I tried to help my dad (for him ) to take the test online, and it was a bit of a pain in the ass, and it didn't work. you have to download google chrome, and a browser once you have everything, it actually goes through the steps (explains them) a few times, and then scan your face and id. this part was difficult, because my dad is not computer savy. i tried to help him, but if you or any pictures are in the background, it will not let you the scan, even though it is only scanning his face. so i got him to get that and his id finally scanned, and the it goes through another few steps, to click on this and start that, and then i got to a screen that said to close anything else that is open on your browser. the only thing open is there browser. so when i close it, it kicks you out and you have to go back to your email link, and start that process all over again. i couldn't see anything else open. so he is going to the dmv to hopefully pass the test. they even told him that the test is much harder at the dmv. my dad is 83 years old. he actually studied for a few weeks. he already passed there eye test. he has never had a ticket or accident. but if you are over 70, you have to retake the exam. this is so stupid. Many people complain that the steps to take the exam online are confusing. i agree. you have to do this and that, and it makes it very difficult if you are not computer savy. also all this leading up to the test is only in English, but the actual test is in various languages. that just doesn't make any sense. you should be able to get all the information in all languages. if not, then just make the test in English, or someone has to help the individual get all the way up to this part, which is the actual test, and then they can choose there language for the exam.. that is so stupid. make the instructions in all languages like the test, if not, just make it all in english. (Sorry guys for venting) this process was so stressful, for a stupid test, for someone that has been driving for over 65 years. i could understand an eye exam, but for them to have to retest is just another way the dmv makes money.

Question do you need to present actual id in the monitor while going through process online test? bcs i only have my passport with me with valid cr1 visa. Im still waiting for my green card though.
