Wish people would cut the guy some slack, he's been seriously ill twice in the last few years, he's also 46 years old, I thought this interview was refreshingly candid and it makes a pleasant change to see him out of a pair of shades =)
I like the new songs and appreciate that he's coming from a delicate place. It gives a whole extra layer, an undercurrent to the album that isn't usual in the music industry. Really looking forward to the live show.
Enriched my life in ways I couldn't possibly communicate. The Desert Island question.....it's stupid...so I'll switch it up. If the world was on fire and I could save only 10 records (Albums)...two of them would be Spiritulized.
Aidan Gillen always seemed like a man of few words and a bit of an introvert outside of acting so it's really weird hearing him interview a band I love!
Although I don't see it as competitive, I know what you mean and also think Spacemen 3 were better. I also saw them & my cousin was in the group before they got that name (*he writes immediately after writing that he doesn't see it as competitive, ha ha ha ha!* - Ahhh, we're all show-offs!) So there you go. That's my fascinating opinion/take on that. Isn't the comments section a blessing for insights into what makes human's tick? ;-)
C'mon J, "I finished the record two days ago". Don't fucking tease!! Word round the campfire was that it would come out in March now it's been pushed back to April and there's rumors that it could be pushed back to even May. We've been waiting for four years mate!!! I will go Spiritualized May 7th, I need to have the record before then.
Why is he not wearing glasses ? And why is he talking so fast and loud ? And why is he looking at some different place and moving so fast ? What the fuck is going on , this is not the Jason I know ...
i adore the music he makes so so much. thank you for everything J.
He's one of those guys where music is everything , it sucks them dry but keeps them alive
Absolutely. It's no coincidence that they've supported Neil Young.who appreciates their work.
Also drugs
Yep its the drugs that keeps him dry & alive haha
Jason, all your records are exceptionally brilliant. X
Wish people would cut the guy some slack, he's been seriously ill twice in the last few years, he's also 46 years old, I thought this interview was refreshingly candid and it makes a pleasant change to see him out of a pair of shades =)
Well he shouldn’t have taken so many drugs
the guy's a fucking genius.
I FUCKING LOVE YOU JASON PIERCE
Thanks Jason..
Love the new stuff just as much as the old..
I like the new songs and appreciate that he's coming from a delicate place. It gives a whole extra layer, an undercurrent to the album that isn't usual in the music industry. Really looking forward to the live show.
He’s an absolute genius. Love him, and I’m just realizing how he kinda looks like Owen Wilson w brown hair.
the man is a genius
I've been a massive fan for 30 years and l have never heard him speak before....kinda strange...
Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot an interview before throwing him out on the stage
Wow, he looks happy and tired, he's absolutely gorgeous.
God Bless you JP
Don't tell him any secrets Jason!!! he turn on you like he turned on Ned!!! lol
Enriched my life in ways I couldn't possibly communicate. The Desert Island question.....it's stupid...so I'll switch it up. If the world was on fire and I could save only 10 records (Albums)...two of them would be Spiritulized.
Wait...Mayor Carcetti from The Wire is a music interviewer?
Aidan Gillen always seemed like a man of few words and a bit of an introvert outside of acting so it's really weird hearing him interview a band I love!
Yeah.. is he a fan? He is trying to present as one, certainly.
I moved it all into my front room 💚🎧
This guy gets a role in The Dark Knight Rises and interview Jason Pierce all in the same year? Lucky guy!
Judging by the new material, our Jason has a peculiar idea of what 'pop' is. Bless him. Great to have them back.
His 'pop' is from the 60's & 70's (unsurprisingly), so that's his life-reference-trip.
:-)
A good pop record can be amazing
All the best 'pop' is a peculiar idea of pop! Good Vibrations!
Great interview!!!
A music legend. See him rock in his early 90s glory in "Glastonbury: In Flashback"
littlefinger interviewing jason pierce is trippy
It's so weird to see Aidan being the interviewer instead of being interviewed.
Where the hell is the interviewer from? He sounds Irish, Scottish, British, Australia, Canadian and American all at the same time.
Dublin, Ireland
hes fucking Lord Balish of HARRENHALL BIAAATCH
Outwitted by a fifteen year old ginger girl O~O
Crimson Rain his name is senator Carcetti
Talented.
Disheveled genius.
Very cool!
Littlefinger is a spiritualized fan? Go figure
Many subtle layers behind a big grand scheme? Actually makes a lot of sense!
Jason has really nice eyes
making the album
Little Finger and the Lord of Spirits
wow, he has eyes.
Probably just completely shattered.
0:24 is that Aidans laugh? Wow he sounds... not like himself. Does that even make sense?
I'm probably his biggest fan
brandon wagner I live on the same island as him so ha
although not like that's helped me much
yeah, thoughtfulness
Don't trust him Jason!
May i ask, what record is he refering to as having just finished, at the time? Thanks
I would think, Sweet Heart, Sweet Light, maybe? He mentioned that they would be playing new stuff, and they were opening with, Hey Jane.
"Some months were 3 hour days." WTF does that mean?
Think he means for several months during the recording of the album they would only work for 3 hours a day.
My gawd .....shocking how real this bloke looks ...no studio make up ......Pierce looks like he hasn't slept four days.
This is from 2011, has Jason ever been interviewed since this? If he has then please let me know..peace
🗣 *There’s interviews from 1989 when he was with Pete Kember in Spacemen 3 from the UK show ‘Snub!’*
Never beat Spacemen 3 , So glad i saw them.
lucky... for the rest of us, our imaginations and youtube help fill the void.
Although I don't see it as competitive, I know what you mean and also think Spacemen 3 were better. I also saw them & my cousin was in the group before they got that name (*he writes immediately after writing that he doesn't see it as competitive, ha ha ha ha!* - Ahhh, we're all show-offs!)

;-)
I was so sure it was the actor from Game of Thrones
ChurKirby It is...
Jason's morphing into Dave Davies.
Bane?
But in all memes aside I find it weird hearing an irish accent on Carcetti

Whoa, he looks completely different.
@RohrboughCop I guess the absence of his drug use is something new to me .
Mink DeVille
I wonder how he's doing now? 40 years of junk has to take a toll on a guy, you'd think. But he was 46 here, and seemed to still be with it.
Carcetti
Yeah! And let's not forget the crippling drug addiction!
it's an interview, the idea is to talk so forgive him for being audible yeah?
Why is he not wearing glasses ? And why is he talking so fast and loud ? And why is he looking at some different place and moving so fast ? What the fuck is going on , this is not the Jason I know ...
Fucked-up vagabond. Looks nuked, good man.
Killer music though, from Spacemen 3 days on.
Actually, you can re record it ….
but ok.
he looks really weird
Pop record, meh..
