You could lift rear of the car higher when engine and trans is going in. It is easier.
Catching up on this build, and I really enjoy your banter. Makes a great vid. Quick time saving tip for you I got from Benny. When the engine cranes arm is down, just lift it up from the far end and hold it up in the air for a second. When you let it go it will now stay up most of the way. Saves you pumping an empty crane for 5 mins ;)

Done the e30 and e36 ls1 conversion .and you can't beat sikky !

Sikky in America sell a one stop shop for all the parts and no a bad price and great quality !
I know that sikky sell the kits but I wasn’t confident with the left a right hand differences and I also haven’t heard of anyone in aus who had used them

@@liamquinny the reson i used them was the mounts and pan ! But in the end it was cheaper and time saving ! The hole kit
@@liamquinny Hey mate, im currently building my E30 LS (in Melbourne also). You should Hit up Brintech Customs in Sydney they offer everything you need. Also E30 Owners Australia and E30 Enthusiasts Facebook groups have heaps of guys who have been through this before.
Have you guys had a look at what Brintech have re ready made parts for E30 LS swaps
Hey mate, yeah we have, and the design that Liam is using is closely based off their design, the main reason for choosing to make his own mounts and such is being a fabricator, he wanted to have a crack at making up his own mounts
did you guys have to bash in the firewall to get the motor or bell housing to fit?

If your needing more clearance at the front look at switching to a VE/VF L98/LS3 pulley set up, it moves everything closer to the block. Also another option for the A/C, I've just got a really nice kit from Gizmos auto electrics in sydney using a small sanden compressor, and the brackets pull it right in against the block. Looks much nicer than the high mount option. Check out his page on facebook for details or PM me on messenger

Yep totally agree with you, and they would probably be a good bit of kit, however liam wanted to have a crack at building his own mounts and utilising his skills on his car, hence why he decided to make it all from scratch. That has proven a challenge, but that’s what is all about ey haha

Ok boys. Thinking about another term for LS... I think it depends on your point of view. Here's a few options that come to mind.
An Formula 1 fan might call it - Uprated Power Unit (U. P. U).
Ex HSV salesman -The High Output Option
The old school mechanic - The New Donk
The Ford fan - The Chev Engine
The Disgruntled Holden Man since GM killed Holden- That Chev Piece of Shit
The die hard BMW fan - The American Made Junk or The Guzzling Dinosaur
The Chip Foose fan - The GM Performance Crate Engine
The Die Hard Holden Yobbo - The Commy motor
The Owner of the BMW it's going into - The Jewel, The Beast, The Gold Plated Wallet Drainer or simply This Little Ripper.
