I wanna make a game inspired by the “High Crusade” where a bunch of medieval knights are abducted by aliens, but they turn the tables on the Aliens and lead a holy crusade on the Alien home world using repurposed alien tech.

remember when you launched farcry 3 and where taken to a crazy fever dream of a land where you descend into madness as you become essentially the same monster that killed your friends to begin with? The decent into madness and absurdity was a story element. Now you can get a pet crocodile to kill your enemies as you jump to safety on your jetpack while using your "special" weapon with skins you paid real money on... FOR A SINGLE PLAYER FUCKING EXPERIENCE!!! Don't even get into the fucking story MY GOD. Everything is so damn bad.
Developers are not the problem. Corporation is an entity with many limbs, developers are just one limb amongst many. The head/brain (CEO/managers) is part of the problem that manages the direction of the developers but not core real problem. What the entity consumes as in effect the loans coming from investing company that asking for their political agenda to be included in the game is the core problem here for company to be profitable. Company needs loans to develop games, then they consume these toxic loans that lead to their demise.
