    Great video. My 80+ year old Dad’s L120 just stopped moving and pretty sure this belt broke. Could likely do this job myself with help from video but don’t really have place or time so will be hauling it to dealer to fix. But you made it look very DYI.

      Thanks very much for the comment I appreciate that! The process isn't that complex but it would be easy to run into troubles without the correct tool or workspace (Not to mention not having the time) best of luck and I hope its up and running again soon.
      Cheers,

      Thank you for the comment! your machine may have the belt guard still in place on the back drive pulley. it can easily be removed for better access.
      Thanks again and best of luck with your repairs

    Trying to remove the belt from the rear pulley on my L120. Seems entirely different from yours. There are tabs that prevent removal.

    • @RobHoffmann20
      @RobHoffmann20  Рік тому +1

      That may be the belt guide which is removable via 2 bolts. It's possible they changed the design.

      @@RobHoffmann20 You are right -- there's a roundish bracket that surrounds part of the pulley . I'll have to get out. Thanks

    • @word67
      @word67 Рік тому +1

      @@RobHoffmann20 I got it out. One bolt actually and you can access it over the right rear tire. It's a pressed steel part that surrounds the back half of the pulley and the top too.

    No need to remove the PTO, btw….just the “finger” and then just one bolt to the rear belt guide and you may remove the belt and install the new one. This is helpful to know if you do not have a 1/2 inch drive impact wrench. Otherwise, good video, well done and thank you:)

      Yep, that's what I did. Once you get the belt off the rear pulley, it gives you a ton of slack to slip the belt straight over the PTO.

    Loved your step by step video, problem is it still won't go forward or backwards. Any suggestions ?

      Is it possible the fluid level is low? perhaps the drive linkage from the petal is no longer connected? I suppose a number of things could be at fault.

      also ensure you have the correct belt installed. mine was a very specific length in order to operate correctly

    Awesome video! I’m rebuilding my JD120 and this helps. Wish I had some of that cool weather it looks like you had then. I’m fighting the heat, skeeters, snakes, and gators in this swamp here. Thanks!

    Great video! Just wondering since you have the L120, does yours have spindle grease fittings? People on youtube are saying 7 grease points 2 are spindles and I dont see them. Thanks.

    • @RobHoffmann20
      @RobHoffmann20  2 роки тому +1

      Hey, thanks very much! I appreciate the feedback. So my original spindles did NOT have grease fittings. the replacements I have now DO have them. Now with that in mind have a look at this video I had some serious wear issues with the replacements however since this mod it's been going strong. ua-cam.com/video/S-4M0SvTZKI/v-deo.html

    that seat looks cool af where did you order it? & nice video btw best one so far

    • @RobHoffmann20
      @RobHoffmann20  3 роки тому

      Thank you for the kind words, the seat is just a universal forklift suspension seat, I found it at Princess Auto (just like Harbor Freight) it was rather affordable and still mounted on the original seat hinge to access the gas cap. It has made my 2+hr lawn cutting much more pleasant, I would usually have a sore back with the original seat but now it soaks up the bumps.

    What size is the drive belt? looking to do a pulley flip on my L120 and cant figure out the drive belt length

    • @RobHoffmann20
      @RobHoffmann20  3 роки тому

      If you check out RJR Tractor they offer replacement belts. otherwise you may need to have a look at green parts to determine the specific length. It was from memory like 118-1/2" or something specific like that. (please don't quote me on that length) Best of luck with your project.

    Can you confirm belt. Video shows 85" but my stats say 89". Thx

    • @RobHoffmann20
      @RobHoffmann20  4 роки тому

      That is the size belt to fit my machine, ordered directly from the company who supplied the replacement rear end. Perhaps drive pulley is a smaller diamater, it fits perfect for my needs.

      Other than ordering it online im not sure. sorry that was many years ago. I don't think ordering one is an issue it's just making sure it's of decent quality.
