    I would highly recommend a pond in the garden as it's great to relax to and it brings wildlife to your garden.

      Because the people who produced this video are probably still used to the way videos were made in the 80-90's. :)

    Beautiful. Looks like you have quite the skilled crew, they do great looking work. Note, your title needs to edited. It should read "Bubbleless" rather than the "Bubbless" it does now. Very inspirational. I think if you partnered with a local koi breeder you could work out an arrangement to feature some really top end fish to make it look all the more outstanding. It looks like you feature some beautiful koi packages as it is.

    Really a beautiful job. A few questions:
    1. What is that whirlpool at 9:19?
    2. What is that big green ball?
    3. At 9:33, the stones are glued to the liner?! Understand railing intends to keep people out of water's edge, but at some point someone might be there maybe to clean water or retrieve some stuff... Won't the stone flip over?

    Interesting install and great to see so much energy and expense being put towards the quality of the water, but with so much money being spent a little more thought on the design surrounding the project could have really lifted it. All of the plant side of the pond could have been better concealed, and there are definitely more creative ways to edge a pond. Having said that, I wouldn't complain if you wanted to install one in my garden!

      This pond was installed in a public location - so it had to be built, fenced, and landscape in a way that kept the public from falling in.

    mmmm ...i would personally prefer less depth and more width than the pit. I'm sure the koi will prefer much wider space to swim and roam around.

    totally awesome! curious though.....why would you spend so much time and effort making the exterior of the pond look great but you put nothing in the pond itself other than the fish?...its a big bath tub with koi in it.

    • @RogueCow
      @RogueCow 9 років тому +7

      That's what the die-hard koi hobbyists refer to as a koi pond. According to them (i have plants and rock with my koi so I do not follow this rule) once you put rocks and plants into a pond it is no longer a "koi pond" regardless of the type of fish in it...
      Most "koi ponds" you see are just black liner, which shows off and accentuates the beauty of the fish

    Just wondering how do you make the water fish safe coz I've never seen koi pond tap safe stuff so...

    • @HaloToday
      @HaloToday 9 років тому

      MyFishCare They have water conditioners you can add to your tap water to remove all of the chlorine/chloramine to make it fish safe.

    • @SUM1SLY83
      @SUM1SLY83 9 років тому +2

      Chlorine will disappear by itself over time, just wait till you put fish in.

    • @HaloToday
      @HaloToday 9 років тому

      SUM1SLY83 Very true if your local water supply uses chlorine but now chloramines are becoming more popular these days and unfortunately chloramine does not dissipate very easily

    • @armanflint
      @armanflint 7 років тому

      Let water run though the filter for a couple of days before you add the fish. There are dechloininators that you add while filling the pond every time you fill it. (Sodium thiosulphate). Plants also help clean and filter the water if you add them.

    • @MBen89
      @MBen89 7 років тому +1

      I am assuming it's cold where the guy lives, which means when it freezes over in the winter, the fish will be able to survive deep down where it's warmer. But yeah, it is deeper than necessary. Maybe he wanted it deep enough for him to swim lol

    Having exposed pond liner above the water surface is not a good thing. Exposure to UV and other environmental contaminants will shorten the life of the liner in those areas. It also detracts from the aesthetics of the pond. A ledge should be created that is several inches below the water surface to support the border rock. The liner then comes up behind those border rocks, folds over top toward the pond and then another layer of rock holds it in place. Results in longer liner life and prettier pond.

    It seems like as much concrete as your guys have to mix you could speed things up by investing in an electric concrete mixer. Harbor Freight sells them for a little over $200 www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=concrete+mixer

      That's why the video calls it a bubble-less pond all the gas exchanges are done in the chambers provided. Still making it bubble-less also gives the pond more clarity to see the fish the surface looks like a sheet of glass...
