A Prime Inc driver story I won’t soon forget…

- When nature calls with the force of a ballistic missile there is little you can do to avoid it as a truck driver. My day was already hell running #primeinc freight and it got so much worse!
My most important tool on my truck...my portable toilet
A bucket, a trash bag and kitty litter. Also dude wipes or baby wipes.
Bucket upgrade incoming lol
And my dispatcher asked me we're looking for volunteers to install driver facing cameras.
This story reminds me exactly why I will never go back hauling reefer
You actually lost three loads when you think about it ha ha
Facts 🤣
I learned a long time ago when i caught a stomach virus how important a bucket with a trash bag is. 😂
I now see the value
I ate something my stomach didn't agree with out on the road. Let's just say I learned not to trust a fart in that situation and leave it at that.
🤣😂🤣😂
Thats why i bought an emergency shitter
I felt the same way about my life when I couldn't hold one and literally took a dump under the trailer along a Minnesota highway. I was still in TNT, and thankfully, my trainer never woke up. That dolly gives you a nice grab bar! Got a bucket now, but I haven't used it yet, thank God. I had a gall blader issue a couple of months ago that wrecked me too. I couldn't trust a fart, so I crossed a line that I hoped was still 20 or 30 years off; I bought some Depends. Surprisingly comfortable. No shame in the trucking game.
🤣😂🤣
It should be mandatory that all in house employees who deal with drivers spend a week on the road with a driver. I bet we all could learn so much
It's a crazy Kafkaesque business sometimes. Ditch those beans and be like "I don't know nuttin about no green beans" only if they ask, as you accept the next load.
I have GI Issues myself and some times when nature calls, Menards Bucket and scented trash bags with dude wipes are handy.
I drove for prime 20 years ago, I’m a log truck driver and there have been more times than I can count that I’ve been there and done that!😂
O,S and D is a nightmare. Shippers would be asking me over the phone to recount 756 cartons while the freight is being put up on the shelves of a retail store. Yeah ok!
What's hysterical about this story, is another driver and I were swapping stories of this happening to us. Eric, most of us have had this happen once. OTR life.
I’m not alone!
What a day! Hope you are doing better and the little guy is healing quickly!
Yes on both accounts!
It was a no knock warrant 😂
Fo Sho
😅 lol
Oh lort! I can't breathe. 🤣😂🤣😂
I hope it gets better.
#GreenBeansForLife
Haha those damn green beans
lol. Differently been through that a couple of times brother. Don’t feel bad sir.
I knew I wasn’t alone 🤣
They sell toilet seats that you can snap on to a 5 gallon bucket at Walmart. Get you some trash bags and some kitty litter, problem solved
Office size garbage can and black lawn size garbage bags is a must on the road..
“I’ve been doing this 5 years and seen it all”. 😂 Come back again after 30 years and try again
Ok super trucker.
@@DriverLineup Although 5 years as a Prime driver puts you at the top of the seniority list.
This was funny. It's funny because I know your pain. I invested in a camp toilet and it works wonders. I have it prepped with those scented trash bags already inside so I just have to pop it open.
Yeah I’ll be grabbing a bucket.
Troy, AL. Been there once. They had 5 Prime trucks all delivering Strawberries from Cali. They didn’t have us on the schedule for had to get the receiving manager to tell the gate to let us through. Took about an hour though. They still rejected like 10 pallets had to take to a Farmers Market in Birmingham.
This happened to me twice in one day in like a one hour span. Thankfully it was atleast at night lol.
Great story! Your right we all have similar stories. At least you have a good attitude. Just think how your grandkids will react. 😁
Oh yes it's happened in all kinds of situations and places.... especially during the covid days when alot of places closed the bathrooms to truckers it was only one way to relieve myself so i found bushes and everything was good...i made sure to always have toilet paper on standby as well
The dreaded bad coolant reservoir sensor. Been there done that. You can unplug it until you get sensor replaced.
Wipes and kitchen trash bags. Carry them religiously.
Oh yes indeed Trucking is not for everyone and a driver has to be prepared for everything. I have been here at Western Express for a few years and I'm about done. I'm on day 6 of the work week and I've only delivered one load 433 miles and yeah I feel like I've been working every single day LOL.
Yep! Every damn day.
Better lay off those ROLLER HOT DOGS...ha ha!.
I don’t touch those but it was sumthin lol
Bad chili?
Dropped a few loads on the side of the interstate myself, just keep the baby wipes and hand sanitizer on Deck. 😉😉
I feel like it's the Walmart in Opelika,i hate it but we go alot at my company, most Walmart DCs dont consider you there until youre backed in and unhooked
I know what you’re going through. Been out here with prime going on 6 years
Working on my 6th year and I feel ya!
Being there a couple of time with prime and I still run with the sensor problem and I put the little tiny boxes on the fridge do the washout pick up they ask for the product I tell they said throw it out you kind of over complicate things a little 😂🤦🏽♂️
5 gallon bucket and a trash bag my dude
Sounds like quite the set up
@@DriverLineup it's better than a Ziploc bag lol
Hey Eric I hope you are doing good happy holiday also!! But hey man I want to know something though did you keep that seat cushion for a souvenir the time you had the stinky trainer lol 😂 😂
Hey you need to be using that Love's just south of that Walmart DC it's only about 16 mi down the road
It’s 26 miles and that’s where I was headed 😫
If you have a Cummins it’s most likely the wiring harness. It’s a pretty common issue. You can just unplug the sensor for now and you’ll be fine. Just make sure to keep an eye on your coolant levels
PS:Always have UR Tools 4 Such Predicaments!
PS:Another Thing 2 do is to try to Always get the Phone # & Name of the Broker so that if anything happens they can Remedy the Situation!
Gotta love those Turtle Loads!!
Oh do I have a story of stuff happens 3 things in one day. A 2hr delay by my company 4hr delay my load was put on another truck. And had possible police suspects try to get in my truck... all in one day
WTF!?!
Nature was hitting you like one of them no knock raids lol
Shit happens. It’s an embarrassing part of driving, but it happens to all of us. Most just don’t admit it. My day today started out with a head on collision just a few cars in front of me. A semi truck, driver, sadly by swift went on the exit ramp into oncoming traffic. I sat for four hours, and then once I started moving again, just five minutes up, the road was the scale house. I got pulled in for a random inspection. I run intermodal, and there was some issues with the chassis that I didn’t see. Because I’m not a mechanic and I don’t know what I’m looking at half the time lol, I only look at the obvious things that are in our inspection. Now I’m headed to the receiver for a live unload, and I’m three hours late lol oh and I’m going to run out of hours coming back and I’m in a daycab. Not sure what I’m going to do. Lol.
In 12 years I've never told anybody this but as a long time subscriber I'll go ahead and tell you lol
Get loaded up and roll in south out of Eagan Minnesota headed to Iowa on a run I have done multiple times cruising down 35 and I feel nature calling which is first was just the normal daily routine. So I'm like well I'll just get on down here to this one truck stop that I know has clean restrooms shouldn't be no problem at all. As I continue to drive I started to realize that this was a little bit different today. Even so I thought to myself you'll be all right you'll make it. 5 mi from the truck stop I was summoning strength that I didn't even realize I had. Made it to the truck stop pulled up to the fuel island set my brakes and it was at that point that I realized if I did any kind of movement it was all over. I had made a horrible error in judgment because not only was climbing down out of the truck walking across the parking lot not an option I wasn't even able to crawl back into the sleeper and do what you did. My only option was to raise myself up out of the seat about 3 in and just let her go. I was 28 years old I s*** my pants in Minnesota 😐
It's never happened again which leads me to this little tip for you. I'm not sure about setback front axle trucks but on ones with the long hood if you go over to the passenger side well first open your hood but then go over to the passenger side and get in between your passenger steer tire and the cab there's enough room to squat down and do what you got to do without being seen. Well as long as you're parked on the side of the road or there's nobody on the passenger side of you lol. Another perk about doing it there if it's the dead of winter the heat from that turbo is your best friend 🤣
You are correct
Not laughing at you but with you, been there in similar circumstances 😅 Hey Jenna how is the little one doing?
He is absolutely amazing. Toughest little guy ever and living his best life everyday like he didn’t even break a leg 🤣 - Jenna
Since you don't load the truck, it's not your problem.
Well it became my problem
If all fails, blame the driver...imagine that
Yeah man, it’s your coolant level sensor. My first cascadia did the same exact thing. Threaten to shut down, restart the countdown, and would shut off some time. Just unplug the harness that plugs from the bottom corner. You will just have to watch the level closer since your sensor isn’t plugged in, but yours is bad so it doesn’t matter anyway.
lol, unplug it if your not getting it fixed right away
Got it fixed but great to know!
Nothing like a good old bowel movement in the woods, caveman style, good for the soul, welcome to trucking 🫡
Good for the soul 🤣😂
Are you talking about your Peterbilt ? I had a 19 KW T680 with the paccar engine. It was notorious for coolant shutdown sensor problems towed numerous times over it they all seem to have issues with them . They aren’t like Freightliner either where you could unplug the sensor and drive on . They might have to replace the entire coolant jug to fix it ..
im glad i was hauling scrap metal i get to the dump pickup and deliver between 8 and 4 i had 2 trailers to bring i had to bring 5 load a week i was geting $30 a tonne public got $20 if i did not make my cota i got $20
Leave the cases outside the dock. They'll catch on real. Warehouses don't give a shit about the driver's. That's why flatbed is better.
Wow you truckers have it bad sometimes. I drive for my local transit and had something similar happen and was stuck in a traffic jam. I had a buss full of passengers but barley made it to a restroom would have been a Real embarrassing moment for me. Im thinking of upping my cdl to a class A and start driving truck in the near future is your driver code still good with prime?
I am not a trucker but going to trucker school soon. I just wanna ask is thier anything wrong with calling a local food bank to donate unwanted loads?
Not at all. That said, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Rarely are they capable to come to you. Conversely, rarely are you capable of getting to them (you’re gonna be about 75 feet long).
Bro, I was sleeping and my stomach said get the hell up! I feel your pain but by now you should’ve gone to the dollar tree and got 2 of there small trash cans! Get 2 so you are sturdy for your turdey! They are the perfect size for Walmart plastic bags and use 2 so you’re not cleaning your butt gold. Trust me n thank me later. I use them as storage but if an emergency happens you will be able to chill watch tv maybe knit a sweater while you’re bowls release the demons from your colon! 2 bucks is nothing when you remember how the sweat burned your eyes while prayed to not miss the bag and poop on your floor
I'll be perfectly honest with traveling and the food and water options that are available I'm surprised that the percentage of people that have issues isn't higher.
I say that because it can be as simple as drinking tap water from an area that your internals are not used to the Natural parasites that are in that water.
Nope. I can hold my shit with Zen like discipline before that one. It's worth the story though
I mean you can until you have the one time you can’t 😂
@@JennaOnTheRun1776happened to me once at Logan Airport waiting for a flight…thought it was just a normal bathroom call…became equivalent to a colonoscopy prep! Glad i made it to restroom in time!
Holding it is unhealthy
Then you have to use a butt plug. I’m not judging but there’s no way you can drive OTR and not have your stomach hit at just the wrong time at least once. Not buying it 😂
Been there!
I watched roadrunna nia, take a big shit,on the side of the road,,i mean she exploded..😂😂😂
We’re is your trusty bucket
Here 🎉🎉
👋
Its true Prime is going to HELL
brundidge al lol
Gotta be brundidge lol. Those guys and Robert La walmart dc sucks bad.
I cannot confirm or deny that
#whatintarnation lol
😮 brooooooooopo 😅
😂😂😂
😮😮😮😮
Its the coolant level sensor, mine just went bad. You can unplug it, check engine light will come on but it wont shut off
Sure was. Got it replaced.
@@DriverLineup good deal man, If it ever does that to you again you can unplug it and it will throw a check engine light for an electrical fault, but you can run it and the truck wont try shutting off anymore. Lets you finish out the week and get the sensor replaced on a 34 instead of missing out on a load🤘
6 yr driver here and it sounds like you’re from the suburbs. The stuff you’re complaining about is what real grinders love. This was not video worthy … We wake up and pray and say bring it on devil God got me
We gotta a super trucker here.
2 million miles driving . Agreed to 50k miles tnt. I believe in prime, until the cameras!!! Just about done with tnt and nothing will change mind about driver facing camaras.. I want no part of it. I wish prime luck , I truly do. I'm sorry to say I won't be part of it..
