My cover of one of my favorites of all time from Pantera. I.M.O one of the greatest songs ever, and definitely the best solo ever written. It has enormous feeling and soul to it. I hope I did the song justice. I learned the intro from the music, and the rest of the song is done by ear. So sorry no, I don't have tabs. I heard the song a million times before I tried learning it so I pretty much already knew how it went, the bends and squeels would be hard to tab out since its more feel, and they aren't your standard 1 step bend and releases. That's not the kindest way to voice your dissatisfaction with the man's tone and texture . Although you're correct inferring there are many better ways to adjust his settings . Which amplify how good he is !

He's actually using a really nice Randall, he's just using far too much distortion/overdrive, I reckon if he'd set the gain knob to around 5 or 6 it'd sound crisp, then again, Dime never played with 5 or 6 gain, he always put that shit between 8-10 with a dickload of bass

2020 now and man this is still the greatest I've seen and I've been down some Dimebag rabbit holes on youtube in my time...Your feel on Pantera stuff is so damn good.
You have put in the time. Folks who just love the music, but don't attempt to play it don't know the untold hours of practice it takes just to nail a solo, and thats just notes! Double those hours to work on the touch and feel and god the harmonic squeals. I'm a guitarist too and I've taken a fair crack at some Pantera over the years to know that these songs/solos are not for the faint of heart. You make it look effortless (like Dime did) and your love and respect for the music and the man shine in your playing. Mad Respect.
You deserve all the accolades that are rightfully given you for all of your Pantera covers. Dime was an absolute master, if he were here today I feel sure he would agree with all of us that you are undoubtedly a worthy apprentice. Your original work is great too. Keep it up.

I wouldnt call the tone "awful" little bit too much mid and fuzz. Its hard to get everything to sound right. Even for a seasoned sound guy. But that acoustic! The tone on that thing is bright and amazing! I had to squint to see if it was a 12 string or not. Is it an ovation? Or....?
