- This video documents my finding and moving into my apartment in Nice, France after just 2 months. Finding an apartment is usually a long process but I was lucky and had a great agency working with me. There is alot of documentation that goes with getting an apartment in France and it is not an easy process. However, for me it was effortless and this apartment had everything on my checklist and more!!!!

Hi Dawn, I was watching a UA-cam video just on Nice, but I ended up watching yours and boy am I glad I did. First of all, I realize we are using the same agent that got your apartment . I am moving to Nice in The first week of December of this year 2023 and I am sure that he will find me an apartment also. Second, I really enjoy your beautiful positive and real personality. I hope when I move there, we will have a chance to meet. For the meantime, I will continue watching your videos.

After spending almost 38 years in Fl., I finally decided to move back to the Mediterranean region..Nice to be precise. In my case, 'the culture shock' will be in reverse. I will be leaving all of the --as you put it-- b.s. behind and fiinally, enjoy life in its fullest the way it is supposed to be in France. What a great apartment! I have a place in Nice, not far from you. I have probably passed you on the street since I go through Place Massena multiple times each day when I am in Nice! But I spend only a few months there each year. Because of French inheritance laws, I do not want to become a resident. Just started watching your videos, so I have some catching up to do!

I’m considering a relocation to another city in France and am wondering how you found a real estate agent. My first experience required a lot of dedication and persistence - yikes. If you have suggestions on how to find an agent without going to multiple agencies, I’d welcome any information you could share with me. Keep up the good work with the videos!

Thank you! I am a retired American educator. We helped a new school open in Lviv, then spent 6 weeks in Ktakow; we're in Tallinn for a month before heading back to Oregon. My wife and I hope to visit France after the Olympics. We plan to sell our Portland condo, invest in CDs, and then move to France. We will rent so we can travel in Europe. There are several significant advantages to living in France: climate, healthcare, culture, and infrastructure. Thanks again! Dean and Cindy.

It's so nice! I love the paneled walls. I'm in Malta and was wondering about Nice. Do apartments there have heat? Are any of them unfurnished? Anything you can tell me will be appreciated.
Most apartments do have heat and yes, you have the option of unfurnished apartments. The rents for those will actually be less than the furnished apartments. My apartment happens to be very modernly renovated, which is not typical of the furnished apartments here in France. I was just very fortunate that these owners had a modern view in renovating their apartment.
I love your place! You are perfectly located to everywhere. I’ve recently changed my plans to move to Nice in 2025 instead of Portugal.
Portugal is great too. We you finally need a agent use the company I did. They are so great and speak English well too.
Hi Dawn, I’ve done considerable research and consultations on Portugal. Since the country announced the end of the NHR ( Non Habitual Residency) tax regime program beginning in 2024, I’ve reconsidered. I understand the tax treaty with the US, but there were other reasons as well for the change. My daughter and her family are are also in favor of France. Bonjour, I just watched your video and see it's one year ago. Seems like a lovely apartment, area, and very convenient to everything... Can I ask how much your apartment costs, with rent and any utilities included, etc.? Do you have a washer dryer in the apartment? Thank you I hope your year has been wonderful ❣️ I just saw where you bought an island to have more cooking baking room. I am a Chef ~ I was more worried about that little teeny sink😂

I love my apartment and plan to stay for a very long time. The noise is not bad at all and the little I hear with some major events is still not bad and worth it.

Do you have to pay the real estate agent/agency? And if so what percentage or amount? What is the best way to find a real estate agent for renting?
It works a little differently over here. You should contact the agent that I used fabricio at French Riviera house hunting if you are seriously interested in looking for a house or an apartment to buy or rent.
I just found this video so excuse me if these questions have already been answered. Are you from NY? (Me too) Are you able to live in France bc you are a student? I'm considering moving to France but I need to earn an income sill. Are you Fluent in French language? How much is the apartment?
Lots of questions! You can get over here on a student VISA and other VISAS too. You can only work on a Student VISA max 20 hrs per week. I would suggest finding a remote job earning US money or have your own remote business. I am not fluent but I am in school learning and suggest everyone learns the language of the country they are planning on moving to. I will not reveal my personal information as far as the apartment. If you would like to get an idea of apartment prices here is a website in France for apartments called morning croissant. Good luck!

Sorry for the delay. I know have a cost of living video you can check out. Prices will vary based on many factors. I was very fortunate to find this particular apartment in the location and renovated in such a modern way. Please do not think that this is standard for apts b y any means.

French riviera house hunting. Ask for Fabricio. He can actually start the process before you actually get here virtually as that a peak time and may take a little longer to find an apartment so I suggest starting early.

@@DelightsbyDawn My niece has just come back from a short holiday in Nice , as I live in the south west of France and I go to the markets here she took some photos of a market there for me, for example everything was nearly double the price clementines 6€ le kilo against 2€99 here ., that is just a small example , but ordinary working people cannot afford that, as you said it’s not expensive for everyone , maybe not for you.

Al we aya disappointing when someone does t share how much we wiuld be looking at to rent. You don't have to give us the exact amount but a range would be nice.
