the times that Gman always visited their headquarters and he is always talking to their superiors... and then suddenly, he heard the voices of the combine soldiers and something lighted up like a box and this is the vault that was used to imprison G-Man in Half Life: Alyx .. he heard the voices of the combine soldiers like this "it's him! capture him !" , "we need to capture him at any cost", they are capturing G-Man using the vault and those voices are heard by Shepard in the realm and he see a vague images of the combine soldiers capturing G-man .. and after they locked gman in the vault, there was a small crack or small portal appeared where Shepard was.. because of the G-man's captive , the force that keeping Shepard unable to move has been weakened and Shepard was freed and able to move again and then suddenly multiple portals comes out from every direction in the realm where Shepard is being freeze .. and Shepard was just staring at the small portal near him that came out and thought to approach it and he got absorbed by it and he blocked out ..( like what happened to Freeman when the Resonance cascade happened .. the screen blocked out and then teleported to xen). When Shepard woke up, he first saw the big xen crystal next to him .. and surrounded by people wearing tribal clothing as if they were worshiping or praying in front of the big xen crystal .. the small portal that Shepard entered was going or connected to the big Xen crystal that where it was prayed by the tribe .. Shepard was teleported to the continent that looks like Africa with tribe living in a big cave like a big city and the combine forces can't track them .. this tribe are praying together in front of the big xen crystal.. this tribe tamed the half life 1 aliens and the aliens became their helpers to survive.. just like the Bullsquids they made like horses because their legs are strong and because they also run quite fast and also the houndeyes they are like the dogs and alerting everyone if there's something suspicious entering their place or hideout.. and they also have vortigaunts with them who are also praying in front of the xen crystal.. and when they are all praying altogether, suddenly the big xen crystal lit up and Shepard come out or teleported in there .. they think that Shepard was sent to help them and this will be the adventure of Shepard xD .. (Sorry for my bad English xD)
In Africa chapters Shepard will meet some kind of Freedom Fighters and they have with them one of the survivor of the Black Mesa incident and he is Doctor Walter .. and they have also Vortigaunts .. Doctor Walter telling Shepard that he got separated from Dr. Rosenberg , Dr. Simmons and Barney because while they are escaping, the 7 hour war just started... and combine army invaded the Earth . The Tribe and the Freedom Fighters didn't got notice by the combine because the Vortigaunts blocking all signals from outside the continent or outside their territory or headquarter because of that they are safe from combine invasion and the combine thinks that it's just an empty and an already destroyed country or place they just destroyed some of the cities in there .... but in turn because of the signal blocking , they have no idea what's happening outside the continent and they didn't receive any of the message of Dr.Kleiner, Eli and the resistance but after Shepard just got teleported in there , they think that it's time to stop the blocking of signals or whatever signals 🤣 and they think it's time to help the humanity
The villains in this Half Life: Shepard game will be these people/monsters:
1. The rival tribe that lives in the forest or maybe in other places on this continent.. they have this kind of ceremony or ritual that they put tamed headcrabs on the head of their people to make them stronger and fast.. they call this ritual "The Bond" or "The Fusion" (hahaha sorry I can't think of a better name for this ritual xD) they are making zombie headcrabs but not actually zombie because the human are still 70% conscious because they tamed these special headcrabs .. after the successful bond of headcrab on the head of the human, the human now will gain abnormal amount of strength and speed that they can jump higher or run faster but their speech is not that clear like they have difficulty in breathing. (Africa continent chapter)
2. Half Life 1 and race X aliens upgraded and enslaved by the combine empire: Like the Gargantua .. they are now shooting lava and the combine modified it's appearance to make it look cool 😎 and also the race X aliens Pit Drone . It's now looks terrifying and run fast now and shoots spikes really fast and it has poison that you will lose your health every second
3. Upgraded Combine soldiers some of them now are using jetpacks with upgraded guns. These combines will appear in the Europe continent chapters
4. One of the high ranking combine advisor or whatever high ranking creature in the form of a human just like G-Man will visit Earth and he will be the final boss of the game .. Combine employer or high ranking officers have been worried because Shepard escaped G-Mans stasis and they are being paranoid that maybe Shepard will sabotage their plans (but they didn't know that G-Man planned this, maybe G-Man will betray the employers?) .. this advisor has a power like G-Man that he opens portals and send you there and he can summon soldiers just by opening door portals to fight you . And he can also send you to other dimension in the past and kill you there by influencing the timeline.
In this entire game , you will see a cameos of Gordon Freeman wearing HEV suit.. you know, just like G-Man, that you will see him in a distance in the entire game in different locations and when you see or spot him or go near him he will walk away and he will disappear .. but why Gordon ? Maybe that Gordon is from the future ? And he stole G-Man's power or maybe G-Man gave it to him? G-Man will not be a cameo because he is being imprisoned in the vault but he will only appear in the last scene... And maybe Gordon now is visiting timelines now to influence the past or the events in that timeline? Maybe Gordon, G-Man and the Employers are doing a war of timelines xD hahaha .. and in Europe chapters Shepard will meet Father Grigori .. Shepard will help Grigori to save and rescue civilians .. and they will take their separate ways when they are finally safe and father Grigori telling Shepard that they know a safe town called Ravenholm and father Grigori and other civilians will go there ( maybe in hl2 Father Grigori loses his mind because he sees all of the people he care turning into headcrab zombies and he has no other choice but to kill them)
After Shepard defeated the final boss , the final boss is about to explode just like Nihilant when it got defeated by Gordon and the air is cracking near Shepard like it's opening multiple crack portals and it's showing different timelines. In one of this portals, you can see a cameo of the Mystery woman (the woman from HL:A that's talking about moving the box) and also there's a crack portal and you can see a cameo of Chell and also a crack portal with the HECU soldiers fighting the Hl1 aliens in the black Mesa and also a crack portal showing Otis survived the nuclear explosion because he's in some kind of bomb shelter something like that .. maybe some scientists in BlackMesa created a very non destructive shelter like that in case some explosion happens in Black Mesa 🤣... and also a crack portal showing Gordon and Vortigaunts just staring at him ..
After you beat the final boss, after all of that portals just appeared, G-Man will appear and he will get Shepard again and he will send himself and Shepard to another dimension.. the G-Man that took Shepard after beating the final boss is one of the G-Man that separated from the original G-Man in the ending of Half Life Alyx (when G-man is talking to young Alyx and he split himself into multiple G-Man in the ending scene of HLA)
G-Man will talk to Shepard like this
"Corporal Shepard , we meet again arghhhgaghhj (difficult breathing xD) blah blah blah blah" .. like that 🤣 Maybe G-Man will use Shepard against Gordon or to help Gordon ?

This looks more canon to me, shepard is the one triggering massive rebellion in city 17 during Gordon and alyx absence. It ties to the story perfectly.

He wears a military uniform, the combine just assumes he is part of the rebel. Also just like Gordon he isn't tagged, even if he wears a civilian suit the combine will still kill him
Hopefully we'll be able to befriend whatever Race-X creatures that might show up in later versions.

A lot of people don’t understand Adrian Shepards purpose, I am a strong believer that the Combine soldiers was based off Adrian Shepard. Not just them sharing gas mask face design but even their weaponry and the way they move is a lot like the HECU soldiers in the first game. I want an official sequel showing Adrian being the base DNA for the combine and him being the key to destroying them.

I can't tell if this mod creator thinks "Night Vision" means "giant green flashlight", or if he simply couldn't figure out how to make convincing NVG in source.
