    My next tent. Thanks for the review

      It's a really smart summer tent. Crazy light and compact but perfect for one person.

    I have this tent.
    I like how easy it is to pitch and how light it is.
    Downside is that I get condensation, inevitable with a single skin tent. My tips are 1: use the guy ropes even if there’s no wind, so that the bottom part of the tent is steeper, so more condensation drains out via the mesh rather than dripping into the tent 2) keep the main door open a bit if you can 3) makes sure that the front guy is pitched correct so that the air vent by the tent pole is wide open 4) don’t waste money on expensive tent silicon. UA-cam is full of videos showing how to use cheaper clear bathroom silicon and solvent. It works as well and is cheaper and easier to use.
    Andy love the videos. They are well made and you know what you are talking about. There are a lot of other videos on here from other channels that can’t say the same.

    Another advantage it could fit into smaller areas for pitching. Great review👍😊

      Yes definitely. With the sort of wild camping I do I’m always struggling to find a perfectly flat pitch so this is a big advantage for me. Thanks for sharing 👍

    Great Tent Andy! I’m yet to get trekking poles but when I do I may have to invest in one of these, do you recommend Ali express, is it a secure way or purchasing?

    I have owned the Non pro version for 4 years now. I love the weight but dislike the moisture. Love how they put vents around the bottom on the pro. Might have to switch. Wonder how the condensation is with the pro?

    • @BackpackingUK
      @BackpackingUK  3 роки тому +1

      I’ve got the 2 Pro and there was a lot of condensation but any tent would have in the conditions I camped in. I’m using it again next week so I’ll do an update in that video.

    Is that a hot tub in the background?! Just another reason I’m jealous of Andy 😂 for me the lanshan 2 is the better option. Lanshan 2, my beloved OEX phoxx 2 and my soon to be owed Naturehike Mongar 2 are the 3 tents I’ll ever need for any trips I plan to do.

    • @BackpackingUK
      @BackpackingUK  3 роки тому

      The standard Lanshan 2 is probably a better option for most people. The Pro is a great summer tent though and the Lanshan 2 Pro is huge!

    • @BackpackingUK
      @BackpackingUK  2 роки тому

      I'm just using this for sunny summer days but you would definitely need to seam seal it properly if using it in the rain. Personally, if you have an alternative tent for wet use I'd use that.

  • @RJ-pu8yh

    I watched Wildbeares latest video and Claire had the Lanshan 1, but she commented that it wouldnt be her choice in rainy conditions, is that a flaw in the design? Is it a three season tent or jus a fair weather tent please? Im looking to lighten my pack dramatically for multiday hikes, thanks

    • @BackpackingUK
      @BackpackingUK  Рік тому +1

      Be careful going ultralight, generally they're not as good in the wind and rain. Personally, I see ultralight gear as summer gear. However, if you're set on a ultralight 3 season tent, you could always seam seal the tents / tarps your self to ensure they are waterproof.

      @@BackpackingUK Haha..I think you're winding me up! But just to play devil's advocate..Some of the American reviews of this tent say how gud it is at throwing off snow because of its steep sides..Ther are loads of folk who use them in winter..Theres a 4season inner, which is basically less mess on the door..Come on buddy, folk use tarps in winter! Check out Jupiter Hikes and Darwin on the trail to name a couple of channels (their winter camping posts)If you're not teasing; then I think you're doing the lanshan a disservice..Its a plucky little tent, that does have its failings, as ALL tents do..but it's much tougher than you think! Homeless folk sleep outside without a tent @all..its a couple of mill of fabric @the end of the day!?!? Think we're losing that "Mallory" spirit..Your thoughts?

    • @BackpackingUK
      @BackpackingUK  2 роки тому

      If people are honest, they only buy a Lanshan 1 Pro because of it’s price-to-weight ratio and nothing else. There are many more tents that are far better for a little bit more weight. ‘Plucky’ is a nice word for tiny (I will use that on my channel in the future 😁). The American market is all about weight and the suppliers have taken this path by marketing their products to be mainly about weight, that’s always their headline figure. Thin poles and loads of mesh for the European market, no way! I like my Tarptents but the build quality is nothing like European tents but they are innovative and they do weigh less. Back to the Lanshan, my final thought is my Lanshan 2 four season is much, much better than the 1 or 2 Pro outside of summer so I think people should buy the pro for summer use only.

      For the materials that are used it is fairly “budget” to be honest.

    • @Adam_Outdoors
      @Adam_Outdoors 3 роки тому +3

      For this type of tent and material and weight yes it is 100% a budget tent. The term is relative to the item and type it's referring to. It doesn't mean it's in your own particular budget as that is subjective. "budget" is is relative to the item not you.
      £100 for this type of tent is 100% budget.
