I went to college with Sean Studd. He's a cool guy.

I have heard that his dad was basically the most humble, nicest guy around back in the day. Went out of his way to be good to fans who recognized him.
Damn, I got emotional watching this. I grew up watching Big John Stud, I'm 43 and still have my childhood wrestling figures including Stud.

Met his dad just once. He showed up at DOUG'S GYM in Dallas with Bruiser Brody. Total breaking kayfabe as the two were feuding at the time.

John Studd always makes me think of my childhood when I first got into wrestling. Studd, Bundy, Hogan , Andre , Piper and Orndorff were the top guys back then .
He does look very much like his dad! I was very fortunate to be neighbors with the family (both in Annandale and Burke, Virgina) and sadly, saw his dad a few weeks prior to his death. A gentle giant with a heart of gold. My favorite memory was him allowing me to play wrestle with him when he really wanted to just be John Minton at home and not his alter-ego. John Jr., Janelle, and Sean were great kids too. Definitely...my absolute favorite wrestler of all time.

I saw Big John Studd in Fresno CA when I was a little kid. He was a giant in person, who didn't give up that much size to Andre The Giant.
Saw him wrestle Hulk Hogan at Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, early 80's. Before WWF exploded.

I've never met you or your father but he was one of my favs! He was huge had a giant beard and was as cool as they come! I'm sad that he's not here anymore but I'm happy to know this his son is carrying on his legacy while creating his own. God speed!

Big John Studd was one of my favorites. The first time I saw a live card was in Landover, Maryland in the mid-1980s with Hogan-Studd as the main event. Great stuff!
I live in Cecil county,Md...i use to go to the Cap Center for Rock concerts in the 80's an early 90's...i miss that place.

Saw him a few months ago here in Portland, OR, he was one-half of the tag champs in WCWC
I was present when this was filmed. Even at a young age Sean has an old soul. Very respectful and friendly and of course Bill Apter is always the professional.

2 years later still nothing from Sean.
Big John Stud lived across the street from me in Springfield, Va (I believe we lived in the Keene Mill subdivision). I remember a group of us young kids waiting for him at his house. He came home, still dressed in his boots and cape and took the time to give everyone of us an autograph. I’ll never forget that day as long as I live. I think I was only 6 or 7 at the time.

Good luck to him. Seems like a nice guy. Most people have said that John Studd was a nice guy. But for some reason Andre legitimately didn't like him and roughed him up in the ring. I guess Andre felt like John disrespected him in some way.

When the first issue went to press, Ken Patera & John Studd were ranked at #4 in the Tag Team Division. Some thing these new generation wrestlers are forgeting about is the voice. Some wrestlers used to always stay in character. Macho did. Hogan did for a time. But the derp big man voice wether in character or not the deeper voice remained. Wish him luck. Nice young guy.

I remember a tall wrestler who started in Los Angeles named "The mighty Minton" his name being John Minton. I always thought he became "Big John Studd". I also thought that the extra tall actress Faith Minton might be his sister since they are both extra tall and had the same last name, Minton. But since this kid being interviewed looks so much like the late wrestler maybe my conjecture is just wrong.
