I've just purchased a Vive after having used a TrackIR for many years. The main thing I found, rather than the need to be able to look out the back, is more a slight look to the left or right as you navigate turns.....this allows you to drive more naturally and focus on where you need the car to go. You'd find yourself doing this IRL driving rather than just looking solidily forward all the time. I've not had a chance to try the Vive in E:D or Project Cars as yet as the family annoyingly all wanted a go at whole room playing. On another note, you REALLY need to get yourself a wheel\pedals combo.....it will totally change your gaming rather than full on throttle or braking. I use Fanatic products and can't recommend them more highly, although they are pricey! The Logitech products are also good for run of the mill gaming. If you are serious about building a proper cockpit, Fanatic without hesistation!

Say what you like.... but every single time I watch someone relatively new to Project Cars and the VR viewing experience, I see a grown man reduced to a giggling excited school girl, and you are no exception! :-) We all know the limitations on todays technology, but it is fantastic nonetheless. I'm sure I will enjoy joining the school girl club on Monday when my Vive arrives... although I am a seasoned Project Cars racer, so will be able to do a true comparison to high res monitor vs VR headset. Thanks for the video. :-)

I really wish it was a replacement for a high resolution monitor but it isn't :( super sampling certainly helps a lot though but yeah kills frame rate.

      i7 4790k @ 4.4ghz
      980ti Water-cooled
      32GB Ram
      950 Pro SSD
Upgrading to the 6800k next week but yeah it really needs 2 high end graphics cards and SLI support.

I start to get sick after less than one lap. I find myself not using my Vive because I'm sick just thinking about using it sometimes. Do you think just forcing myself to use it for an hour or two a day would reduce the sickness in the long run?

Varies person to person unfortunately, I am investigating boosting image quality with helps with motion sickness but it generally revolves around how you perceive the environment vs real world actions and how good your frame rates are.

LOL, you are using a game pad and simultaneously wondering if VR suits racing. No wonder you are not looking much left and right, your hands are in you lap and your not using your shoulders at all.
