[4K] DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA USA WALKING TOUR TRAVEL GUIDE 2022

I started my walk along Flower street. Took a short walk along 7th street. Then I turned along Figueroa street and ended my walk down Olympic blvd. My walk came to an abrupt end cos it was too windy and it affected the quality of the audio of my video.
💡For a time in the 1920s, Flower Street one block north and south of 7th, was an upscale shopping district.
💡Figueroa Street was christened in 1857 by city officials in honor of José Figueroa, a California governor from 1833 to 1835 during the era of Mexican rule.
💡It was originally named 10th Street, but was renamed Olympic Boulevard for the 1932 Summer Olympics, as that was the occasion of the tenth modern event. Tenth Street School, at Olympic and Grattan, was founded in 1888 and has kept the original name.
💡Originally agricultural land, 7th Street between Broadway (on which corner stood Bullock's) and Figueroa Street, became downtown's upscale shopping district.
💡 7th Street/Metro Center station is an underground light rail and rapid transit (known locally as a subway) station on the A Line, B Line, D Line and E Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The station also has street level stops for the J Line of the Los Angeles Metro Busway system. The station is located under 7th Street, after which the station is named, at its intersections with Figueroa, Flower and Hope Streets.
