I too have a Macan CPO and totally agree with your stance. I had the glue fail on my leather dash. They replaced it without question at zero cost to me. I did see the final invoice. Original cost for the work was $6,480. CPO saved me for sure.
Did you get the transfer case and timing chain cover done? The latter alone is reason to get CPO. I've heard some dealerships charge upwards of $10,000 for that engine out job alone. My service advisor caught this small leak while I had it in for service and it was done under warranty. This is why I was glad I took it to the dealership instead of my usual indie. I will take it to the dealership every 4 years or so just to have a mechanic who is familiar with the issues common to this specific car inspect it.
Transfer case issue is so prevalent Porsche extended the warranty to 10 years on all cars for this. Porsches are wonderful cars that are generally quite reliable relative to other German brands, but when they need attention there is definitely a strong luxury tax.
I think you should keep the Macan and be the spokesperson for a dealer maintained vehicle. These cars can go the extra mile when they are maintained properly by those that are trained in serving them.
So basically don't by the extended warranty and find a good independent mechanic or wrench on it yourself
Did they give you a loaner while your Macan was getting serviced?
Wooops, looks like a used cadillac CT4 or BMW 5 series. 2000 dollar oil changes i can't afford.
Porsche in the UK do not give courtesy cars at all. And they do nkt make any videos.
