Beautiful collection Darius. Great collection of Viejas. I've never seen a jag or a dovii in a "community" but somehow you're doing it. I don't see a lot of fin damage, it's amazing. Thanks!
Wow. What a super aquarium full,of very colourful and beautiful fish. I used to keep American cichlids when I had a 6 foot tank but I sold it earlier this year due to cost of running it, the cost of living and high energy cost . However I now have a few smaller aquariums with African mbuna and peacock cichlids which are very colourful fish. I loved the mixed variety of fish in your huge aquarium. It was so enjoyable to watch, many thanks. I’m sure you will agree keeping fish is a amazingly interesting hobby.
Thanks, because she's a female I believe I can keep her for her full life with these fish. Females are far less aggressive than males, at this size a male would likely be too aggressive. The only threat from her is if she decides to lay eggs, which is possible but I believe unlikely in this tank
@@jasonmillwood2893 sorry for jumping in but just felt like answering that from my experience - they grow pretty fast up to about 10 inches & then kinda slow down before reaching upto about 2 feet in ponds & monster tanks... Females are relatively smaller and reach maybe about 15 to 18 inches. Happy fish keeping 👍
Great informative video! I have a new 125g American cichlid tank and looking for stocking numbers for that size? This is what I have •Jack Dempsey/Rocio octofasciata •Electric Blue Jack Dempsey/Rocio Octofasciata •Pair Nicaraguan/Hypsophrys nicaraguensis •Pair Convicts/Amatitlania nigrofasciata •Firemouth/Thorichthys meeki (4) •Oaxaca/Vieja zonata •Tamasopo/Herichthys tamasopoensis Is that good or should I add more for aggression sake? Thank you 🙏
What a great video. You actually have me thinking about an all American cichlid tank. I’ve been fish keeping for 5 years and have never seen a dovii/Jaguar hybrid
I mean.. American cichlids will breed with anything, it's not really advised to leave females with males if you're breeding them because they really will.
What are you feeding them? From my experience Jacks never like the pellets. Try giving a frozen carnivore food and you will likely see More eating and activity from the Jack
No Dovii, 1 or 2 of the big cichlid and maybe a group of 5 of medium size veija and u can have fun mixing your own favorite fish. Those fish need space to thrive. U can have more they will survive but u won't see the interaction u want.
I'd say in a 180 5-6 adult cichlids. You can have more as juveniles and it'll probably be best to have more if you buy them young that way you can pick out the ones you like most and remove the ones that are too aggressive. Even with my 350g, once they are all full grown I might settle with 10-12 cichlids because I want them to get very big
I still want you to get a full blooded male Dovii Im no pro on Dovii but definitely know enough to want to keep them lol, Planning a move soon and definitely going to have room for some big aquariums and pool ponds
I love viejas. About a year ago, i caught my first baby vieja..It's really hard to tell what sub specie is, because when they are babies, they kinda of looks like the same. My Vieja is becoming more and more aggresive. I am guessing that's a male vieja
With these fish the rule is either 1 individual fish, a mated pair or a colony of 5 or more. If you just get 3 the most dominate will likely kill the least dominate, with groups of 5 or more the aggression is usually balanced better. You can get five if you mix with smaller species like convicts or salvini
Not so good, they've turned on each other and are fighting. I doubt they'll breed but I'll just keep them in there for a few more weeks until my smaller two in the 880g get a bit bigger
Honestly ... the most aggressive fish I've owned were always Melanochromis Auratus.. Maybe it's just in the water in Australia but that everytime we had them, they were psycho and everything else hid; we even put one in with our Jaguar cichlids and it had them too scared for food. We never kept them of course, we usually sold them and got rid of them
*All* (I think) central American cichlids can hybridize. There a forum on monsterfishkeepers website the actually shows examples of the hybrids including the JDxJag

Hey 5 points Ben. Nice to see you on other channels. Look forward to your next video
Thank you, hopefully they keep the peace as they mature...I'm aiming for monsters!

Great tank, fish, and informative video! Thanks!
Hi I love the sound in the beginning of the vid can I use it for my fish. I’ll give you credit

not for long 😅
Very nice tank.
Nice editing my guy
Thanks
Love your collection of fish. I think I've watched this video about 15 times. danny aquatics
This is one of my favorite tanks ..hands down...this the true definition of a "Show Tank"...
Any chance these are from COTA? The bifas look very similar to mine.
Not directly but yes, the seller I bought them from got his pair from them

beautiful tank.

Very impressive...💯
Thank you!
I love this tank and fish
Thanks!
Beautiful tank. What happened with the Midas cichlid?
I rehomed him, unfortunately. At that time the fish in this tank were too small to be with him and he was too aggressive for my 880g

PERFECTION!
Thanks!
I love all of them, great video 👍🏼👍🏼

What size is this tank if you don’t mind me asking
& JD’s are probably one of my favorite cichlids
I think I have the most aggressive community of cichlid! In one of my tank setup I named it ‘Chicago’😅
Beautiful fish, bro!👍🏽
Super cool!
Thanks!
Big centrals are the holy grail of cichlids for me... Very, very nice
Thank you!
My jack dempsey cichlid is hiding and not eating very much I have seen him being pushed around by my convict cichlid what should I do.
What are you feeding them? From my experience Jacks never like the pellets. Try giving a frozen carnivore food and you will likely see More eating and activity from the Jack
What size tank? If the jack dempsey is in a small tank with a breeding pair of convicts it'll be a nightmare for the jack Dempsey.
Beautiful giant fish 👍
Where is there a dovii in this video? Time stamp?

Those vieja 🔥🔥🔥
Definitely my dream tank 😍😍

Whats the actual dimensions of the tank ?
I still want you to get a full blooded male Dovii

Yes eventually that'll be a nice experince. Indonimus my hybrid is cool but he lacks that color of a true dovii
Fantastic collection of some healthy beasts 😈

Auratus are TERRORS!!!!! Will kill your whole tank!
Yes if I were to make a top 10 aggressive fish video the auratus would be in the top 3...for its size its a terror
I agree. Truly miss the Midas/RD 🐟
Yes he was a champ, but when these Vieja mature I think you'll really be impressed
SWWWEET Tank!!
Thanks!
TONIGHT, on Fish Network, it's "Ultimate Tank Boss"!
What happened to the red devil
I rehomed, he was too big at the time for these fish and too aggressive for my 880g
Yes sir!!
Miss seeing that red Devil/Midas
He was a beast no doubt, I just bought him with the wrong generation of fish
Dope. !!
My jack face is twisted like that too
I want the megadasca cichlid so bad but I can't find it anywhere. I'm crying when I see them in other people's tank 😭

Where are you in the world? They seem to be becoming a lot more popular

The Dovii will end up boss and you didn’t rank it
I am very surprised a dovi's are normal very aggressive. And in a pair they become even more aggressive at a 10.
Female are far less aggressive than males, I believe that a male would not be able to live peaceably in a tank like this
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
How Many Fish Do You Have In There?
Wow
It reminds me of a well controlled remand prison. It looks peaceful, but its stressful cos no-one has their own space.
Viejas gang heavy super dope
Thanks!
👍👍👍🦈🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠
Dope
Mmmmh really tho??? W the bala sharks? Their technically a minnow too their not an actual shark breed.
Nice video if I spoke Latin.
I see mentioned late I’d rank it number one if a male lol
Those aren’t the most aggressive. Lol false advertisement.
