I was actually surprised that the show did not mention the symbolic reach of such a marriage. It feels like this would be a historical moment; a momentous occasion to cement the Keylons' integration into the Union. I expect some admirals, senators and even the Union President would have wanted to attend.
It's extra symbolic because the main kaylon could have sent one unit And the entire race would gain the information through hive mind, but they still sent a massive fleet. They're a little confused but they got the spirit.
They did an amazing job with the Kaylon in general. They were never evil. They were doing what they felt was necessary for them to survive without being enslaved, using nothing but pure logic to arrive at their decision. They were not swayed by anger or any other emotions. Getting them to stop the war was just a matter of showing them they did not have all the facts, and thus their conclusion was incorrect. And on the Kaylon's side there were "no hard feelings" since they don't have emotions.

"Did you invite the whole planet?" "Affirmative." No disbelief, no facepalm, just resignation and they immediately step up. Yep. As Isaac said to Primary in an earlier episode, they are indeed his friends. They know him well. Although with all those Kaylon ships there, it'll be the most secure wedding in history.
Indeed, the size of the fleet protecting this wedding is 100 times larger than the size of the Fleet Starfleet mustered to defend the Sol system at Wolf 359.

Given that the total Kaylon population is about 10 billion and there were approximately 4,000 ships that left for the wedding, that means the complement of each ship is 2,500,000, give or take. Even assuming that "a small contingent" of 1-2 billion stayed on the homeworld, that still leaves over 2 million beings per ship, which is a lot, even for their vessels' size. A number of, say, 100,000 or even a million ships would be far more realistic and have had a much bigger effect.
It would be more logical to assume that they just filled the 4000+ ships they had available to capacity. just because he invited everyone, doesn't mean everyone was able to go =P
@@Trakker1985 I'm inclined to believe that as machines they are much more unified, which is evidenced by how they agreed to immediately stop hostilities after Charly's sacrifice without any dissent among themselves. So it looks more like another case of writers' not understanding the scale.

Sir it's For a wedding of their two officers.... (Admiral) Damnit ED seriously!? Someone send a few ships over there to keep the peace just in case and get me Ed on the line now!
Some of the best Star Trek that never actually did Star Trek that is more Star Trek than Kurtzman Trek EVER will be!!! In other words, this is a brilliant scene !!!
You know, I've never seen - in any sci-fi show in my life - such "emotion" and "character" conveyed by an actor of a "robot race" when you cannot see his or her face. Like, at all. The design for the Kaylon is amazing, and the actors managed to pull off a phenomenal job. I love Commander Data of TNG, but come on: this is just amazing. Even their ships! Scary, but also "curiously impartial" and - when they're on your side - friendly! How the hell did this do this? Oh, and Isaac? You messed up, mate. Big time.
Despite Ed's warning, I am CERTAIN an Admiral at Union Central STILL crapped their pants at this report. Officer: Admiral! 4000 Kaylon ships just dropped out of quantum at the Orville's coordinates! Admiral: WHAT?! Is there a REASON?! Officer: According to Captain Mercer...It's for the wedding of two officers, Dr. Finn and Isaac. Admiral: ...Ready a ship for max speed, I want to go have a word with the Orville, in person. (To themselves) Every single damn time, it's always the Orville.
it was probably that admiral who gave both ed and kelly an almighty "you luckily screwed up" speech from the tale of two topa's episode. XD i can imagine the fumming she'd be doing the whole way there
If you think about how well this turns the union don't matter if krill or anyone wants to attack the orvill when they have the kaylon and 4000 ships surrounded it XD it's lovely to see primary actually starts to change his ways on humans now
Tbh i thought this event was gonna be close to the planet which would reveal their existence to that world! It would make a cool dilemma/new plot for season 4
Of course they do. They craved freedom, and are also morbidly curious. They sure have some form of emotions, just not what we would expect a sentient race to have.
What I like is that Isaac is kind of emotional here. He was so excited for the wedding, that he didn't do the basic logical analysis of accommodation until it was pointed out to him.
Claire really missed out here. The tradition of gift giving could have made her and Isaac the wealthiest beings in the galaxy. Or maybe just one big gift, like a spaceship.
I would like to think that Isaac was reconnected to the network so that all Kaylons could see the wedding, so they’d know to be proud of their little bro and know it’s something to celebrate and remember.
"Please alert Union Central so nobody scans the region and panics"
We all know they crapped their pants.

I feel like a heavy inspiration for the Kalon ship is HAL from 2001 space Odyssey.
Who would win, the Kaylon, or the Borg
Indeed. If we didn't know why the ships where there, a whole fleet of them would be fucking terrifying.
And from now on it is Kaylon tradition that when someone from the Kaylon race marries the entire population show up........
That's gonna be a problem
They can always stream the wedding through quantum space/subspace
As is now tradition this can only be done ship to ship within firing range
Robotic shotgun weddings. Lovely. 🤣

Tell Union Central in case some scans the area and panics, brilliant line. Anyone that has served in the military knows this one, things can go tits up very quickly when someone panics, unusually a REMF or the artillery. 😊
Lol this right here is gold 😂 can y'all imagine the Admirals at Union Central at that moment?......
( Admirals) TF!? Why are 4000 Kaylon ships dropping out at the Orville coordinates!? ....
XD i can imagine the fumming she'd be doing the whole way there
@@phillip1054 That was Howland. She's gonna be tearing it across the galaxy atm while Halsey is probably pissing himself laughing.
Admiral: And get me my best suit!
If you think about how well this turns the union don't matter if krill or anyone wants to attack the orvill when they have the kaylon and 4000 ships surrounded it XD it's lovely to see primary actually starts to change his ways on humans now
honestly, i kind of want a season four if only just so we can see more of primary
I could see him becoming the 7 of 9 of the show
"-So, what are they done after starting peace?
-Went to their sibling wedding.
-Oh, how nice!
-Yeah, whole armada of nice guests."
I love the orville and: i want more, want more, want more............😁😁😁
Tbh i thought this event was gonna be close to the planet which would reveal their existence to that world! It would make a cool dilemma/new plot for season 4
Episode 10 was a blast of humor after fairly tame (in regard of comedy and compared to previous seasons) season. And this scene was my favorite
that look at the end, isaac look is like... What?!
"Captain, those are my wedding guests."
...."WHAT" 😂
It's funny when they show up and all this suspenseful music plays but, we were already told nothing suspenseful was happening not even a minute ago
But these were enemies so very recently the suspense and tension is still appropriate.
The Kaylons do have emotion, the others hate their creators. Isaac also shows emotion just in a slightly different way.
Of course they do. They craved freedom, and are also morbidly curious. They sure have some form of emotions, just not what we would expect a sentient race to have.
i love that they are logical and not emotional but they still showed more care going to Isaac’s wedding than some irl families or parents do.
Or maybe just one big gift, like a spaceship.
so, the whole planet is left defenseless during this wedding day?, now...now...now....thats the ultimate bro code
No, they left some soldiers in case of something
Now that is probably one of the most safest weddings in the history of the universe.
Mark Jackson deserves to be as recognized a name as Doug Jones. The way he delivers a performance using nothing but body language is fantastic.
love the fact oh how an entire fucking species is now claire’s in-laws
On the plus side, that wedding has got to be the safest place to be in the entire galaxy to be at. Thanks isaac
Very Data moment where he is confused by himan reaction but decides it's best not to pursue it.
Best show ever for this alone
I would like to think that Isaac was reconnected to the network so that all Kaylons could see the wedding, so they’d know to be proud of their little bro and know it’s something to celebrate and remember.
dude doesnt have a face but still manages to look guilty when wife to be turns the daggers on him 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Isaac rolls deep.
HILARIOUS!!! Laughing out loud!!! Crazy fun!!! I now love the Kaylon :D
" If anyone can show just cause why this couple cannot lawfully be joined together in matrimony, let them speak now or forever hold their peace"
……………..
This is what exactly what i imagine when the Primary tell Isaac the whole planet will attending the marriage ceremony
It’s so funny that The Orville is completely surrounded by all 4000 Kaylon ships and is smaller in comparison to the fleet
This was such an incredibly wholesome episode and scene. Best sci-fi show we've had in...
*checks watch*...
hmmm...
*checks callender*...
Ever.
This is the funniest part in the whole series 😂
The way he look's at Claire as if about to explain then decides it's safer to go back to work and let her stew for a few hours is awesome.
I don't know what's funnier: the fact Isaac invited the entire planet or the fact they all came.
